Well, both PT and dh's visiting nurse have been here. PT stated that they couldn't do any exercises as his oxygen level is too low (anything below 90 & it's running right around 87 -usually about 96/97). So she put in a call to the DR as they're instructed. Hoping he'll call back with a prescription for a nebulizer. We have one in FL but that doesn't help here. DD could bring it with her this weekend, but I don't want to be shuffling one back and forth. Temp is 90 out so it may have something to do with his breathing. Even with our AC running constantly it's still 84 in here.

Dsonil had figured on coming up the weekend of the 23rd for our DGS17's graduation. But they finally decided if he doesn't have his jeep back by tomorrow she'll rent a car to drive up here. Then he'll drive her car up here at the end of the summer and drive back with her. DGS doesn't want a party so it'll just be graduation. Not sure dh and I will even be able to make it. Things would have to change a whole lot.

My living room is currently 79. On the other hand, the loudest complainer in our FB group woke up to 82 and I believe her. And that is despite her apartment being on the windy side last night and overnight the outside temps were in the high 50s (not that there was much wind, it was more a very light breeze.) Her apartment is a 1 bedroom with no balcony. It has 3 windows 5' x 6' and two have openings of 17"x27" but the window tilts inward so not all that opening is not blocked by the window itself. Her apartment gets 8 hours of direct sunshine each day and the windows are 55 years old so, while double pane, don't have any UV reflecting properties. I imagine her apartment will be over 90 when she gets home after work tonight and it won't cool off much in the 2 hours between sunset and bedtime.

GURGLING IN THE PIPES!!!!

As I was writing that paragraph the radiator pipes began to gurgle. That's the first step to the chilled water being piped through the system and is usually a very good sign.

I seem to have run out of steam this afternoon after lunch when I laid down to rest a bit.
I did get the bird bath cleaned used baking soda this time. It worked pretty well on the roof so hope it does at well on the bird bath.
I nearly have my steps in for today.
I could work on the creativity room but the liv. room needs dusted so there's that still to do.
I did work some on the table got a bit of sorting done and items to go in creativity room are on a tray now that helps.
Got the last two rooms vacuumed upstairs yea!
The rest break must have helped.

I ran out of steam after lunch too, lucylee and nancy. That was about 3 pm for me; I got home from work around 2. Except, I really did nothing. . . I dozed off and on a bit. I'm going to squeeze in a bit of a walk now and then I'll get dinner when I'm back.

DD12 is making consistent progress in her bedroom.

I am experimenting with boiled linseed oil in the garden. Garden tools, metal furniture and concrete blocks are my current experiments for applying the oil. I am creating designs and writing words using linseed oil on concrete blocks. Will it work in the long term? I have no idea but I'm having fun with trying out unusual ways to use it.

I have a VBS planning meeting @6pm then worship with church family @6:30pm.

Hello again. Nancy, I apologize for getting in front of you. Times says 1 minute difference. Kathryn, thanks for merging it. I figured out how that happened. When I brought up the page and logged in I began reading posts, wondering how come there was 2 pages already...then I figured out it was yesterday's page. Ok, so I'll start something I guess. I looked below to see who else was logged in, but I'd been there for a little bit reading, and didn't refresh the page first. In that time Nancy must have come in and it didn't register on my page. If I'd known you were here I'd have waited. Your title was way better than mine! Yes, anti-P day. Much needed.

Anyway, it was a successful day. The house inspector's wife got her forms done really quick and sent it off to the insurance agent... and a copy should be in my email too. She immediately called to let me know there was one issue with the windows on the garage doors not being impact resistant glass...so we lost almost $200 of credit not being able to claim all our shutters and impact glass. The rest of the stuff still gave us credits, all the metal fasteners on the trusses, etc. As I was surprised about this, I went looking for the original plan and I couldn't find engineering on the windows/doors so I called the garage door company. Looking at the date and model, she says back then impact glass wasn't available and it still isn't for our doors. So he was right.

Agent said to give her a little time and then come down and sign all the applications. So I did that and wrote a couple big checks...and this big huge thing is off my mind for a year! YAY! I knew 6 months ago our homeowners was not going to be renewed and I had to find another... and the usual update to our car ins. was coming due but she found twice the insurance for half the price, so that made up for some of the increase in the homeowners. When I was home I told DH this is what I did and we're all set and didn't give him a chance to complain! Kinda proud of myself that I managed to figure this all out by myself.

