Thank you for the birthday wishes.

It has been a busy day.

Shortly after I posted last night, emails began to ping and text messages too. Our office manager (who was a wonderful help for the residents' group yesterday and dgs2's favourite so he drags me into the office to see her when we walk through the lobby) was biking home and had a bad fall off her bike on the ramp up to the other building. She was biking at speed to make getting up the hill easier and something distracted her and she looked back as she was in the turn and the bike over-balanced and slipped out from under her.

Thankfully there were a lot of people around to provide care while waiting for the ambulance. Including a nurse who was waiting to pick up someone.

The reports last night were bad, shattered elbow, suspected broken hip, back possibly injured and she was waiting for test results and an MRI.

This morning rumours were flying about full body cast and in ICU after an operation last night, and then she had insisted on going home and was released. Since she had told the same person these two things, we were pretty sure drugs were involved and only one of the two stories was true!

Turns out it was the latter, my source for info has now talked with her (last night it was her son who was keeping us up to date). She has a shattered elbow (dominant hand) that need reconstructive surgery but is in a sling for now. Her hip is not broken but she doesn't believe them so will get a second opinion (that could be the drugs talking!). She is at home with help from her son and a retired nurse who lives in my building to handle the personal care.

Everyone loves her so there's a community of 1000 people wanting to help out. We'll see what we can pool together.

My source coming to talk with me in person this morning made me late for church but I prioritized the office administrator's situation.

After church we had a congregational meeting to approve a new minister. He will be a wind of change. I'm very excited. Ours is his first church as an ordained minister but he's been involved with the church for ages. He started out Catholic, then Pentecostal, then something else and now United. He's got multiple degrees including an MBA and a couple of Doctorates.

After that, I had a quick lunch and a residents' association exec meeting.

Then a walk with dh and now it is dinner time.

Hi everyone and Happy Birthday Kathryn! I have done guitar practice, exercise, cat writeup updates, some prep for tomorrow but not all, and decluttered a year's worth of emails (2015). Eventually, I want to have only useful emails saved. Next up more guitar and animal org minutes. I made it to church and Sunday school, then bought a shirt. I am down to only one week of summer shirts. That reminds me, I should run some LOLs! Tonight DD21 will set up a zoom meeting for physics tutoring.

I had to cancel my camping reservation because the vehicle I use for towing still needs repair. It is ok to drive to work, just not towing. Between this and the foot surgery, I have not camped at all in 2023. I should be able to make Oct and Nov trips.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KATHRYN! I appreciate you here.

Church today and I stopped at store on the way home. Going out with my cart, I noticed DH's truck parked an aisle away. He doesn't have his phone right now and I was unable to call him to tell him what I bought. Back home, we laughed about the similar stuff we got. Not all of it is duplicates, just some. Most of that is in the freezer now.

I don't get enough sleep for Sunday mornings and usually nap in the afternoon and so does DH. We're such a lively bunch around here. I did get the garbage all gathered. Asked DH about the torn up garbage cans we'd wanted to send out too and he put 2 of them down into the rolley bin. I don't know how he got them down in there, but he did. Usually people put stuff like that out with a sign on saying take... otherwise they just leave them.

When I went out with the bags of garbage, it was extremely HOT. Still, at 5:00 it was 93°. DH got on the rider and cut the grass in the back and then out front. We have a luncheon date with our former customer. Looks like she is going to keep tabs on us forever.

Ok, that's it. Have a nice sleep everybody.
