Mindful Monday
Merged topic this morning, as two of us were great minds thinking alike!
What are you minding today? What makes you mindful?
It's Juneteenth in US, and dd24 is mindful of that, with the day off, so I'm happy she'll be around. She and a work friend will be the ones among us doing something to really mark the holiday, and that will be brief. Others in our family don't have it off - her sister and fiancée both work. So afterward, dd24 will be giving some time to this household, YAY, with extra time for going through her items stored here. I heard more about Juneteenth when I lived in Texas.
My priority for her to concentrate on with us is clearing the screened porch, if possible, of some boxes she has there.

Re: Monday - reset your week - June 19th
New week mindful of my tasks I have entered in my planner this morning.
Up early 4:00 thought it was five
I have bread rising had bfast.
Cooler today no pilot lite so note to self to have that done before fall.
It was just a test.
I am thankful for a better mood for me today.
Feeling better and great sleep.
Focused on kitchen to make room for things I actually use instead of having them out on the counter.
Some progress done.
Grats done.
bujo "
Next up
s2s
dress
more bread to make maybe rolls
cookies / for dgson when he works here as per request.
Walk later.
Then dig out flowers by deck so the do not get walked on when that work happens.
Not sure about the grape yet deciding on it.

Re: Monday - reset your week - June 19th
This is another one of those weeks with a Monday holiday and we'll be confused all week. And I personally resent getting a short week right after returning from a trip, when I need down time, lol. (I'm appreciative of the new Federal holiday, just guarding my own time.)
Dh has gone to the office for a while. We had rain overnight and the day looks ominous and gray. I need to get to the grocery store today.
I'm moving slowly this morning. No guests last night - dfriends were "glued to their couch" on their own screened porch. I'm periodically envious that their screened porch is shady but otoh they don't have a view. The western sun comes with our view.
Dmilliie got into it last night with Boston from next door. She's "resource guarding" meaning that was guarding her toy. She's gotten antsy with him about her food and house so we don't let Boston in the house but drawing a hard line. She seemed stunned afterward and was bleeding a little from the mouth, so I'm not sure what went down. I pulled them apart. So this a.m. I've texted a trainer about working with us.
I took out some freezer burned steak for our supper. We'll see if it's edible since it's just for us.
Dh walked ddog earlier but I'm going to do so again. I need steps too. I need to get on with a.m. routine and brunch and the day. I don't get started until late morning then I peter out as soon as our supper is over.

