Monday Motivation PWYC
Kathryn Here: I merged the two topics backwards - I meant to merge into Monday Motivation. Sorry,
It's Monday! Grab a handful of inspiration and get started.
this came across my feed this morning and reminded me to just do what I know that I should

Mastering Monday (and pray for Tuesday)
OK folks. Here we go.
1. The boards are running too slow.
2. I will run a repair database which might help.
3. We need to update the software that the boards run on (currently we are running 3.x and currently 8.x is available.) To do that the boards will have to be shut down for a while. I've set July 4 as the day that will happen.
4. Before I do that, I'm going to purge members to the top 50 posters. That means if you had under 50 posts in the past 15 years, you will be deleted as a member.
5. Before I update, I'll attempt to purge photos in order to reduce the size of the files to be updated. No idea if I can do that or not.
6. Before I do the update, I will attempt to do a backup of the data base. I'm not sure what tools GoDaddy gives me to do that.
7. I tried to send a mass email saying the boards will be down and it failed. The error log has a message it failed but not what went wrong. Apparently something has been trying to send mass-emails for a while and failing. No idea why but that might be part of our problem. So I will attempt to pull all the emails of those top 35 posters and let them know directly what's happening.
I have no idea what I'm doing so we may lose a lot in this process. So send thoughts and prayers.

LM thanks for starting us out today.
I woke up at 4:15
let the dog out and made coffee.
Then we headed out for our walk while it was still cool out.
I saw a deer got a vid. of it and some sunnies they are up on my channel forgot to put the private setting to schedule later LOL!
Planning & journal done.
Watered the grass too moved patio furniture so I can water where they were.
Washed up the crockpot and put it back in the pantry.
Dug out some herbs by the deck area so I can put in new stuff later yea!
One wheel burrow load done & in the trash for pick up tomorrow.
The crew is off till Wed. so I have some time to regroup the next couple of days here.
Thinking of you all have a great week!

Re: Mastering Monday (and pray for Tuesday)
The apartment is trashed due to grandchildren. But it is house blessing day so I'll attempt to get as much of that done as possible in between time at the keyboard working on the boards.
We are still battling smoke and non-functioning a/c here. The a/c is mostly running (it stops randomly but our super has started to break the rules and restarts it himself instead of waiting for an HVAC crew to come in and reset the breaker, which is literally the fix, the problem is something is triggering the breaker and they seem unable to identify what, so when they finish 'repairing the system' the breaker is turned back on and it works so they leave and within 24 hours the breaker flips again.) I'm keeping the apartment as cold as I can so when the a/c goes off that means the apartment will take longer to get unlivable.
Every forecast of better air quality has failed. Today when dh woke up he couldn't see the parking lot below us. Turns out that was fog but the air quality remains in the unhealthy range. The smoke map showed lots of times when the smoke was no longer over us but the gasses and particulate have settled in the valley we live in and are not clearing out on their own.
To compound matters, dh refuses to run the a/c in the office so the air in there is not being filtered by the radiator fan system. I went in there to talk to him this morning and immediately felt sick so put the air purifier in there. As well, it is warm in there but he doesn't close his doors so that spread to the kitchen and the foyer as well. And because it is so warm in there I am not tempted to use the treadmill to get exercise. So instead, I walk around the apartment over and over. I get a reasonable step count in most days but I'm not actually exercising.
My body is a wreck. I haven't be able to go for a walk for well over a week now, probably 2. It has been so long I no longer remember the last time I walked more than a block. My knees and hips hurt, my mental health is effed. Even leaving the apartment to go elsewhere in the building or onto the balcony is hit or miss. Depression is settling in deeply and once again there's nothing to look forward to.
There is no end in sight to this. The forests have to burn out and that could take months. Just like with Covid where we thought we'd be locked down for x weeks, then x months, then resigning it would be years, the smoke is making it so I can't go anywhere not for days or even a couple of weeks. It looks like this will be the reality for all of the summer as there is no way to change the environment conditions (winds from the north east instead of the traditional winds from the west) that blow the smoke onto us. To change the winds means going back in time 20 years and listening AND ACTING on the science that said we are changing the weather patterns. We didn't so we suffer. I'll be dead soon. The grandkids will continue to live through this for the rest of their lives and that is also depressing.

Re: Monday Motivation PWYC
I'm moving through my day getting things done. I am still not back to my normal but feel like I'm getting better so am trying to have patience.
One of the baby kittens died around 4:30am. DD12 was in tears when she woke me up needing help. It was the older cat of the two tiny kittens. We were told it was about 3 weeks old. I told DD12 again that I would do every 2-hour feeding of the kittens so she can get a good sleep, but she wants to continue doing it herself.
I have walked, watered and gathered a couple dozen red tomatoes this morning. It is beautiful weather and only in the mid 80's in the morning.

