"Hump" day Wednesday

Post by Twins' Mom »

Today is Wednesday, the hump day of the week. It's all downhill from here, can't get any worse, we're on a slide down to the weekend! Let's go!

Good morning dear Twins'! Let's go! (Oh, hang on, whoosh on the downhill slide) I am counting on that "can't get any worse", okay? *

((Elizabeth)) my heart aches for you, coming so close to being able to rescue a little pet, yet losing him.

Ramblin', that's interesting about your hair. Seems like a positive to have a reversion TO color rather than away from it - who knows. You're unique. (smile)

Chickpeas are garbanzo beans or chana, ancient nutritious plant. Called "pea" just because of mistaken pronunciation between French and English, I think.

Cowpea is the worldwide umbrella name for many: black-eyes, Crowders (meaning crowded), yellow-eyes, purple hulls (Elizabeth's fav), etc., all called peas but really beans.

Hugs to ((Mystery household)) for Covid difficulties.

Roasted veggie chat - LadyM, I may have said here that once I had a recipe for 1/2 to 3/4-inch roasted cubes of sweet potato dusted with cheese somehow, and served as snack with toothpicks! A child I taught in SS who never talked came over for Halloween and loved those so much that he talked and talked about them. Wish I could find that recipe again - I suppose I could experiment! I think I gave the recipe card to his grandmother thinking I could remember it, lol. Most I find now say larger cubes, more garlic/herbs than I think children would like. Yes, experimenting is the answer, I think!

* Hard day yesterday. My appt was rushed and confusing. Seems I've missed a scan I was supposed to have, because one office didn't understand what the other office meant. Whatevs. I'll get it now, but it's late. (just bone density) Had to correct two kinda important medical items on computerized form and that bothered new doctor, who, it turned out, had typed the form. And I learned I hadn't had good communication about another test which, in a way, has nothing to do with any effort on my part. I just felt uninformed - well, I HAD been uninformed. I'm the one hanging on every word they say, if they will just say it.

Then, because I'd been called back from waiting room immediately, I'd had zero time to complete the check-off form that they SAID they wanted before appt. Everyone just kept putting me off on that and at the end when I was dressed the nurse said she'd leave me now, told me "goodbye", while I finished filling out the form. When I came out of the room alone, though, other nurses were asking me why I was leaving, where was my nurse, etc. One perhaps thought she was clever when she said, "did you think you'd just walk out"? She discovered how amused I was immediately. My nurse swooped in to diffuse, took the clipboard and thanked me. I heard the other say as I walked away, "I was just joking." Walked past HRH in the waiting room and stalked to elevator, with him chasing me.

There's a misunderstanding of true authority in the patient-provider relationship sometimes.

Harriet: sorry your appointment was such a challenge yesterday.

I'm up and at it, responding to emails as they come in, hoping to stem flow and keep on top of stuff. At least now I can see the top 50 in my in-box and if it isn't there and is recent, that means I've given it the attention it deserved and stop wondering if I need to give it more attention (until another email comes in.)

I'm still not dressed.

The plan for today is to work efficiently this morning and then take the afternoon to walk miles and miles and miles. Total would be 7. Not sure it I'll get to the total (I'll walk there and take the bus most of the way back if necessary.)

I walked the ddog three laps with a neighbor. She's younger and I enjoyed catching up with her and having someone to talk to.

DH called in a tizzy as I was making my breakfast (mind you, I'm due at massage therapist in less than an hour) because he tried to pay for our cruise next spring and they don't have all our info yet. Yes, the reason for that is that I received my passport renewal on MONDAY, two days ago. I thought someone had died based on how he sounded; he asked if I saw he had called 20 min ago (no I was walking the dog) and he left a voice mail to call him.

I'm eating my quick breakfast, probably no time to s2s before 10 a.m. when I have much needed body work. I'll go on for groceries after that. I know there's other things we will need.

Dang!

Last night someone emailed Ken because I was away. Obviously, I wasn't. Whatever....

Today I go to sign into my bank account and don't get the 2FA code on my phone. Turns out my mobile phone has been disconnected from the network for I don't know how long. So I haven't received any texts from anyone for at least 2 days, maybe 3.

Now that I've reconnected, my phone is going crazy with texts. I have dozens to respond to.

Just when I thought I was getting on top of things.... turns out that was because I had cut off 2/5 of the ways to contact me: home phone, mobile phone, text, Messenger, email. And email was useless too.

I'm rather upset about this as some of it was important.

Hi!
It's definitely hoodie weather here now. We went to an automotive parts store to pick up 2 cases of brake cleaner. Dh uses it to clean stuff as well as brakes. A case might last a few months. Dh said 2 cases might last until into next year.

I've been trying to wash pots and pans. Dh decided it was a good time to sweep the kitchen floor. At least he is helping, I guess.

Supper requested will be "Shake 'n' bake" chicken drumsticks.
Dishes never stop.
Laundry never stops.
Litter boxes never stop.
Paper never stops.

yesterday I didn't feel great and I am sure it's bc I stuffed myself with my baking items. If I would have had 1 small piece of blueberry coffee cake then it would have been okay - but nooooooo. it make me feel sluggish and yucky. I have always been a binger and every so often it hits me that I am out of control. Not often but it still happens.

I can't seem to keep up but I have to forgive myself and see where I am getting lost during my day. I have to accept that I am slower and work with it instead of fighting it.

It's a new day and a new outlook!!!

today's cards:
zone 2 in garden
work on the long term thing: zone 3 in garden
desk day
dailies
put away in all areas.
give yourself a break.
it is always a joy to be here with you!

Bw2 I feel that way too. Trying to keep up. Even after cutting back to eow on outings. Others do not seem to get it. I feel heard here thanks everyone.
I am hoping to get to some sewing I want to put patch pockets for my phone on 2 night gowns.
Have not done much yet.

Yesterday I had carb cravings moon phase stuff I think.
I had to make myself get up and do stuff with a non food reward afterward that helped.
Today sinus issue so that helped me to understand that was at least part of it too.
I may have just needed to rest after a big chore day on Mon.

I am looking forward to cooler temps. the last part of this week maybe even today.

I am back home after several trips out to take DD12 to school, gym to exercise with DH and DS15 and grocery store to purchase potatoes and a few other things. I ended up hand selecting each potato which took a lot more time than I expected. I am over thinking everything about the meal & prep. I will be greatly relieved when this first time is over, and I have some experience doing this meal.
