YEAH for the day after. We had 2 private fireworks celebrations happening about a block away from us last night and into the early morning hours.

I have been to the garden twice this morning. Walking, watering, and harvesting tomatoes, peppers & strawberries. I need to spend some time in the kitchen today chopping the extra vegetables and putting them into the freezer. I know from experience these Ziploc bags of garden vegetables will be much appreciated treasures during the winter months.

AM personal care cards have been done including washing my hair. I'm enjoying my cup of coffee while taking a break

Yes to the day after. We have a lot of fireworks in the area and I had a fan going for white noise. Still, a neighbor three houses down from us was shooting off something LOUD in his backyard. These lots are not very big. The dog lifted her head to look around but decided she could live with it, considering her drugged up state last night. I'm glad to get back to whatever is normal.

And another social outing, I think dh would would have us out every evening if possible. Today is birthday for dfriend V of river friends so we made a reservation to celebrate with her. I am so tired of being social. ON Saturday, dh has a Rotary event most the day, thankfully.

I talked to dd for awhile this morning. She had a friend from here visiting over the weekend - it was the gal who dog sat for us with her dh. I like to think that maybe paying her for the dog sitting helped make the weekend possible, because I know she's on a budget.

I've walked a mile with the dog - it's only 73 degrees out but the humidity is 94%. We had storms earlier and may have more later.

The crew doing the water tank and boiler replacement got here at 10. Right now they are cutting a hole in the bricks on the west side of the house so that the new water heater can be vented out as it will be gas and not electric. I cleared everything from the laundry area and the shelves in the hall as soon as I got up this morning.

There won't be a quiet time until later, so I just have to deal with the noise and the dust. They only had to remove 1 wall. A new door will go up in a slightly different spot when this is done. All the pipes are getting replaced, as there were minor leaks everywhere, but never enough to damage anything.

I am back in the recliner with an ice pack on my knee. Yesterday when DH and I were on our little adventure we were walking across some rough ground. I must have done something to my knee because I felt something was different. It is the same knee that was hurt/swollen after the fall down the cellar, so I suspect it is unstable and not totally recovered. ANYway, the ice pack feels good, and I will try to be patient and give my knee more time to heal.

Some small things accomplished -
** Yearly septic maintains bill paid
** opened boxes arriving in the mail. Replacement phone chargers for the kids. A new bottle of liquid stevia used in DH daily lemon drink. Noting this is year #3 since DH has been drinking lemon drink resulting in having no kidney stones. I am still astonished this one change has had such a big result. DH used to suffer with kidney stones several times a year.
** Kitchen counters cleared and cleaned. Then I gathered the items used in mass vegetable chopping set up and ready to be used. However, before I start that process I need to ice my knee.

All the deconstruction and noise was over in just over an hour! Now they are replacing pipes and connecting the 2 new things. The only problem is that dh just keeps talking and talking and talking to both these guys.

All the cats have hidden. I don't know if any of them are outside or not as the back door has been wide open since 10. Dh needs to get some stuff to keep the flies out and get rid of them all ASAP. They are everywhere. UGH!

We are going out for supper tonight.

Our internet has been down a couple hours for the ISP to replace some equipment at the main service building. It was damaged when the electrical outage happened. They have been running on generator power for the past couple of days while waiting for the new equipment to arrive. Ahhhh...life is good. We have electricity, internet and a/c. Hopefully Cathy & DH will soon have hot water too!

DH and I went to get more kitten milk replacer. While we were out, we went through fast food line and got some food for the kids. 3 chicken dinners and 4 cheeseburgers should keep them fed today. I plan on making spaghetti but icing my knee is messing with the timing of getting it cooked.

I'm trying to do some planning and looking forward. I want to get to the TN state library and archives next week. I need to organize what I want to work on and when I can get there.

Also have a very big OMM list that I'm not getting done.

(((Kathryn))) thinking of you with the smoke and the uncertainty about the boards. I'm hoping some resolution is possible, I hate to stress you out more!

Hello to everyone!!!

Kathryn, my response is the same as Twins’ last night — I don’t know enough to have an opinion! Mainly, jus try to keep us together and keep old PWYC and J&C posts as far back as possible. I definitely think it would be fine to delete threads that haven’t been used in years.

Y’all, I’m on my second day of doing nothing.
I did take dgs to Wonderful Wednesday, and took both kids home when it was over — dgd arrived later bc she had an eye doctor appointment early this morning.

I cannot stay awake to post this! I think it’s my blood sugar. Starting the day with a regular cola instead of diet is not a good choice.
Tomorrow is another day.
