Re: Third Sunday of July 2023
There is a large bike race near us. One road is closed, but not close enough to our house to affect us.
Dishwasher is going. Large bowls and platters from last night have been hand washed. Dryer just buzzed that it's done for now.
All 3 cats are outside. I need to wash all the floors now that I have swept them. I didn't really do much other than make supper yesterday.
No idea what is for supper today.

Re: Third Sunday of July 2023
I don't want to see anyone today!
I slept in until nearly 10 and dh kept the dog from waking me up. He walked her and fed her. He's cleaned up the kitchen as much as he knows how, and he's folded a load of laundry. And now he's gone to pick up a bowling ball. (Dfriends asked last night how many bowling balls he has, and he wouldn't answer. His big bag holds four, I think, and I know there's more in the garage.)
Anyway, I have nothing planned today except walking the dog and staying home.

Re: Third Sunday of July 2023
Here, all that is going on is fog and very humid weather (not hot, just very humid.) Dh has tired out and isn't in the mood to do anything but work on his computer. I sit here listening to the surf between passing cars on the road and for the fog horn and sea birds.
At home, the highway is shut for a rapid bridge replacement and as a result, there are traffic jams all over the city and in our neighbourhood. It took one resident an hour to drive just over a mile. She would have parked and walked home but she had taken the car out to get kitty litter that was needed and so couldn't. Another resident called from the grocery store asking me how I thought they should get home (I, of course, had no idea, I'm over 1000 miles away!)
We had a nice day yesterday with the foster-grands and will again today, tomorrow and Tuesday. Then we head home.

Re: Third Sunday of July 2023
I feel sad today that time seems to be passing so quickly, and I end up every weekend exhausted. I tried to talk to dh about the weekend on Friday night and he had nothing, then managed to overschedule yesterday by talking to me before I was awake. He did finally, I think, understand that I was away 2.5 days last week and had missed doing laundry and needed tasks here at home. He had folded the load of laundry that was in the dryer by the time I got up. I had white kitchen towels and things to be bleached in the washer to get them out of sight yesterday - some were damp and I didn't want to pile them in a basket - and he tried to move them over to the dryer but realized they weren't washed.
We're away the next weekend, then I have a genealogy institute online that will take all my daytime beginning the 24th. I'll probably miss my workouts that week too. This week, has five out of the house appointments, but two of those are workouts, and one at home phone call from doctor to discuss labs, and two Zoom meetings that I may or may not attend. My introvert soul misses the COVID days.
Dfriend V was talking last night about how most couples she knows have different interests at this stage of marriage and it's true. I'm thinking of Kathryn and Ken, too, and a lot of us here. I have to establish boundaries with him for weekends and for my time, especially before he retires in two or so years.
I'm just feeling low and needing to decompress. I need to figure out goals for this week - my research from this week needs to be moved into Evernote and tagged and analyzed. And I need to set my next project to focus on instead of being all over the place with my research. That will give me a sense of purpose again.
Thanks for letting me think out loud here!

Re: Third Sunday of July 2023
I woke up at four ish today did some things... that usually happen here in the morings.
Planted another rock by the new step and picked out a couple more to go in that will not work for rock painting b/c I could not get them
to scrub up as smooth as I like so they are great candidates for this and I only need a couple more so perfect! Got those in yea!
Then decided I"d better rest and went back to bed and my 8:00 Rx alarm went off.
101* today's hi temp. so this is me not going to church at the park outside.
Dd said she will be coming over this morning.
I have meat in the crockpot now with seasonings.
I made my lunch / brunch.
Dd has not come but dgd sleeps late so who knows.
I watered the beds in the back yard & rinsed & put freshwater in the bird bath.
Had some mediation / down time for reflection. See J&C if you want my thoughts further.
I grated up a zucchini from the veg. stand and see I have one I grew to pick again.
So dd never did come I finally called her around two nope she forgot to let me know sigh oh well.
Now I have left overs.

I’m still feeling inter the weather, but I watched Wimbledon and foaled laundry.
Now I’m watching a special with Sweetie so it will be quiet for the rest of the day

I took another big container of tomatoes and peppers to church with me this morning to give away. I am starting to feel like I'm drowning in fresh garden produce. I can't seem to give it away and/or process it fast enough to keep up with how much the garden is producing each day. I do recognize this is a good "problem" to have. I can always put the fresh produce by the road for give-away and/or enrich the compost pile with it.

99% of the time I enjoy my time with the babies and toddlers. Today was that other 1% of the time that isn't enjoyable. I had 5 toddlers (2 years old and under) plus one 6 month old baby in the nursery today. DH helped me by holding the baby most of the time which freed me up to handle what happened with the toddlers. FOUR out of the 5 toddlers had blowouts! It was beyond bad. All of them were wearing pull-ups or training pants which means it was not contained. This is highly unusual to have even one toddler have bowel movement during the church service hour. Today was the first time four of the toddlers made such a mess all at the same time. This memory cannot go away fast enough!

I was going to post that dh and I are going out for supper. Instead, I'm just going to wake him up to get ready.

Re: Third Sunday of July 2023
We had a lifelong friend stop by this afternoon to show his new-to-him vehicle (1980 Ford dually). The visit resulted in him buying our welder/generator & trailer. We have made remarkable progress this week in getting things on wheels out of our driveway and the various parking slots. These various transactions have been in the works for weeks and they all finished about the same time. Three vehicles and the welding trailer have moved on to their new homes. WhoooHOOO!! We still have many vehicles and trailers, but I like seeing the things on wheels reduced, especially those that are not being used.
I haven't cooked today because we have an abundance of leftovers.
I am enjoying being outside today. Even during the hottest time of the day, it is only 92F. I pushed the mower without getting overheated.
