A local radio station just announced that tickets are available for the Trans Siberia Orchestra performance in December at a venue in a city near us.

Sheesh! I know Hallowe'en is coming, but ads for Christmas already... sigh...

As far as dh and his doctor, changes to diet, etc. Dh will agree to changes and say "Yes, I can do that." etc. when we are sitting in the Doctor's office. It's a whole other story at home. When dh got up to go to the bathroom, the Doctor and I had a couple minutes alone to talk about dh's memory and confusion, etc. First of all he wants to see if there is a change if dh can get his sugar down.

(Cathy) so sorry, I know this change is so hard. I wish you success managing it, as you are mostly the one doing the cooking, but without cooperation, you will be rowing upstream.

Gee I read your posts and you guys are way more productive than I am. I have nothing really on my mind to do today. I did my study this morning anyway. I have a lot of things on my mind but they are problems I'm having difficulty solving. All my laundry is caught up and I guess I will be cooking today for dinner.

Black eyed peas. Are they the same as chick peas? Isn't that what they mash up for hummus? Shows how little I know....

Ok, I'll go find something to do.

Checking in…

Had a morning spa day. Did my nails and toes. Then I went to Target. My phone case has broken and thought I could buy one there. Not at their prices! I can get a great one for $9 on Amazon and could probably match that at Walmart, but that’s 10 miles away.

I was able to buy all the little stuff I needed there instead of making a second trip to Walgreens. Came home and just finished my lunch. It’s gonna be a fishy kind of day as I ate tuna for lunch and I have salmon to cook for tonight.

Y’all know I color my hair. My natural hair growing up and into adulthood was medium brown with red highlights. I don’t think I’ve seen my natural hair since I was in my twenty’s. Anyway since my hair started to gray I’ve colored my hair a light brown waiting for more of my hair to turn gray. Right now I’m less than 1/4 gray but my base hair has gotten lighter as well. The hair around my face has turned gray but I don’t have much more mixed in the rest of my hair.

This morning I was looking at my hair as I am getting ready to color it. Imagine my surprise when I discovered a patch of hair along my hair line at the top of my head that is coming in black!!!! I showed it to sweetie and he thought the hairs were dark brown until I pulled one down on my forehead so he could see it better…. Yup he said it’s black!

Just shaking my head … now someone tell me how this has happened. I’m growing a skunk strip in reverse!

RR - That is unusual, isn't it? Did your Mom's hair do the same?
Black eyed peas. Are they the same as chick peas?
I think black-eyed peas and cowpeas are considered to be the same. Chickpeas are a different variety.

Lunch was fun. Lots of sharing & laughter. There was also an abundance of good food.

DS15 finished his homeschool assignments while we were gone. He just left for work.

We didn't make it to the gym this morning because I was fooling around with those peas. Now I'm too full to exercise. Hum.....

Quicken has been installed on my computer. Apparently it is now updating too.

I have tried to archive stuff but that appears to be broken. Thankfully, my google search on how to use the archive led me to multiple people having the same issue I have, I can run through the process but in the end, my file still has all the transactions in it. I was trying to clean out 10 years worth and only keep 3 years worth. No such luck.

So I simply created a new file with the same data but a better name than the old file which was "2022-07-04 transfer data" which confused even me!

I tried on my fancy clothes looking for something to wear to the wedding. I've narrowed down my choices to offer to TG and Ds. My sari's blouse needs to be let out. A sari is one really long piece of material but at one end of is is special material, with braid, to be sewn into the blouse. Dh bought the material in New Delhi and brought it home and then I had to find an Indian seamstress to make the blouse for me. She did but it would have been too big for me and rather than cut off the extra material, she sewed it so I could cut the 1" seam and then resew it with the blouse larger. Now I have to figure out if the original needle marks will show under the pallu (the part that goes over your shoulder) or if they can be pressed out. And I have to find someone to resew it for me.

My fancy Hong Kong blazer looks great as another outfit but the seams are unravelling in the shoulder blades so that should be repaired if I'm wearing it. Not sure if that will make it too tight (did it pull apart there due to poor craftmanship or was it too tight across my shoulder and I strained the fabric?) Again, an seamstress will be needed.

I hate to buy a new outfit since it will only be worn once. And really only visible for the tea, I assume there will be something over me for the outdoor, late October, ceremony.

On the other hand, I'm not sure I can wrangle dgs2 with a sari on.

Kathryn my brother got married outside in October up in "cottage country". My dd and I both wore long black dresses and they really looked good in the pictures with the fall foliage colours in the background. Good luck finding an outfit.

I've gotten all the utilities paid for the month, plus I got some groceries. The cottage roll has come to a boil and now it's simmering.

LadyM….

My mom had light brown hair for most of her life until she was in her mid 80’s and the it turned white. Her mother had very very dark brown until she died at age 94. She did have a bit of gray around the frame of her face and in the back nape of her neck. My mothers father on the other hand hair turned white when he was 19.

My father hair was dark brown and turned very salt and pepper in his mid 70’s and turned silver by 80. I have no idea what color his dad’s hair was because his father died at 43. My fathers mother colored her hair and I always remembered hers being either light brown or later in life one of those purple rinse ladies.

Kathryn … perhaps you can buy a classic styled dress or pant suit that would look great on you and you could still manage your grands, and would later be available to wear at other events.

Fortunately, we don't have any infringing on our yard, but it is everywhere on the roadsides.

Yes, the vine that ate the south. These goats apparently love it, tho, and eat it right down to the ground. They were really cute, lying under a big tree taking a break. We talked to the goat guy and he has a large herd. He brought 40 in a trailer and has an invisible fence for them that he moves around to let them clear an area. They are really cute to look at but none came over to talk to us.

Dh checked in on his way home and stopped at CVS. I was going to do that on my way home but he was earlier. He picked up scripts for both of his, had something to eat and changed clothes, and is on his way to bowling.

I'm going to take the dog on a walk and then regroup. I already have over 10K steps.
