Waving hi to all!
I have been out in the garden pruned a bit on the roses above the brick edging I put in this week.
Picked up a few stray branches from the tree I took out.
Pruned a bit on the lilac tree.
Pruned on a volunteer tree that came up.
Worked on an attempt on a walking stick do not think it is sturdy enough however but it was fun!
Great weather here today.

Hi everyone! It has been a while, I don't even know how long. I was feeling sorry for myself and out of sorts and realized there is nothing really wrong. I just needed some friends, so here I am. Here is my 5x5
  1. Assemble night stand - DONE!
  2. LOLs - washed, not put away
  3. Exchange wrong size light bulb - DONE!
  4. Grocery shopping - DONE, mostly put away
  5. Pack some things from the animal org yard sale into my car - not even started!
Exercise is also done. I want to start, but don't expect to finish Bible study. (I have returned to Sunday school). Should do guitar practice. Where did I put the music?

Hello, friend Elizabeth!
What kind of nightstand did you decide on? I'm thinking of building/installing some slide-out cabinet shelving. Not totally sold on it.

Today's errands were fine, but it was so hot out there and the grocery shopping, especially, was such a drag on concrete floors. Back home, got everything that absolutely had to be put away done, and then napped.

Appt had been perfectly good news, nothing unexpected, very laid back.

Napped too long, really, but got up with some ambition and put away all the items.

Cooked a good supper of poblano-pineapple-chipotle skillet, which I honestly love and could eat so much more often than we do. Kitchen is spiffed.

Long phone conversation with HRH's dmother. She learned the new Sept AA RP mag has a really good coupon this time for her macular degeneration supplement, so we will save that for her.

Disappointed because I thought dd25 could spend time with us tomorrow, but she has an all-day seminar thing. Oh, well.

Had dinner at dd's. It went fine, the food was great (we brought what we wanted) and I had some fun with the kids but they were uneven and the volume level and whining in that house is unbelievable.

I took over the CO2 monitor I have out from the library. Their house is in the danger zone. Even look at it, dd didn't want to open the windows, ending up opening them a crack. Finally she opened front and back windows and level dropped to normal. It was 75 degrees in the house (and seemed stuffy) and 68 outside, so I have no idea why she was refusing to open windows.

I came home and bought myself a monitor but got one that measure particulate matter too. I went to look at the furnace to see if it had a heat recovery ventilator (they are now part of the building code but she has a very old house) and told her that the basement smells of mildew.

She argues there's nothing she can do, it isn't a priority and when told to buy a dehumidifier, said she doesn't have the time to do the research and find one she can carry home on the bus. I pointed out that Costco has online shopping and sells them. Sigh....

At least now I know why I so dread going to her house for anything even when it is just one kid and the house is relatively peaceful. Bodies can sense these things before brains can. Oh, and the household members experience all the symptoms of too high CO2, especially dd.

The nightstand in question has a magazine rack and a light. No drawers. https://bigbigmart.com/product/allen-ro ... loor-lamp/.

That can be dangerous, can’t it, Kathryn— the CO2 problem? I mean life-threatening dangerous? I’ve always been scared to death of gas leaks, after reading a horrible story in Readers Digest while we were building our house. We have gas heat through a central unit, but I insisted that the gas lines run outside the foundation of the house and I refused to put in gas water heaters or gas logs in the fireplace. I know — I’m a little over-the-top paranoid. Remember, my excuse is that I was only 24 when we built this house.

HELLO to Elizabeth!!!

Dgd and I cleaned up all the clippings from my pruning job, plus some additional weeding… played UNO, Clue, Headache, and school… went out for ice cream with dh, and read bedtime stories after her bath. I am WORN OUT.
Tomorrow is another day.
