Re: Friday with Friends
Dee is also on my mind today.
I woke up around five 5:15
Today I am reminded that in a month we would have celebrated our 50th wedding ann. so I am thinking of how I can make the day special. I have time to figure out a way to mark that day. I can ponder that on my walk.
I have watered did my planning some journalinging, still need to do today.
Only 5 days till school is out done and over all that is left are play days for dgd#3, dgson is cutting wood to sell for one summer job,
another is helping his dad build a new house for their family, and working in a cafe' for his 3rd summer.
I have watered in front.
Bujo entry next up.
Dee I remember that last week of lh life I had to deal with leaking toilets, I had to be here for the repair man to come.
Dson said to come home my dog needed me and he went up for a day to be there.
LM Thank you for the start today.
I am looking forward to my Free Day Friday.
Glad for the stuff I did earlier to have it free.
I did get in an early walk with ddog it was cool and plesant!

Re: Friday with Friends
Good morning.
Thanks for opening the village Lady M. Yes, thinking of Dee & family.
((Nancy))
Enjoying a mug of cocoa after watering plants. We haven't had rain for a while & none in the forecast, so watered all the landscaping in front of the house, too. Dh has been adding water to the birdbath 2 or 3 times each afternoon. Praying we don't have a drought situation like last year, but our grass is already turning brown.
My Zones for this first week of the month are Living Room, Guest Room, & Front Hall Closet. I am washing winter & fleece coats. There is harder work to do in the closet (I haven't cleaned out the top storage shelves in a very long time) but Fridays are also my Free Days so I'm choosing instead to focus on an easier task -- straightening up in the living room & poking through drawers in the end tables to see what I can declutter & organize.
Elizabeth, so sorry that you had to deal with Covid issues on vacation, & then ended up getting it yourself. Hope you feel much better soon.
Happy belated birthday to Dee -- sorry it was not a good day for you or dh. Glad neighbors are looking out for you. I'm sorry that Mr Dee had to go to the hospital again. Praying often for you both.
Harriet, Happy belated birthday to you, too. Glad you had a good medical appointment recently. You made me laugh when you posted, "You would think I'm not important on such evenings, but I know where all the little screwdrivers are."
Congrats to the young graduates at Lady M's home!
Happy belated anniversary to Harmony & dh. Glad you were able to get insurance after house inspection.
Cathy, congrats on being elected Treasurer of your craft group. What a lot of work you had to put into organizing all the previous paperwork. Hope your dh gets a good report on his echo test.
Nancy, you mentioned straightening throws & pillows because ddog was playing on the couch. I could picture her having fun up there & it made me smile.
Glad you are having a fun time at your convention, Twins!
Hope your workload eases soon, Mystery.
Hope all is well with Blessed, dh, dds & ddogs. Thinking of you.
More stove discussions:
Kathryn, I never thought of getting a counter top oven. It would take up too much space if it was left out permanently, but you mentioned moving yours to the balcony so I could store mine elsewhere when it's not in use. This time of year I'm making us more salads than roasted veggies but it is definitely a consideration for this fall & winter. Thanks for the idea.
Rosie, glad you reinforced my decision not to get a double oven. I'm sorry you got burned so many times --ouch! I also confess to thinking ahead to when dh & I get another puppy or dog. Our last ddog shed so much that if I didn't stay on top of vacuuming her hair would swirl around the tiled kitchen floor. With a double oven I would have worried that some of that hair would end up in the bottom oven, or even worse, in food that might be cooking there. Congrats on your race results!
Hello to everyone. Hope you have a wonderful day.

Re: Friday with Friends
I suspect I am slipping into depression. I need to be vigilant in my thoughts and actions to pull myself out of this funk. I find it much too easy to lose track of time and not realize what I am spending my time on and what actions I am not doing. I quit tracking my food 10 days ago which resulted in gaining 6 lbs. Eating cr*p has resulted in feeling like cr*p. No shocking surprise there. I need the accountability of staying on top of my self-care.
We are in a phase of raising kids where they are taking up a lot of my time. I get no time to myself unless I count the occasional hour here and there a couple times a week. It is hard to get focused on doing something with constant interruptions. DS14 left for work 75 minutes ago and has called me 2 times and came home once during that time. I know how to thrive in this constant distraction environment by breaking things I am doing into small segments and tracking them to completion. I just need to track better.
Knowing what to do and doing it are two entirely different things. I need to excel at both so I can get out of this low feeling and back into my normal self.