A block away from the insurance office is the supermarket so I did a shopping before coming home. Boy I'm really tired tonight!

We keep our temp inside about 78 or 79. I click it down a degree or two if I'm working really hard and getting hot. We have ceiling fans in most of our room that we use to get cooled off when we come in from working outside. RRose, I can't put linens in the garage. Too hot and humid out there and they smell musty or moldy pretty quick. We also don't put stuff we really care about, especially candles, up in the attic space where it's even hotter. I had a white flocked 8' Christmas Tree turn all brown from the heat out there.

Lucylee, there's a couple kinds of home inspections. Insurance companies don't require anything, except if one wants credits for hurricane mitigating hardware, impact glass and/or shutters, hurricane clips on all the trusses so the roof doesn't blow off in a storm, etc. and like us if one thing doesn't meet the requirement, maybe something else does. Anybody can have an inspector come take pictures and fill out the report to get the credit. The other inspection is something only our state insurance company requires. For that he took pictures of the labels on our air handler, hot water tank, and our electric panel box, plus he looked at all our plumbing to see that there were shut off valves at each. The state insurance is only for those who can't get insurance from any other company; it's the company of last resort.

Happy Birthday Harriet!!

I thought I had to go to DMIL/DSIL's house today. Good thing I was going to wait until after the bank opened. DSIL sent me a text about something, I checked my emails and Canada Post tracking, and discovered that something that was pronounced "lost" to my DSIL and "in transit" to me by 2 different CanPost employees was miraculously "Found" and "Out for Delivery" in less than 24 hours after we both talked to CanPost. DSIL sent me a text saying it had been delivered this afternoon. I'm sure I will sleep better tonight.

I also thought DD and her SO were headed to her cousin's new place today. I texted her and discovered that she wasn't going today.

Therefore I had a "free" day. I decided to cut the grass first. After that I took myself out to shop for some books. Went into Winners/Marshalls and found a white linen top that fit and 2 pairs of linen shorts. One pair is white and the other pair is light blue. Everything fit very nicely, although the top is a bit too sheer, I plan on wearing tank tops underneath. Not only because of the sheerness, but also for a bit of colour. I also went in an office store and found a really nice office chair to replace what I currently have, which needs to be replaced in the worst way.

I picked up a dagwood for dh and I to share for supper. It is very good and very filling. 2 kinds of real cheese and 4 kinds of meat. (Ham, roast beef, turkey and salami.)

Thanks so much for all the kind thoughts! Yes, the best 67 I can be. I told ds when he called that this business of trying to get younger every year was getting a little harder, lol.

I'm just popping over to the Symbols thread to get cute images, Dee. I'm not so clever, lol.

I did finish the devotional book on less stress. The instructions essentially boiled down to "let go and let God". She thinks that letting go means dropping out of the workforce, I believe "letting God" includes using the gifts God gave me. I am not sure how her husband is supposed to live with less stress. It is supposed to be part of a Proverbs 31 ministry. The woman in Proverbs 31 has her own business and handles investments. Note that "she considers a field and buys it", not "she considers a field, begs her husband to take a look, asks his advice, and ultimately says 'yes, dear' to whatever he decides".

Elizabeth, you made a good point about it being a questionable answer to stress to avoid it by not working. Hmmm... .. How many different types of our work in life, then, will we avoid - shall we move to a deserted island? Women's studies on just one scripture only go so far, anyway. I think it's important to remember that "the Proverbs 31 woman" is a nice poem written by a man/men who shared some good qualities he had noticed. It's not one of our many examples of real women to emulate. It has a lot of worth as a study, of course, but certainly does not measure up to studying women we have actually been given as examples, what they did, and how they were called/affirmed in their work. It's a gem of beautifully written literature from the Hebrew Bible, but as far as a comparison to a study of the contribution of, for instance, Deborah, it's apples and oranges.

I was almost ready to post this and ds' family came over with a gag gift (singing stuffed animal) and visited a good while. I enjoyed ddil, who doesn't get to come as often.

We had a lunch delivered mid-day, and HRH had added 2 individual strawberry shortcakes which were huge and full of fresh strawberry slices, eye-popping. Just about the right birthday cake. Starting off my 8th year of vegetarian life. Had no cheese today, and thinking about whether I could cut it out. It would make weight maintenance easier.
