How can you get time to relax and have down time this day?
I am listening to the water of my sprinkler in back and birds.
I stayed in bed till six!
Brought my pc out with me I do not usually have it outside.
It is nice and cool today.
I woke up with the thought of lots of tall sunflowers by my deck next year.

~~~waving Hello to all~~~~
Nancy - I'm also having thoughts of where to plant sunflowers next year. I am considering along the fence outlining the garden area. I want a place where I can see them but not be so close that it interferes with the bees flying around.
I have finished personal daily care cards and have been to the garden twice to get my hourly steps accomplished. Both kids are taking showers and washing their hair. They will go to church with wet hair, but it is what it is.
Re: Relax It's Sunday!
I have a busy day, but it's all inside stuff. Washing pots and pans and large utensils and sharp knives. Emptying dishwasher and reloading and then turning it on. Bed sheets. They are currently in the dryer. Another load is waiting in the washer because it isn't full yet. Sweeping and mopping floors.
In the middle of doing all of this, dh decides to start a huge fire in the back yard. I know he won't pay attention to it, so I'm sort of watching it. He parked the trailer full of wood near by, so I went and moved it so the tires wouldn't melt. Now he is doing some weed whacking.
I need to keep going with the kitchen.
Thinking of Dee's children, grands. Not sure of the time of the casual service at the camp for the DeeClutters, but this afternoon when their local pastor can finish with her morning service and get there.
Bed is remade.
Dishwasher is almost finished.
Fire is very smoky and blowing right towards our closest neighbour who happens to have had overnight company. (I think it's her parents.)
Dh brought in a bunch of rhubarb, so I chopped it up and "stewed" it. Now that it's cooling, I should check to see if it's sweet enough. I put a bit of sugar in when I boiled it.
Beef ribs for supper along with Ontario corn on the cob, beets and dh has a bean salad.
Re: Relax It's Sunday!
High noon…
Yesterday I channeled Harmony’s energy. After doing a large grocery run, Sweetie and I started trimming our oak tree. It’s branches were hanging over the driveway and that’s were I park my car.
We worked for several hours later in the afternoon’s heat and humidity. I finally had to make Sweetie stop as I was beginning to get sick to my stomach… my body warning me it was time to quit.
We both jumped into our pool. Me with my tank top and undies and Sweetie in his swim suit. I needed to get in fast so didn’t want to take the time to change. Then after cooling down I got up and made Sweetie dinner and then I headed out to an evening of Karaoke.
Had a great time till two of my good friends who hate each other got into a loud tiff. I had to literally step in between the two to calm things down. Thankfully my experiences with this kind of thing when I was teaching kicked in and a truce was called.
There were tears from both and I had my fingers intertwined with one of my friends trying to keep them calm. I was able to get both of them to let me mediate this situation and spent 45 minutes talking with one of my friends while my other friend agreed to talk with me in a day or two
Each was accusing the other of talking trash and I felt like I was back in high school. As we all know there are two side to every story with the truth some where in the middle.
Did I tell you I hate drama!!!!
Anyway this morning Sweetie and I went to HD to buy 5 bags of mulch. Came home and spread it around my tree. We still have some more trimming to do, but decided to do it later when it cools down a bit. In the meantime I have pictures in my office to hang and I need to get my steps in n my gazelle.
Waving to y’all. Hope y’all are having a great day
Re: Relax It's Sunday!
We have red flag warnings up till Mon. here.
I did not walk this morning and still have half of my activity done by ten.
Made coffee for the neighbor.
Had my bfast.
Did my journaling / no bujo as today is a rest day so I will do that one tomorrow and just put rest for today.
It is 82* F. at nearly ten a/m.
I agree I like to have a down day after a trip or vacation to regroup catch up on laundry and get readjusted to the time zone changes.
A big lesson learned for me when we had been camping so much to unload clean up and repack away after the camper truck or car was cleaned out.
I got the plums I could reach thinned.
Picked up a few things on the patio and put them in different spots most.
Boiling eggs to have later.
Stay safe Cathy!
Re: Relax It's Sunday!
We are having a massive thunderstorm here right now.
I've got most of the dirty utensils and stuff washed. Just have 3 pairs of tongs to do. All the sharp knives and large strainers are done. I have to try harder to get them done on the same night. Instead I soak them, drain them, soak them and drain them and then do them.
Lights just flickered. See you later.
Re: Relax It's Sunday!
Small groups was so good today. We are doing a quick study of 1,2,3 John. It is resulting in much discussion of some challenging subjects and stretching my knowledge.
DS14 and DD12 helped me in the nursery today. We had 2 crawling babies (6 months and 8 months old) along with 2 toddlers. There isn't a moment to pause with so much happening at the same time. This is giving some valuable hands-on experience for my kids to learn how to care for babies and toddlers.
This is my last full week of not having school. Next week is enrollment and school starts the following week. My future self would be most pleased if my current self would use this week to research curriculum and get lessons planned for all subjects.
I am not sure. Shingles was the first thing I thought of when the rash started. I had shingles many years ago and then I took both kinds of the shingles vaccines. If this rash is shingles it appears to be a mild case and is responding well to steroids and Benadryl. I check my temperature several times a day to make sure it stays normal. If I start running a fever with the rash, then I will seek medical treatment.are you sure your rash isn't shingles?
Re: Relax It's Sunday!
We are home! Got in about an hour ago. The dog has welcomed us enthusiastically. I might nap - I took the "less drowsy" dramamine to come home, and let dh drive.
We had a good time but these dfriends do get on my last nerve sometimes. Maybe I'm just not good around other people for very long anymore. They were with us a week at the beach once and I don't remember being frustrated tho. There I can pick up a book and go read or get away for awhile.
I have an online genealogy institute all this week. Orientation tonight at seven p.m., at desk and in class at 10:30 tomorrow.
