Ramblin', when my dmother was dying, but before I had admitted to myself that we only had a day or two, a man appeared in the doorway to her room - an old friend's husband. She told me exactly who and it sounded familiar but I was only worried, not interested. She was so delighted to see him, but admitted he wasn't actually in conversation with her, or she would ask all about their family. What a mistake I made not to write down his name, ask her to tell me again how we knew the family, etc. As it was, I forgot the name in the flurry of things that had to happen after her death.

Thank you for the thoughts.

Kathryn, I hadn't seen those particular quotes. I guess a lot of articles are in the offing. Yes, how wonderful when the Church simply emulates its early self, lives the way that was intended, all working together, having roles in common. Scot McKnight's question about the early church, "WDWD ?", is one we should be happy to answer. What Did Women Do? Well then, let's do that.

The trip was long since we seemed to run into every possible road construction problem. Ah, the orange-and-white striped "state flower" along the roadside, lol. I think a lot of places have those. One errand for HRH was to take papers to be filed at another county's courthouse, a pleasant errand. Lovely plantings and architecture to admire.

In further verification of my theory that everybody talks to my husband, a fellow who walked out at a similar time waited on HRH and struck up a conversation on the way back to the parking, so happy that a judge had just dropped all charges against him. Never saw the guy before in our lives, but he had to tell someone and of course, how convenient for him that there was HRH, who is just obviously the fellow you tell ... .. By the time we drove away, HRH knew all about it. Out of earshot to hear HRH's low voice, I heard the fellow finish up with, "I know it. I know it." And on the way home, out of the blue, my husband says, "He just needs to stop drinking. I told him." :| what?

Ack. I've chased a second bird out of the house today. One technically was only on the screened porch. We prop the screened porch door open about a foot for the ddog to go in and out. The first one, only on the porch, I chased out. The second one came flying into the house, followed by the dog. I didn't chase it out - the dog kept getting the bird in its mouth and it was injured. I finally got it in a towel and put it in the garbage can to die. I feel really bad doing that, and I feel bad that the dog got it, but I feel totally frazzled today.

We need a dog door!

And, I knew I had fresh mozzarella in the refrigerator, but unfortunately, it had green stuff growing on it. I've substituted shredded mozzarella which is no substitute but it's the best I can do right now. So I'm starting another grocery list.

Dh is upstairs on a Zoom meeting for Rotary. Last night we ate out. And Tuesday night he bowled. He's planning to go to services tomorrow night but I probably won't go.

Tomorrow is another day.

The wind changed and suddenly the AQI cleared from unhealthy for everyone to good. It will get really bad again overnight and be awful tomorrow if the winds don't hold (and they aren't forecast to) but this was a pleasant break.

Dinner was made easier when we found leftover fries from various fast food meals in our freezer so we just had to heat up stuff and make a salad and dish up some fruit for our dinner.

I'm sooooo tired. Dh is busy trying to get AI to draw me a slide for my power point. His first couple of attempts were quite good (either would do in a pinch.)

The storm has come and gone. The storm had all the predicted hail/wind/tornadoes, but it didn't hit my town. I opened the cellar door and turned the light on, then we went outside to watch the storm happen and listen. It has been my experience that listening is the best way to know if a tornado is nearby.

I can't believe these storms. One's in Lucylee's backyard or nearby at least. OK had one in OK City. There is one close to Mystery. There is a storm mess in northern panhandle of Texas, a lot of rubble there. We are having a red sunset here. LadyM, I'm glad they skipped your town.

Everything's locked up for the night. I've filled up Rx/vitamin boxes (mine) for 3 weeks.

Twins, sorry about the poor bird. Are you sure it's dead out there? We had a little dog door at our last house but it was for our 2 cats who lived in the lanai and went in and out. They're quite convenient. Our back porch is not screened. The birds come in and sit on the backs of our chairs. We get some kind of black birds every night. They come and go through our yard getting something out of the grass. We have no idea what they're getting. There's not even any seeds in there, DH pulls them all out and the grass gets cut before the seeds grow. Don't know what kind of birds they are either. Too small for crows or starlings.

So tomorrow's another day. We will try to get outside before it gets so hot. Means I gotta get up early. Uggg.

Seems like the storms are missing us again, but we’ve had some watches again. Hope all our other SHEs stay safe too!

Harmony, I am worried about YOU on top of that truck! For goodness sake, please be careful!
Tomorrow is another day.
