I did go to the church yard sale after all, and to the store for a few things and a diff. yd. sale on the way home.
By nine ish it was already getting warm out.
I have fans & a/c on now..
I got chicken and need to peel my eggs.
I got more but our gathering is not till mid week so I will wait to boil the ones up for that if that's the thing I take.
I scored some great side tables to paint. One is inside I will bring the other one in but I want to decide on a color first.

We have sun in the forecast all next week.

I had special foods today napped.
Painted the new to me bedside table tops.
Watering the backyard.
Did up some laundry.
Kitchen needs attn.
It is very windy.

We are enjoying a break from the heat. It is only 89F today. It returns to the high 90's tomorrow. It is less than triple digits, so my mind doesn't go into DANGER mode.

This morning DH took the zero-turn mower into the back yard jungle around my garden and got it into better shape. I use a battery powered mower and weedeater. They are wonderful tools for keeping up with the grass unless I have covid & get hurt and have to ignore mowing for couple weeks. Then the grassy area becomes a tall green jungle that is too much for my battery powered tools. Now that the powerful gas-powered mower/weedeater has the green jungle knocked down my battery powered mower/weedeater can maintain it.

DGS26 wants to meet and do something with me this afternoon. Hum....what to do?

Dh and I have both stood at the kitchen sink and helped each other wash our hair. I went out to the water tanks and had a cool rinse. It wasn't as warm as I had hoped, but thankfully this has happened in the summer, so I can do this.

I had a very long nap this afternoon. I missed a massive thunderstorm according to dh.

Hello! I am posting from our computer again. Lady put a new switch in, not where the other one was at the top of the tower, but ran a wire from inside the compartment where you'd put a tape or something (I have no idea about that) and then she just attached it to the front. It looks like a rough rigged up thing but I don't care, it works!The wire runs outside of that compartment which says media drive and we must be sure not to close that door, it might ruin the wire.

Glad to have it back. Wish she had fixed it when it first acted up.

DH came in and said to me, "did you know it is 98° out there today? If anybody wants me I'll be in the refrigerator." I asked him if he saw that on FB or a cartoon, but he said no he just made it up. Yes, it's been hot here. Fortunately the humidity, though high, isn't extraordinarily high. I put a LOL out to dry about 1:00 and at 7:00 I was able to bring it all in, all dry.

So, yesterday I got a couple pieces of cardboard in and flipped my jig saw over. Then I asked DH if I was doing it right to put the glue on the back and set the cardboard on it, then flip it over and do the front. Yes, but he wanted to use something different and went and hunted up a can of mastik. Let me tell you - don't ever try that on a puzzle! It's too thick and makes a royal mess and he thought both surfaces needed coated and that made another big huge mess... and now we're waiting for it to dry so I can flip it over and coat with the clear stuff. All because we didn't have any Elmers more liquid glue... and I wasn't in any hurry and could have gotten some... but here we are. The puzzle reminds me of my Aunt's farm I visited a few times when I was pretty little and a very nice picture. I'll use it part of the summer. My summer picture is very busy with a lot of colors and I get a bit tired of it. I hope he does a frame for me and I'll paint it sorta golden color, it will match the country roadway and the hay.

I have a snake story just for Harriet. DH was working in the yard out by the road and he saw a pretty big corn snake. It had a lot of yellow on it. He's not afraid of snakes and they usually only slither away from us...but this time there was a hawk-type bird eyeing it and DH wanted to protect it. The bird landed pretty close to this big snake and was eyeing it and he got in between them and encouraged the snake to get itself into the brush at the edges of the road so the bird couldn't get it. He said it was too big for the bird to eat anyway, but you never know. DH, the patron saint of all snakes around here!

I'm picking up my friend for church tomorrow and I enlarged a section of my map and printed it out so I wouldn't get lost this time.

Y’all, I am TIRED.
7 days out of the last 9 have been busy with dgrands and social stuff, travel, visiting cousins, etc etc etc till I’m about out of my mind — and tomorrow is Sunday, which sadly, is my hardest day of the week.

Plus, I talked to dmom today and I am depressed about her. SHE is depressed— she feels her mental capacities are declining, which I imagine is true… and she is beginning to doubt her driving ability… and she may need me to start buying groceries with her… and she may have to quit going anywhere (such as church) because she fears incontinence is becoming a serious problem. It’s just overwhelming me — she’s been talking this way for a few weeks now. I’m really kinda panicking about what the future holds for her (and me, in the caregiver/support person role I may find myself. This is NOT my strength.)

Plus my weight is creeping up again since I gave up diet drinks…

And visiting cousin may be returning soon, hopes to get his brother to meet him up here, and the brother will almost certainly stay with us. They need to do work on a family cemetery (other side of their family, no connection to us.)

So. I guess I’m just here to drop a cloud of gloom on everyone’s holiday weekend.
OTOH, I have started a new habit tracker with about 8 things I want to work on this month, and for today, I have all but one item checked off.
