What projects do you have going on?
I painted the Out Door Kitchen [ODK] except for the doors last night. So I will be doing that.
I am so excited to paint I slept in my paint shirt it was clean so I just need to put on my painting pants and I'll be ready soon
as I have my coffee.

I saw a thing on twc about corn making it humid somewhere. So odd. LOL!
It is 47% humidity today here we had not rain it is from the dew.
65* Sunny 96*F today's temp range.

CI a bit later walked the ddog a little further than both of the past few days we are working back in to our walks.
I got a small side table up on the painting area work space to do the top of later.
Put painting supplies in the wagon use& then put away in the front of the house and this clears off the patio at least some what.
Had some bfast.

Gee, projects Nancy? I'm in recovery mode!

I did set my alarm to get up early this a.m. - was 7:30 in contrast to my usual sleeping in Saturday morning - so I could walk the dog early. We've walked three laps - a mile - and I got in some socialization too. One lap was with an older neighbor and her little terrier Sam. Millie gets along with Sam but she walks much more slowly than I - but we got to catch up some. I stopped on a later lap to talk to the neighbor who did a fabulous landscape project all the way down their hill. Part of it is on the circle - she didn't realize she didn't own all of that when she put it in - but it's lovely and she maintains it and she was out working on it. The HOA has an easement for a common area there; she made a stink in the beginning about dogs using the potty, and yelled at us one time from their deck way up there, but I've gotten past it. There was some mediation and she understands, I think, that we let dogs go in the grassy area but not the mulched beds. Anyway, that should take care of socializing for today, lol.

Dh has gone to Torah study and then he'll go to Costco. We had dinner out with river dfriends last night - they were leaving this a.m. for a family vacation at the beach with children and grand children so we won't see them this weekend again.

All in all, a quiet day, I hope.

Nancy - You are doing so well on creating a beautiful space on your new deck.

I woke the kids up at 7am for them to get their daily personal am things done. I later realized it was Saturday and I probably should let them sleep in.
Oops. Neither kid complains but I prefer to have one day a week doing things a little differently.

I mentored DD12 making biscuits (Red Lobster style) this morning. She loves to cook, and I want to encourage that interest.

It's raining here. YAY!!

Dh's bf (best friend) showed up. We had planned on going out, so it's a good thing we didn't. I've had a very sore foot all day. I honestly think dh kicked it while we were both sleeping. I don't know how else I could have hurt that part of my foot in my sleep.

Because it is raining, the swimming pool is closed. I wasn't really planning on going swimming today anyway.

No idea what we will have for supper.

I'll be taking care of ds' children in the after-dark portion of the evening for their parent's Date Night. Ddil is okay with them being alone for a short while in daylight, but when darkness falls, she says she can't relax unless an adult is there, which is probably wise.

The Barbie movie is their destination. They had gone out for a family pizza meal one night during the week, not even thinking about the movie theater that wasn't far away, and saw lots of couples and groups, some wearing pink, all walking toward the theater.

Ds and I had a chat about grandparents and projects, so it's interesting that that is our topic.

He says he loved being involved in his grandfather's projects.

I've temporarily lost my love of cooking family meals because I don't want to heat up the house. I decided to do something different. Both of the kids are now big enough to be in the kitchen with minimum supervision. They have their own preferences regarding when and what they eat. Soooo.... I decided instead of making meals I would cook some ingredients. They can use these ready-to-eat ingredients to encourage their fledging creative meals skills. Today I cooked these individual ingredients for their use - ground hamburger, sliced smoked sausage, rice, and refried beans. They have several different options and sauces available to add to their meal creations. I'm looking forward to seeing what they create.

DH and I have been enjoying bean burritos/wraps the last couple of days. They are so easy to create and filled with all the basic food ingredients we like.

Kathryn - Your video of the hail was intriguing to me. I watched it several times before I realized why. The hail appeared to be small (dime size?) but it was so noisy! I finally realized the noise was different because it was only hitting hard surfaces (window/wall). I have never experienced hail from your perspective in high rise. Thanks for sharing it!

