Because I had a "vacation" day yesterday, today I will be labouring. I will be out shopping for books tomorrow. Numerous authors have books hitting the shelves tomorrow, including two massive favourites in this house. Stephen King and J. D. Robb. I have a list of all the authors I like that have books coming out this year on my fridge.

I've started closing up the house as there is a heat warning here. We don't get temperatures anywhere close to LadyM, but for us, the temperatures will be high.

No idea what supper will be tonight.

which browser do you use now?

I'm using the default recommended Microsoft browser ...aka edge. I didn't expect this browser switch to fix my laptop problems. Everything I had researched pointed to hardware failure.

I chose not to pay for the warranty. I have the expectation of a daily hard use laptop lasting 3 years and anything past that is gravy. I will purchase a replacement and get on with life. Is this financially the best choice? Probably not.

I took the bandage off DS15 hand before bed last night. I am not convinced the gash doesn't need stitches to enable it to heal quicker. He uses his hands in dirty situations (construction, lawn care, etc) and keeping it clean is going to be a challenge. Also I searched for his last tetanus shot and only found 2015. I am leaning toward taking him to walkin clinic today.

I have cancelled DS15 guitar lesson for today because of his hand owie.

I texted with DS15 personal trainer whether we should postpone today's session and she thought it could be done. She will have DS15 focus on cardio and legs. We will meet with her at 9am.

Clean laundry and clean dishes from dishwasher have been put away. I refilled the dishwasher and now it's going.

I need to sweep the floors. I've been walking around in my bare feet and it feels a bit gritty. I also have to wash them, but it is too humid in the house right now. I need to turn on all the fans and cool it down some more.

I'm hoping the public swimming pool is open today so we can go for a swim. Dh is cutting the grass right now, so I know he will appreciate a swim.

I am slowly getting better, but still don’t have much of a voice. Went to my class this morning and did just find.

I still have my lanai to finish as I ran out of energy the other day, plus I haven’t made my bed yet… Sweetie was still sleeping when I got up… and may just leave it.

I need to do some returns for Amazon later this afternoon … things have been sitting here since I got sick.

LadyM… I keep forgetting to tell you about blood draws. Remember Dee and I both have a difficult time with those. At labs the rule is a tech can only stick you twice and if they can’t get a draw a different tech has to try. If that person fails then the draw can’t be done. I’ve been told this procedure is suppose to be the same in a drs office. Don’t know what size needle they tried to use on you, but usually if they are having a difficult time with a draw, the needle is too big for your vein. Dee and I always request a butterfly needle for that reason.

My MRI the other day included using contrast dye. That meant I had to have a port inserted in my vein. I requested a butterfly needle, but the tech said they didn’t have one… did the time I had the MRI done in May. Anyway my MRI was scheduled for 11:00am so I started drinking water as soon as I got up.

The tech told me she would use the smallest needle available and I asked about the two time stab. She told me that was standard procedure there. Anyway because I had had so much water before I went, my veins were pretty good and so was the tech. She was able to insert the port without any problems and later when I took off the bandage I didn’t have a bruise where the port had been. That’s a first for me.

Hope your ds’s hand heals well. My girlfriend was the queen of using superglue on all her kids cuts.That always amazed me.

Twins… glad to know you’re finally over Covid. Topic of conversation at my class this morning was whether any of my friends plan to get a booster this fall. Most said they will not. See no sense with me or Sweetie getting one either

Too much togetherness here for sure this weekend. We're both pretty jumpy at each other.

I've walked dog and dh has walked dog, and he's gone out for another walk.

I'm getting my breakfast and going to try to spend some time upstairs. I need a trip to the grocery - hoping dh will go and will be good for him - and the neighborhood is having a Labor day cookout late this afternoon. I need hummus and a couple of other items to make the Mediterranean dip.

LadyM, I think I'd get ds's cut looked at. I can't remember but once a certain no of hours have elapsed it's too late to do stitches. And the tetanus shot is generally every ten years, but given the context of his cut I suspect a new shot would be a good idea.

Sorry to hear about DS’s “owie,” LadyM.

I got nothing done yesterday. I did not take advantage of having gone to church on Saturday to be efficient. Instead, after the usual Zoom call, we went to get DD a new computer. Then we picked up some prescriptions and some dinner (hamburgers instead of our usual Sunday Chinese), played a game, watched some TV, and that was the day. Lots of stuff done, I suppose, but not terribly useful.

Today may be much the same, but I must get some laundry done, since, with the laundry chute and three hampers full, I don’t have Mt. Washmore to tackle, but the entire Washmore range.

Home from the gym. DH and I did our exercise minutes while the personal trainer worked alongside DS15 giving instructions. I thought signing DS15 up to work with a personal trainer would either be a big success or a complete failure. I am greatly relieved to know it is on the successful side. When we got home DS15 gave me a hug and thanked me for signing him up.

DH asked what else was on our schedule for today and I was happy to say NOTHING.

Looking ahead at the rest of the week -
** DD12 has 4 days of school (3 IRL and one virtual day)
** DS15 has 3 days of homeschool plus two full days of drivers ed classes held on Saturday & Sunday.
** 3 appts. DD12 has one with her counselor and I have two appts. One with family doctor and the other for Prolia semi-annual bone density treatment
** Team up to clean and put away the kiddle car rides at the fairgrounds.
** Meal with church family

Our vet told me that they use super glue on cats when they do surgery.

We went for a swim and it was delightful. Too bad the outdoor pools all close for the season today at 5 p.m. The heatwave isn't finished yet.

Dh would like to go out for burgers for supper.
