First! Friday PWYC
"First!" used to be a common first post in Reddit posts when a podcast host would open a post for fans to discuss the latest episode. That would be all the post would say and it would be posted moments after the podcast would be available so it was obviously they had nothing more to add to the topic because they hadn't listened to the podcast. It is sort-of the equivalent of calling 'shotgun' - just a childish thing. I haven't seen it for a couple of years so wonder if the original people doing it have now grown up and have lives beyond hoping to be first post, despite having nothing to say on a topic. And the younger folks are a bit more mature or less whimsical.
Anyway, I don't really have anything to say today but will be first so that those of you who have something to share but are too busy to open a daily thread will have a place to post!

Re: First! Friday PWYC
I'm vertical.
I took my ADD meds (I put 2 of them in my vitamin dispenser, one for today and another for tomorrow - I usually keep them in a child proof container next to the dispenser since they are so dangerous to the grands but there are no grands in the forecast.)
Last night I got a mass email out. It took 90 minutes to write it and everything that could go wrong, did during the writing, I couldn't find the info to go in it, I couldn't find the graphics I had, and I couldn't think. It was like pulling teeth. Then I was to make a poster (which involved changing the date on the previous version) and that, plus a sheet with just the group name for the suggestion box, took another 75 minutes due to major printing issues. Thankfully, I did have more toner available to get the colour printer working (it won't work if any colour is out, whether or not you want that colour in your picture.)
So I went to bed late. Windows are shut due to smoke and it looks awful out there but the monitoring says it isn't bad. On the other hand, it said it was still bad yesterday when it looked lovely yesterday after the wind shift. I'm starting to not trust the government readings.
The apartment is stuffy but not hot.
I still have a ton of stuff to do today so I'll head off now and get going on that. First up, s2s.

Re: First! Friday PWYC
I slept in a bit. I was up about 7:30 and then dozed another hour.
The only thing on my schedule today is body work so I'm having a quiet day. I am not going to services at temple tonight, even if dh goes. He's off work on Monday so it's a long weekend and I need to carve out space where I can. Based on weather, we'll probably go to the river tomorrow with dfriends. Sunday we are having brunch with ds, then dh has to pick up a bowling ball before 2 p.m. Monday looks cloudy, rainy right now. It wouldn't bother me to stay home but dh was hoping earlier in the week for another river day.
So today is quiet. I perhaps should take my OMM list and do an Eisenhauer matrix and start dealing with what is important vs urgent vs neither. The trouble is, I wouldn't have written it down unless it was important to me....

THIRD!
>>> while laughing with glee about the silliness <<<<<
Kathryn - Thank you for the start
Today is my last day of intentionally doing less. Although I ended up having something that I needed to do/go every day, it was a good mental break.
DD12 returns from camp this evening and I am looking forward to seeing her and having her back home.
Yesterday I used DD12 noise blocking headphones to see if they are something that would be a benefit to me. It was a good experiment and I learned how valuable they are to have a break from noise. I purchased my own headset.

I'm dressed. Bedroom tidied. Dh's second Sherpa shirt (brand name technical hiking base layer) is missing and I searched his and my closet and drawers and can't find it. It feels like one of my undershirts so it was possible I had taken it but can't find it.
I can't believe it, the landlord is holding a resident appreciation lunch the day of the evening BBQ (the point of the email and posters I did last night) so that effort is mostly wasted and we have to come up with a new idea and/or date. So there's a flurry of emails happening here and I'm not getting anything else done.
I'm working on 15s at the moment to get the apartment tidy enough to take pictures of the windows for my window covering shopping appointment tomorrow.
Dh is out walking now. Visibility is poor but not as bad as last week when Ottawa had the world's worst AQI (before ceding the title to NYC when our smoke arrived there.)

Re: First! Friday PWYC
Yes, I still see "First!" sometimes on daily-ish youtubes to which some people are subscribed, and therefore notified. I don't ever hurry, but do check at times to see what someone interesting is interested in that day. It isn't lost on me that there is value in seeing something "early". If later I see that that particular one became a very popular video, it is amusing to think I saw it before the crowd knew they liked it.
Laundry is still spinning here.
I was invited to a one-hour nutrition webinar at 2:00, and because the admission was a charitable donation, that actually got my pocketbook into it, so I am pretty sure I'll attend this one. lol I didn't submit questions, and I really, really don't want to be on view, but I'm glad to get to "go".
Don't know if that messes HRH's plans up, since he sent me a link to a local eyeglasses shop yesterday. We just got our new prescriptions and both of us have slight changes. He won't want to go on the weekend.
I hope today brings strength to those dear villagers and husbands on our recovery list.

Dropped off hammer. Am dealing with a lot of residents stuff today. That was not on my morning list.
I see the morning is almost gone.
Switching to bill paying.

Re: First! Friday PWYC
I walked around our home and did a storm damage assessment. We made it through without much damage. Just the normal tree leaves/branches laying everywhere. DD47 had more damage. Her home had part of the roof ripped off, about 50 holes in siding where the 3" hail hit, half of an exceptionally large tree is down, and the refrigerator quit working. There is so much storm damage that getting an insurance adjuster onsite takes days.
