Harriet, I am glad when people do NOT give us okra! I can eat just about any vegetable but that one.
I don't know what we were talking about, but I said to DH something about us coming out and at least cleaning out around the front, the motor box where he puts things constantly and he was agreeable. So we tried this chore again. Today we made great progress. I'm not strong enough or limber enough to go up and down into and out of the truck a lot so I stayed up there and he told me what to do with things. We laughed about things that I talked him into throwing away... well that was .25 we won't get from anybody.... tell them if anybody can say what this item was used for we'll give them 10% discount... and that way we managed to fill up half the garbage bin. Each little pile of screws or nails, maybe 4 or 6 I'd have to go back and find the box and put them in there...as if this would make a difference.
Then I dragged everything out from under a shelf, all the trowels, floats, every cement or masonry tool known to man...and doubles and triples of them all...and I had them all around me on the floor. At that point I went into the shop and found 3 more milk crates to organize it all. I had to come in and put on a dry set of clothes because I'd sweated through everything... and then I started organizing it all and putting it back under that shelf. DH stood at the steps and told me how to do that and before I did that I swept it all out. He says it's never been done since he put it there 20 years ago.
Across from that was another shelf and space underneath which I pulled everything out from and swept and reorganized. Our collection of Jacks, for big truck and a 2-story house which we actually did one time. Oh my goodness is there anything we haven't done at one time or the other? I actually doubt it.
So DH was set to continue and I told him I was tired and needed to stop for the day. He had no idea we'd worked 4 hours out there. He was drenched by that time and we were both so exhausted all I could manage for dinner was a frozen pizza. But I feel better we got some things done.
I feel better some progress was made even though I'd have tossed a LOT more than he was willing to do, but it's a start. I need to figure out how to put an ad somewhere for the truck.
Lady friend from church called and wants picked up in the morning. Sigh...I might have stayed home after all this work, but I guess I'm off in the morning. I hope I don't sleep through the alarm.
Hope you didn't mind reading my progress report. It felt good to type it.