Re: Friday with Friends
I hope my depressionn post doesn't bring anyone down. I am trying to recognize the signs and do something about it before it becomes overwhelming.
I have fixed a large bowl of chicken, pasta, cheese sauce for the family meal. I'm not eating it because my body will love the taste but won't feel good because of the pasta and high calorie sauce. I'm back to cooking two different menus. One for me and one for the family.
I am going to take myself to the library in the next town and see if that helps with getting some time alone where I can think without interruption. The problem is it is only 5 miles from my home so I will know almost everyone there. I don't want to be social while I'm tring to get focused. Maybe I can find a corner with my back to the public and can hunker down to get some things done. If this doesn't work then I'll drive to the city where I know less people and have more places to be alone.

Dee I have been thinking about you all morning. (((Dee and family)))
We have been for groceries, been to the bakery for sliced meats and cheese because grocery store doesn't have that department since Covid started. Then we went for breakfast. Overheard the only waitress telling a customer (who said he was an 86 year old widower) that she was 75. The food was amazing. We had never been to this very small restaurant before. They don't take debit or credit cards and their home fries are "real potatoes" according to the waitress.

Dishes never stop.
Laundry never stops.
Litter boxes never stop.
Paper never stops.

Re: Friday with Friends
(LadyM) forgive yourself for failing and make a decision to just start over. Go to your happy place (your garden?). Maybe you just need to get away by yourself for a little bit. You have so much responsibility and you add to that all the time with your church work. I have wondered how you add all that to your busy life. LadyM, my library is a happy place for me. Quiet and peaceful. Have a good day.
Elizabeth, yes I have checked all my files and still no statement. If this goes on too many days I will just add together the invoices and pay that and include a note that my statement did not arrive.
Other problem I've encountered: I have a lot of new emails from both insurance companies, the inspection person and the insurance agent. The homeowners said I needed to set up an online account - they want me to go paperless too. #$%^&*()!!! I sincerely tried. I set up a password (they said it was strong) and picked 2 questions and answered according to their guidelines and I wrote everything down along with my user name they assigned... and it didn't work. They said my email addy was wrong..no it isn't, it's perfect. They said my zip code is wrong...no it isn't, it's perfect too. I checked the application and everything matches just the way it was submitted. So, I was not able to get a copy of my policy and not able to get it linked to my account.
It's wonderful to go paperless. If the requirements to do so are easy and accurate and work! I guess I will have to bother the Agent again.
Dumb question: is it possible to get an email report into my documents on this computer? I'd like to get the inspector report there in case I ever lose his emailed report... and I can probably print it out with all the pictures, but if it's not in some electronic form I'll never be able to share it with another company.
And I was so frustrated yesterday I fear I repeated myself with my last 2 posts! One good thing that happened yesterday is that DH went off to help somebody take down a couple branches hanging over their carport. He took his chain saw and they put the ladder up in the bed of the truck to get them up higher, and someone did the sawing. A young fellow there (someone he knew from Youth Group years ago) came back here with DH and went up on that roof and fixed that one shingle that was curled up. So we did not have to go up there, me or DH, and I am very very grateful for that miracle.
We'll see what today holds. I will probably be peeking in now and then to see the news.

Back from errands and have my new gift card on the spot it needs to go and order has been placed successfully as far as I can tell.
Got food & Rx.
Had lunch ch. wings have not had em in forever so yummy.
Got food put away.
Kitchen needs more attn.
Found an undated garden planner I can use multiple years.
Pruned roses a bit by the west gate & arbor so I could get through without getting them in the face.

Re: Friday with Friends
I am watching dgrands in the pool. Right now we are the only ones here — when we got here, there was a girl, her mom, and her 4-yr-old. ***embarrassed emoji***
I introduced myself to the girl. She was a former student.
I hate when that happens.
Plus — I graduated with her mom!!!
And her husband graduated with ds!!!
I worry about myself sometimes— there are lots of times this happens and I don’t recognize someone I’m supporting know.
But in my defense, the mom was farther away and of course they were both wearing sunglasses… and I didn’t even know they had a membership at the pool.
\o/
Anyway, kids are having fun.
(((LadyM))) IKWYM — everybody needs some quiet time!!! And it gets so frustrating when you are interrupted at every turn. Sometimes we all need to remember to put our own oxygen masks on first.
We hear thunder, and we’ve been here a couple hours. We’re going to go home now.

If it is a file attached to an email you can download a copy to any place you want to keep it. If the information is included inside of an email, you can save it several different ways. Screen capture is one possible way. Doing a cut/paste of the email information into a word document and then saving that word file is another way.is it possible to get an email report into my documents on this computer?
I would find online or request their email addy so you could send email to them first and they would be able to just hit reply and have your email addy. That way you know they have the correct email address.
