I've been awake since around 5. I thought I could get some paperwork done, but the composting/garbage and recycling were calling my name. The back of the truck is loaded with all the garbage because it's going to the landfill, along with a pile of stuff that was on the patio that dh said he would take. The recycling is at the end of the driveway. Not enough in the compost bin to take to the end of the driveway. It can wait until next week.


I have no idea what is for supper.

The sky seems a bit clearer today, but the AQI charts says it's worse today than it was yesterday.

Ack! Final Jeopardy music! I can do absolutely nothing when that music plays - isn't that odd. It makes my brain freeze, unless actually looking at the question on the screen and holding that in my head. Used for other things, I am useless

A couple times a day I look at our J and C postings and see that Dee has not been able to come back in. Dd24 asked if it might be hard for her to post if she did not stay in her RV but was perhaps staying with someone else while the smoke was difficult. I don't suppose anyone has heard from her ddJ on any other (like fb social) media?

Smoke reports have me concerned about all. On HRH's live chat conference last evening, I chatted for a while with his friend north of Kathryn, about the situation there, which is not as bad as he has learned about his own acquaintances in NY. He told me not to worry about him, but others had it rough. He is arranging his life so that he stays home for work, etc.

Elizabeth, the word "congestion" along with your word "heavy" might convey the right tone. I hope you get some answers. Mucinex comes to mind as a help, but even better to get someone to listen to chest in person and think it through with you.

Well, Cathy did ask... .. HRH wants to go out.
HRH wants to visit hospital again to see R, unless she has gotten home temporarily, which would be a better visit. R likes to do what are called "Fill-In Puzzles" - lists of about 70 words that should fit into a grid. They are hard because there are no clues about where the different words go. I hadn't seen them before. I searched online and found 2 nice, current paperback books of them. I'm pretty sure I got the right thing because she let me have one page of hers that she had finished. They arrived yesterday and HRH is determined to get them to her soon. He also has to go to a county office near there at some point and says it might as well be today. Not my favorite errand, but okay.

I very much need to talk to ddil today to find out what the plan is for our green-eyed boy's graduation from elementary school.

Thanks Cathy! I've cut and pasted it as a post on its own since we were on page 2 and not everyone would see the edit on page 1 if one was just hitting refresh.

Here's the news:

Good Morning all. This is DeeClutter's daughter writing this message. My dad, her DH passed away Friday night. As we were on our way to the hospital Friday morning, my mom suddenly became unresponsive. I was less than a 1/4 mile from the hospital when this occurred. The drs thought at first is was a massive stroke or a heart attack. As it turns out it was neither. She has been diagnosed with "Broken Heart Syndrome". As of this writing, Tuesday morning at 9 a.m. she remains on a ventilator. The plan is to try to take her off that today. She is improving. The reason she became unresponsive was an unusual heart rhythm. The doctors have shared the next step is placing a defibrillator as soon as she is stable. They are telling us she should be able to leave the hospital pretty close to the condition she was in before this happened which was good. Wanted to share this with people she considered her friends. Please keep her in your prayers. She doesn't know about my dads passing yet. (Although I think deep down she knows.)

There are times when the limits of being a virtual village instead of a physical one are really upsetting. Today is one of those times.

We are in AQHI of 1 (on a scale of 1 - 10+). Yesterday morning it was in the high 20s on that scale so this is a pleasant break. I say break because the winds will shift again some time on the weekend and we'll go back into the smoke. For now, my windows are all open despite the faint smell of smoke and the apartment is cooling down. It was never too hot, just mid 70's, but it was very stuffy. Right now it is 68 and it feels good to be cold (I'm not dressed yet today!)

It is also nice to see my view again even if it is a heavy, overcast, day.

I had put away my SAD light just last week as I attempted to tidy my desk. Yesterday I considered pulling it out again since the smoke was so oppressive and the clouds today are the same. I'll try and skip it and go for a walk instead but I will keep reminding myself it is an option.

Today is lunch with my childhood best friend. Last night I connected on FB with a neighbour from my childhood. She posted a comment to a friend I had while in the village. I'm curious as to how they know each other. She, of course, didn't know me by name since I used a shortened version of my first name online plus it is my married name as my last name. And my pic is usually of my view but currently of me as a toddler. I recognized her right off even though she has changed the spelling of both her first and last names because my sister had friended her on FB so I have been seeing posts from her.

Thanks K in C for the update. I had wondered if that might be the case have heard of others that collapse & end up in hosp. at the time of a spouse passing. Some from exhaustion & toll it takes on them. Praying for the family. My friend said it took her a yr. to recover after her lh passed from old-timers a 10+ process. More like 15 she said.

It it cloudy here and we have t - storms in the forecast. I will do stat bike or gazelle for exercise I think. Ddog is hiding in her safe room. Rain would be welcome here.

I am glad it is cool here. I have decided to do lady bugs on the painted rocks so am waiting for the part under the eyes to dry. They are fun to paint and fast do not take much time except for the steps and drying between. I brought paints back in from the shed last night it is too hot in there for them.

I slept well and was in bed till 6:00 a. m. this morning. I have not done my journaling qt or planning.

My dsis is helping with vbs in her town this week made a new friend doing the kitchen work there.
I am sort of treading water with the garden and decluttering I have meals planned for the next few days so no need for groc. run.
Someone needs to do the floors here & bwp that would be me I am the cleaning lady gardener cook etc. LOL! Gotta go switch hats.

I feel like the wind has been sucked out of my sails. Ditto to all that was said.

Three tragedies in two weeks for all I care for. Shaking my head and need time to process this.m