Good morning.
blessed, it's so good to see you here!
I've reset my alarm an hour earlier starting today so I can walk before it gets too hot.
Hi Harriet, so nice that dd will be with you today. I'm mindful that I have only a small window of time left to work in my attic because of the coming summer heat. I did a big declutter a few years ago but didn't make it all the way around the space & never went back & finished. Still have a few storage cabinets that I never got to. I know there is Christmas china (which I'll keep) & travel misc in one of them but also other misc decor pieces & things I've forgotten about that can probably be donated.
Hi Nancy -- I can imagine how good your kitchen smells when you bake bread.
Glad dMillie is OK, Twins, & that you weren't bitten pulling the dogs apart.
Zone 4 is Office & Dining Room for me, & Mondays are Desk Day & Clothes Laundry. My desktop definitely needs to be cleaned of misc notes & papers -- hardly any wood is showing.
Laundry isn't happening today because the hamper isn't full. This happens in warmer weather when we switch to T shirts & shorts & I end up doing laundry on various days. In winter most of the time the hamper fills up in exactly one week, so then it usually is done on Mondays.
I'm behind here in PWYC again, but have been peeking in frequently to check to see if there are any updates on ((Dee)).
Want to wish a Happy (belated) Birthday to Elizabeth!
Bank runaround you had to deal with sounded so frustrating, Mystery.
Rose, I enjoyed reading about your wild birds & their babies. I looked up pics of very young baby herons & baby moorhens -- too cute.
I hope your Graceland trip works out, Lucylee. Dh & I visited there once years ago & I've read since then that they offer a tour of the horse stable now so I'd like to go back someday.
Cathy, what great prices you got on your flowers. We comparison shopped for the best prices & still paid $5.00 for geraniums & $25.00 for hanging baskets. For many years we bought flowers much cheaper at a flea market but the vendors aren't there anymore.
Lady M, I'm so glad that the recent tornado missed you. Sorry to read that your dd46 & others in your area had so much damage.
Dinner tonight is thawed sliced turkey breast (leftovers from Thanksgiving). I baked pork chops the other day & made mashed potatoes & stuffing to go with, knowing that this turkey meal was on the menu plan. Love when making dinner is this easy. Just need to add a veggie, cranberry sauce & gravy.
I'm off to check J & C & then pick up where I left off here in PWYC -- p 3 of Friday the 16th.
~~~ Waving to everyone! Hope you all have a wonderful day.
Re: Monday - reset your week - June 19th
Morning...
I had a slow start this morning although I did make my class. Had to really force myself to go because I didn't sleep very well last night and woke up tired.
Did some of my morning routines before I left, but finished picking up my footprints after I got home and ate my breakfast.
I have several errands I need to run after lunch. I finally received my new athletic shoes in the mail, but they are too small. I will take them back to the store and ask that they reorder the same pair only a half size larger. Then I want to stop at our WM neighborhood store to pick up some soup. I need to restock my pantry as we are now in hurricane season. I have everything else I need including bottled water and extra cash. Don't want to wait until if and when a storm is on its way.
I told Sweetie he needs to go with me as he hasn't been out of the house, with the exception of feeding our little friends for a few days. Although he walks 2 miles every night, he needs that extra stimulation.
We did get 8' of rain yesterday and my lake is as high as it was after the hurricane. Its extremely humid here right now and it suppose to rain again later this afternoon.
~~~~waving Hello to all~~~~~
Dh covid day #3 continues with mild symptoms. We did another covid test this morning and it immediately showed positive. All his health markers are normal (temperature, blood sugar, blood pressure, pulse, oxygen level). He has sinus congestion similar to allergies and has low energy. He continues to do his daily household chores (dishes & duds) but is spending most of his waking hours relaxing & resting. This morning I called our family doctor's office to ask for their recommendation. They only treat the symptoms and since DH doesn't have any, they recommend we keep doing what we are doing. They don't give antiviral meds with DH lack of symptoms.
Yesterday i started having cold like symptoms so I started taking Mucinex and gargling with salt water. I tested myself this morning and I remain covid negative.
Today starts DD12 summer schedule. One of the things is for her to list 5 things she will do today. Her initial list showed that she is a very inventive child.
It is a process to learn life skills.
I am trying to back into the groove with using my hourly schedule. I do enjoy having it and like the positive & frequent feedback it gives me. However, it also lets me know when I space out and let time pass without acknowledging it.
I am cooking country style ribs and baked potatoes today. We also have salad bar ingredients ready to eat.

Re: Monday - reset your week - June 19th
Only have yesterday's post to catch up on now. Quick post & run now before prepping for lunch. Realized I'm hungry earlier because I was up an hour earlier this morning.
Hi Rose, sending energy for your errand run.
Lady M, I'm sorry dh has covid. Praying no else in the family gets it.
Lucylee, your skunk encounter made me wonder if it could have rabies, as that behaviour of approaching humans (& sometimes attacking) happens often when wildlife has that.
Speaking of wildlife, dh told me he saw on the news that a bear in Colorado climbed up the side of a house & went inside through an open 2nd story window.
((Harmony)), so sorry you had such a rough day with the truck/gutter fiasco while trying to paint, & having more unexpected chores today with tractor problems.
Cathy, I looked up pics of all the flowers you mentioned, & Harriet's Bubblegum Vista Supertunia, too. All so pretty. An interesting pic of a purple hosta with dark blue & red leaves popped up while I was searching the flower pics. I've never seen anything like it.

Re: Monday - reset your week - June 19th
I'm going on to the grocery store now. I tried to walk the dog - started out in very light rain and increased so turned back within two houses of home.
And later....
back from grocery. And I hear dh opening the garage door.
Rain was fierce coming down on the way home from the store. I got the car loaded in a light rain and then the bottom dropped out.
Don't know what the rest of the day holds. I must work on the power point presentation though.

Hi!
I cut the grass this morning. I went to knitting after that. Then I went and picked up an ice cream cake with lots of blue icing on it. Special treat for dh's birthday later this week. He can start with a small slice today as it's very hot here. I also got a frozen A&W root beer. Dh had 1 last week and raved about it. I don't like it. I also picked up a Subway sub for my lunch because I didn't have breakfast.
No idea what's for supper. Not pasta.