Please read topic below this one, from Kathryn. Very important, and wouldn't want anyone to miss it.
Can't seem to merge the topics on my phone while at appt with HRH and maybe that is best if there are two ways to get attention.

Re: Monday Motivation PWYC
I don't like this sleeping so much business, but I do want to be rested. Dh woke me at 8 when he left for work but I slept on until 9:30. This is after sleeping late yesterday and a nap yesterday.
Anyway, I'm up and about. Need to finish second cup of coffee and then I'm off to walk ddog and get groceries. I think dh is only working part of the day today, but is going for a walk with ds this afternoon.
OK ddog is walked and I'll get a quick breakfast and go on to the grocery. Looks like the chance of t-storms here has moved on, at least for today?

Re: Monday Motivation PWYC
Morning....
I've been so busy doing all my mini projects around here I couldn't begin to list them!
My office is finally done. Took a lot of time, but I am very happy with it. Sweet and I spent most of yesterday hanging the rest of the pictures through out the house. I still have a few small ones to go, but most are done. I've been so busy, even my phone is telling me my time on line has dropped a great deal.
I was sick last week with my stomach for several days. Not fun, but it's done. I've kept up with my steps and eating with the exception of those 3 days. Yesterday my watch said I only had 7K steps, but it didn't count all the up and down of the ladder.
Harmony...though of you as I climbed and balanced myself on my high step stool. I have a gorilla one which I love because its extremely sturdy even when I get on the last step. Of course we are having the same heat with humidity as everyone else. Last week I was asked to play on a Bocci Ball league, a first for me. Had a great time and no one could believe I had never played before. Everyone was complaining about the heat, but for some reason I was ok. We do have a covered area to sit under until its our turn to play. Thankfully I didn't make a fool of myself and have been asked to sub again this Thursday.
I've invited my son and family to join us for a swim and hot dogs tomorrow to celebrate the 4th. Told my son even if it rains we can still get together and enjoy a good meal. Not that it will be that fancy.
My next project is my MB closet. I've order some extra hangers and some other things I will need. Want to start on it after I go to the grocery store in a little while. I also ordered two metal sliding shelves to go under my kitchen sink. I ordered a double sliding shelve for the cabinet where I keep my pots and pans and I just love it. I will need Sweetie to help me to install them and can't wait to get it done.
Still have several big projects planned but it will take some time. I have extra pavers and floating floor planks I need to get rid of before I get estimates for cabinets in my laundry room and garage. Also need to contact a junk man after I get rid of the planks and pavers so I can get the garage cleaned out enough to start work. I also want to install carpet in my Master and guest bedrooms. Can you tell I've been busy?
Waving to ya'll.. So sorry about your DD's kitten dying LadyM. Life lessons are sometime hard to learn but good for her for not wanting to give up on the other kitten.

Re: Monday Motivation PWYC
Good morning (for a little while longer, anyway
).
Kathryn, thank you in advance so much for putting in the time & effort to update our boards. I really appreciate it! Have already started praying that it will be a quick & easy process for you. ((Hugs)) for continuing poor air quality & the cascade of problems it is causing in your life.
Have been preparing food for tomorrow. Still have to finish making picnic eggs (aka deviled eggs but I prefer to use the word picnic instead
) but eggs are cooked & sliced. Just need to prepare filling & fill them. Town fireworks may not happen this year as there is a chance of thunderstorms in the forecast. That's not stopping many of my neighbors from testing some of their fireworks stash. Over the years around here fireworks go off at night for several days before & after the 4th.
From cuop last several days:
Happy belated birthday to Mr Harmony !
Cathy, so sorry you are having to deal with plumbing issues & mean remarks from someone at knitting group.
Nice that you are getting a new roof & deck, Nancy. ((Hugs)) for dealing with 50th anniversary day.
Sweet ((dBlessed)) -- oh no! Not a broken ankle again. I'm so, so sorry this has happened to you. Your positive attitude is amazing. Tell your ddogs that we all say not to ever run into you again! ((more hugs))
LadyM, glad your energy is coming back after Covid & that family is appreciative of your home cooked meals. Awww, so sorry to read about the little kitten dying. ((hugs)) for your dd11 as she deals with this. Saying a prayer that the other kitten survives.
Dear Dee is so much on my mind. Hope all procedures have been done, that she is healing & getting stronger every day.
Happy belated birthday to Twins dtwins!
Harriet, our dcat imitates your dTobias in ignoring fireworks sounds. Last night we were watching TV & some really loud ones went off across the street. Dcat was sleeping on a blanket at the end of the couch & lifted her head to look at us. Since we were not concerned, she wasn't either & went back to sleep.
Glad you are feeling better, Rose.
Meatloaf, mashed potatoes & peas for dinner tonight at dh request.
~~~ Waving to everyone -- hope you all have wonderful day.
