Tuesday Ta Da Tally!

Good evening! My day has not gone according to plan! DD had a sore throat yesterday; this morning she woke up miserable and asked if we still had a Covid test around. Sure enough, she was positive. Meanwhile, I got a text from dfriend asking if we could feed her dogs and let them out while she and her DH were out celebrating their anniversary. So I’ve been busy, but not with anything I planned. And now I’m wondering if I should stay home from this Saturday’s girls’ night whether I’m positive or not. One of our number is undergoing cancer treatments, and I’m worried about germs hitching a ride on me.

Whether I go or not, I should still place a grocery order (one of the things I was hoping to do today); I can always get the ingredients for the planned dish and make it for my family if I don’t go. My other plan for the day was to gather up giveaway bags and get on the thrift store pickup list for tomorrow.

So my ta-das are minor: a trip to the drugstore, a trip to dfriend’s house, and getting a little further up Mt. Washmore.

I feel like a bad mom because I can’t stand DD’s moaning. I wish she’d just go to sleep already! But apparently the sore throat and congestion are keeping her awake. I feel bad for her, but I’m tired of the moaning!

Well, time to have a belated dinner, then see what I can do about the giveaway bags. Have a good night, everyone!

Thanks for the suggestions re: my outfit. My sari is green with red and gold which is why I thought it would look outside. My fancy Hong Kong blazer is deep red (on the burgundy side of reds) with a silver and grey pattern. Ds and dgs2 are wearing grey suits. TC is wearing black. Dh will be in blue or grey. He should try on his suits, they haven't been worn in pretty close to a decade now.

LadyM: I had Hillbilly Kitchen's hamburg casserole tonight. I needed to come up with something fast. It is sitting heavy on my tummy, not sure if it was too much cheese, the potatoes, or the side of garlic bread I suggested dh make up. I had a large salad with it too, but that wouldn't sit heavy like I'm feeling now.

There were 12 emails from the church this afternoon. I'm being cc'd on everything coming from the music director because she feels under attack. I'm adding choir practice to my to-do list for this week. I think they need a referee.

(((Mystery))) IKWYM! My dh is like that — when he’s sick and can’t sleep, it’s just a constant moan and groan and just drives me insane! I want to be patient and understanding, but sometimes I just have to step away, go to another room, and just leave him be.
Hope she feels better soon!

I’m just putting this down so later on, I can see how it all worked out:

— repairs needed at condo, can’t get in touch with repair folks

— guest arrives after we’ve had a late night football weekend and the normal Sunday busy-ness, dgrands with us Fri-Sun
— daunt’s bday party the day houseguest leaves
— dmom with stomach concern
— ddil with mental and physical concerns
— dgs with acid reflux, on new med, missing 2 days of school this week, plus checking out for ballgame Friday
— Dgd having to take meds and use special shampoo for at least another week
— Dh nervous about his own kidney situation
— have to order flowers for dfriend’s funeral
— visitation tomorrow
— funeral Thursday
— will take dgrands to Homecoming parade Thursday night

And right now, dh is having what I hope is just gas pain, but this happens a lot and makes me afraid it might actually be a heart attack at some point.

OTOH, I did accomplish a few things today:
— 3 loads of laundry, need to finish hanging to dry and fold/put away, and wash one more load
— kitchen s/s
— cut up watermelon
— Went to post office, paid bill
— went to bank
— picked up Dgd at school and managed both dgrands while ds went to doctor with ddil
— went to pick up supper AND HAD TO GO BACK BECAUSE THEY LEFT OUT MY PLATE
— played Clue with Dgd
— multiple phone calls re: condo repairs
— sent email for teacher group

Sigh. I really need a vacation, alone, far far away from anyone who knows me.

— s/s guest bath, reminded that toilet seat needs replacing

DH’s attitude re: these things that repairs that I am embarrassed about: “If they don’t like it, they don’t have to come here. They can stay in a hotel.”
Sigh.

Hi everyone. I think I am back in college. Today and tomorrow I am in an 8 hour class at work. Then I came home to help DD21 with freshman physics. Some stuff is embarrassing, but I had the same trouble 40 years ago. All I have done otherwise is get what I need for the RV club meeting tomorrow. I needed cat litter and forgot it.

Three weeks ago, I discovered I had outdoor cats. They never came at the same time. Ramsey came during the Ramsey show and Ruth later. I found Ramsey's body in my front yard today. He (she?) was probably hit by a car and made it to close to my door. He and Ruth were going to be trapped, tamed, and taken into the animal org. I hope he came here because he felt safe. It is possible "he" was pregnant. It is also possible abdomens bloat after death. I didn't look too closely, just enough to make sure he was dead and not in need of an ER run. My cat loving neighbor took his body but did not recognize him.

I just got off the tutoring call and have much to do. Instead of listing it, I am just going to get on it. I'm just so sad.
