the good - I may not need surgery on my broken bone - im still rolling along in a wheelchair - you should see me on the wet grass in the garden

I woke up feeling grateful for having working body parts and no pain. I still marvel at surviving that fall with minimum damage. Like most experiences I expect it will fade away to become a faint memory but for now it is still on my mind multiple times a day.

(((Blessed))) - The bones will heal on their own? Will you need physical therapy to regain use? I am intrigued by what you are going through and how you manage to do day-to-day things in a wheelchair.

(((lucyLee))) So glad your fall wasn't worse. Care to share what you will do differently in the future to prevent it from happening again?

Selling things chat ...We did not advertise the items we sold. It was just by word of mouth. Harmony, you mentioned your husband wants to have people he knows in the industry come to look at the things. That sounds perfect to me. It puts their eyes on the equipment for sale and will result in being discussed with other professionals in that trade. I have noticed once DH finally got into the "let's get rid of this unused stuff" mode he is eager to make it happen. We have a LOT of stuff, so I hope he continues.

We probably could have advertised and got more money....maybe. But that means we would need to have strangers coming into our home/shop as well as answering countless calls, text and emails. That sounds stressful and the opposite of fun. It has actually been fun to see friends excited about taking ownership of things we no longer use.

I have the first 2 of 14 hourly movements accomplished. I don't remember establishing this habit being so difficult the first time I did it, but this hourly movement habit certainly is challenging me now.

The guy with a truck went to work at 4:45 woke me so I was up at five no prob. I had stuff to do.
Like undecorating the deck, and clearing my work space on the patio all the rocks I got washed to paint that were still there.
102* too hot to do outside crafting.
I have watered this morning as well.
Walked ddog it helped with the following for me I am working on my attitude.

I was discouraged that dd & dgd did not come.
I actually rarely see them not unusual for this age bracket they are in.

I am going to be sorting out things I will or will not put on the deck next.
Now I know some things that work and some that do not.
I have too many options! LOL!

I have a bit of hand wash to do up.
planning is done.
It is good to read of your day waving.

I opened up the shed to air it out and was encouraged to see all the open space in there yea!
Several items left dgdson could use happy to have those items gone now!
My new plants are okay a blessing in the summer and fun to see them!

Good morning! Thanks for opening up shop, Twins!

So sad to hear about Dee — thank you for bringing it to my notice, Harriet. Their poor kids, having to cope with it all.

After a week at home, DH is off to Scout camp. And then we will pick him up from there on Thursday and head to Cape Cod for his family’s annual ball game. Looking forward to seeing his cousins and his one remaining uncle. DH’s father and his brothers have passed away in reverse order, leaving only the eldest, who is 102, I believe. (Maybe “only” 101, but the next eldest passed away a few weeks ago at 99.) Though it will be odd to be there, as we are likely to be the only ones of DH’s branch of the family. We know none of his brothers will be there. His eldest and youngest brothers both have jobs where summers are busy, so they only show up if DH’s middle brother comes over from the UK. His sister would usually go, but she has dropped off the face of the planet. I have her best friend as a FB friend, and she posts pics of the two of them occasionally, so I know she’s still alive.

So this week will be occupied with getting ready for the trip. The fact that it is a short week (since we are leaving before lunch on Thursday) has me worried. My intention is to pop in here frequently to keep myself accountable, but my intentions and my reality have not really been keeping up with each other lately. But perhaps I will “manage” to get here.

Quiet morning here. The dog and I walked four laps - I have almost as many steps now as I had all day yesterday. I've cooled down and had breakfast and need to finish up a.m. routine now.

Just occurred to me that we'll need a dog sitter for the weekend. I hope the teen next door can do it.

And this has been sitting here, and I'm ADD.

Yes the workers are back today to finish up.
Some touch up paint, etc. so I cleared stuff I knew they would be back.
I should have waited but could not then dd came to see it so I did it then undid it!
I asked for extra stabilization on the lattice so they have to do that and the others they did not do Fri.

We are hot here again. 97° according to our thermometer. I don't know the humidity. My phone ap only gives a graph with a range of colors, not actual numbers, but it has been consistently in some high range. We have a lot of clouds overhead but not dark ones so I don't know if that means rain or not. The TV is predicting rain for tomorrow. I am becoming very annoyed at the lack of rain around here. It makes for so much more work for me and I'm struggling with the amount of stuff I need to do anyway. If it does not rain sometime today I will begin using the hoses. DH has one big hose, old stuff coupled together at one side of the front and when I try to use it it just leaks too badly around the faucet... and yesterday I carried cans of water to the planters. He is annoyed that the vegetable garden has dried up and I have not been watering there. I think I'm just done trying to have that garden. I do not get enough produce from it to make the effort worthwhile.

LadyM, DH wants to put out signs to get people to come look. We have a disagreement about the truck...he does not want to take the sign lettering stuff off and repaint over it. I don't want somebody strange driving it around with our information on it. All the people we used to work with, building people in trades etc. are now all our age and so many of them are just done, moved away, not working any more... so I don't know if we will be successful doing any of this. I am very discouraged about it all. It is so hard. He is not yet at the point of wanting to get rid of stuff. He is still grieving the loss of his ability to work.

He wants me to schedule with the dr. about his knee but those people who were supposed to do the work at that job have not done it yet...and he says he will be able to go down there and meet the inspector... and I have no confidence he will be able to do that after his surgery. I am feeling just stuck in place and making no progress. The work we did the other day really did me in. I'm too old for all this.

But I guess I will go out with the rags and bucket and the shop vac and see what I can do. I am out of work clothes and must do laundry also.

Nancy, my thought about your deck is to not put so much stuff on it that it is hard to keep clean and tidy it up. A few things so it is comfortable to use, a chair and little table, perhaps, but our porches have too much stuff on them and I am struggling to keep them clean. JMO

Mystery - Glad to see your CI. You have a busy week ahead.

I've successfully accomplished the first 4 hourly movements. I spent some time in the kitchen which always causes me to be concerned that I will get focused on cooking and forget to walk.

I have started texting the family group about what is cooked and ready to to eat. Ideally, we would all sit down and eat our meals together, but that rarely happens. After I finished cooking, I took photos and sent the pictures along with the following text message - Ready to eat = mac & cheese, Manwich, potato salad, catfish that tommy h caught, and chicken

I managed to sleep in until 6:45. We were expecting the fence guys to get here at 7. No big deal. They got here are 6 and used a sawzall (?spelling?) to take down the old posts so they wouldn't wake us up. Dh went and got some groceries and got back just before I went to knitting. I came home and we had lunch. Now I am off to a new craft group. I will take my knitting/cross stitch bag. One woman was doing macrame last week. They other was going through fabric to make something.

BBQ chicken leg quarters for supper. I don't know what you call them south of the border. Chicken drumstick with thigh still attached.

It's a nice day here. A bit of wind and not too hot out.