My project for the day appears to be getting dressed. And I'm not doing well with it!

Dh needs a new phone. The latest thing to stop working for him is weather radar. His phone is very, very, old (Note 8 I think, maybe a 5) and one by one his apps are stopping working. Plus, we now need 5g on our phones for our US minutes and data to work and neither or our phones have 5g capability.

He decided he wanted the Samsung Z Fold because it is cool. So while on our trip I would do some research while driving along and since the new version was being announced this week, I waited for that to happen. In the meantime, I also learned the closest replacement to what he has now the Samsung S22 or 23 Ultra.

So last night we watched a summary of the new Samsung and he decided he wanted the Z fold. Then I learned the stylus only works when the phone is opened wide, not on the outside screen. He makes at least 5 notes on his phone a week so that would be a real pain.

Today, he told me he has resigned himself to getting the S23Ultra because he uses the note taking feature many times a week and I was right, it was too inconvenient to use it on the Z fold. So he's sad he can't have the cool phone.

It seems crazy that with hundreds of different phones out there, when we enter the feature we want the most, we are limited to only one or two phones. For me, there are now zero phones that have the features I want as the FM radio is now almost completely eliminated (the website I use to find phones says Samsung has the radio still on a few phones from 2020 and 2021 but forums show that the chip is no longer able to be activated to use the radio.)

It also seems crazy that dh will be spending $2000 on a phone but that's another matter entirely.

All the research I did last night made me think about getting me a phone but I've now concluded my task in life is to keep the phone I have now going for as long as possible because it appears to be the latest phone with what I want in features. It just won't work in the US with my SIM because the US has shut down the 3G system in most areas. If I go back to traveling in the US (unlikely) I'll buy a cheap 5G phone to take instead.

In other news, I worked a bit on updating my passwords and deleting ones that are for accounts that aren't needed any more. And I noted that my Quicken renewal didn't happen on Tuesday as planned despite me updating the credit card on file. So I responded to the request again today and it seems to just take the info and then request the info over and over again. So I can't renew. And the phone number in the email they sent to say my account had expired is only good M-F during business hours. I can't express how much I hate Quicken and I've spend at least 20 hours trying to find an alternative and can't. I feel like I'm being held hostage.

Dh is off having lunch with a friend. So I should shower now. And then maybe wash the new sheets I bought earlier this week.

Dgs2 comes for 4 days on Monday so I have to get everything else I need done by Monday morning. That includes mopping the kitchen floor.

The day is cool and windy so the apartment is full of fresh air for the first time this month. Between the fire smoke and heat and humidity, then the a/c not working in all rooms so I didn't dare open the windows, it has been at least a month since the windows could be opened without worry.

I am back from JoAnn's got a crate for less than the other place yea for sales!
Got fabric for coverings one piece not sure yet but yellow with white flower out lines can be for summer or fall I am thinking decor or who knows what.
They did not have the ready made table cloth I was hoping to find.
Got some paint for the next crate painting projects.
My back is going back in place yea for that as well.

LM that is what I do for me get meat cooked and ready so I can use it in several ways.
I had a veg. omlete for my bfast & cheese.
Lunch is a bit away yet but I have wraps and chicken & some toms.
Or a tom sand w/ cheese.
I dis-like cooking in the heat too it is good to have kids learn those skills now WTG on that.
Dgson survived on bbj in collage I think. LOL Then he got and air fryer.

I went on to the grocery and loaded up on fruits and veggies and other things. Tonight I think we'll just have a charcuterie board with salami, cheese, fruit and veggies. I didn't think of it during this week but OTOH I didn't know if dh would be home either.

Dh is home from Torah study and costco and watching TV. He's asked about the Oppenheimer movie and I've suggested we go tomorrow afternoon. I think I am going to veg out today!

Moving to H & F with thoughts.
