Re: Tuesday Ta Da Tally!
Good morning!
I am still a bit challenged this morning with losing track of time. I am going with the thought that it is normal to not be at my best every day. There are ebbs and flows in most things. DD12 is arriving at school on time with a happy chatter so I'm considering my time struggles in making it happen to be a temporary phase of life.
A different phase I'm going through is roasting vegetables. It is almost embarrassing how many trays I roast a day. I'm on my 2nd pan today. The first pan was a mixture of russet & sweet potatoes. The 2nd pan is cherry tomatoes and mixture of peppers. The roasted vegetables are eaten as if they were candy. Too much of anything isn't good so I need to pare back this current trend.
The first thing I did this morning was start cooking the pot of blackeye peas on a slow simmer. They will be served at lunch so there are several hours for them to simmer.
I'm cooking a pot of Spaghetti & meatsauce for the kids.
PODA -
** Public school for DD12
** Homeschool with DS15
** Gym with DH and DS15. He meets again with the personal trainer today.
** Lunch with DFriends in elderberry group.

Re: Tuesday Ta Da Tally!
Hi!
Dh has a doctor's appointment this morning. We are leaving shortly. Wish me luck.
My brother texted saying we had an appointment with my accountant this morning. I texted him back saying accountant is in Europe. I called accountant's office and it was confirmed that he is away for another 2 weeks. Called brother and let him know appointment isn't for at least another 2 weeks.
I've swept and mopped back hall. All I can smell when I walk into the house is cat pee. I did both litter boxes last night. I'll see how it smells when we come back from doctor's appointment. It's a 5 minute drive away. I'm dressed and ready to go.
Supper tonight will be a cottage roll. I plan to start boiling/simmering it at around 3:30ish.

Re: Tuesday Ta Da Tally!
So far:
-out of bed at seven
-walked ddog three laps
-got garbage out to the street early and bin is back by the garage
-and another lap with dfriend M
Of course, I'll probably crash at 3 p.m. after I work out today, too. After my workout I'm going by dfriend V's house to see goats. Their neighbor has brought in a guy with a herd of goats to clear out kudzu behind them. (Kudzu is the bane of the south: invasive and aggressive.) https://www.nature.org/en-us/about-us/w ... e-species/
Today is workout at two. Dh is bowling tonight.
I have several task lists going. I think that once I'm through breakfast I'll figure out my plan.

Re: Tuesday Ta Da Tally!
Almost 10 and I'm not dressed but I had to write a review for my new water bottle (with a photo on it, the photo is tiny and covers 10% of the area of the bottle so the review was scathing) and answer emails and messages.
Now to take my shower.
Dh is off at his stress test now. When he leaves he'll text me, I'll start the oven heating and then put in the croissants for him to enjoy over his breakfast.

Re: Tuesday Ta Da Tally!
The black-eyed peas are not getting soft! I used reverse osmosis water, so I know it isn't caused by hard water. They soaked overnight and have been cooking for several hours. I am running out of time to get them done. I have transferred them from cooking on top of the stove to pressure cooking in the instant pot. Worst case scenario is I will go to the grocery store and purchase canned black-eyed peas and just heat them up at DFriends home where the luncheon is being held. DFriend set the menu for today and black-eyed peas was one thing she requested. Otherwise, I would have never picked this dish to cook for the gathering. Ohs well. It will be okay....and even if the peas aren't okay...it will still be okay.
Homeschool is underway.
I need to jump into the shower because that is one of the personal care things that didn't get accomplished before I left to take DD12 to school.

Re: Tuesday Ta Da Tally!
Doctor says dh's blood sugar is far too high, and it's causing the memory problems. He also gave dh a new med for neuropathy in his hands and feet, but again, says the blood sugar is far too high and needs to come down. Time for me to research into the fruits/veggies he does eat and I would love to throw out the popsicles that are currently in the freezer.
Now that we are home, I'm working in the kitchen getting the clean dishes out of the dishwasher and dirty ones into the dishwasher. There are a couple of pots/pans from last night. I would love to clear and clean the island.
I also need to get to Costco top pick up a refill of a med that is waiting for dh. Plus banking needs to be done. Utilities need to be paid.

Re: Tuesday Ta Da Tally!
I worked on the screened porch for awhile and got some of the worst areas cleaned, working around the outside. One corner is always full of dirt and dog hair. Need to continue in the morning when it's cool again, the sun is already coming around to it. So there's another ta da I'm claiming. Not done, but took a bite out of it.
Resting until quarter til the hour then I'll finish a.m. routine which was delayed by working on the porch.

Cathy - Is your DH interested in changing the way he eats? When DH was diagnosed with diabetics, he was all in on making changes. We went low carb for several months and saw a great improvement in his blood sugar level. It wasn't easy because I had to learn a different way of making meals. Change can be a challenge even if he is completely willing.
