Thank you for sharing, Twins. Beautiful.

A belated Happy Birthday to blessed!

My day has been totally off. My morning routine was thrown off by having to jump through hoops to get my sleep medicine appointment rescheduled. I’ve been trying to do that since Thursday and never gotten a call back, and the appointment was for 10 this morning. I wanted to make sure they knew I wasn’t just a no-show. And I hoped we could just do it as a virtual appointment. But the doctor wants to see me in person. It doesn’t appear that I have actually gotten DD’s Covid; I have tested negative, but there’s still the issue of being able to take the car on the freeway.

Anyhow, that threw off my morning routine, and I’m having difficulty getting back on the horse.

Since I tested negative, I was able to go to girls’ night. The squash toasts I made were amazing, if I say so myself — almost worth the effort to make them. I have ingredients for a second batch for home, but I was just so sore after spending the day on my feet making them that I’m trying to think of something else to be made with a large butternut squash.

I want to go back to sleep. But I should wake DC, have some lunch, then see if I have some payroll work to do, so I guess that’s what I will do,

It is cooler today so I tried a recipe and did brownies in a bundt pan smaller size. House smells amazing they are cooling now.
I have knitted a bit on my washcloth I'm working on this week it is half done.
Got the trash dumped.
Had an egg mid morning.
Thinking what is next for me to do I suppose I need to get my bujo list made up that might help.
I remembered some fun field trips when I went with the kids when they were in their teens jr hi age.

squash toasts
I'm intrigued by this dish. It sent me to search for recipes and found several diverse ways of making it.

Pork chops simmered in butter & BBQ sauce are ready to eat. I was going to make a side dish but needed to take a break first.

-------later.......

forget having a break. It was a good thought

Many phone calls later we have settled several details of selling our land. A couple of people at the settlement company have started working on the deed and we are planning to have it signed and recorded in the next couple of days. This must be the simplest & easiest real estate transaction ever (at least in our experience).
Stay curious. Challenge assumptions. Success loves persistence.

thank you for the RH thoughts Twins'. Yes we can begin at a new or different beginning.

It is my day for being at my substitute dd43 job. :geek:
In-person classwork is done. Spanish is done. Snack time. I have taken notes on some teacher's plans for her.

Early went with HRH to his appt and then brief grocery trip. At his appt as I waited in waiting room I saw a second cousin I haven't seen in decades. That was rare - we both said we seldom see anyone we know.

HRH called me to computer re: butternut squash yesterday because of a photo showing an arbor with the squash hanging so uniformly in a pretty arc. He wondered if it was fake, it was so attractive. But some of the varieties are just that pretty. Burpee has one.

I’m waiting for dmom; she is being discharged today. Getting discharged is a big hassle. Dmom says after you sign your papers, you cease to exist. It’s taken her a long while to get someone to bring her down to the front door.
Sigh.
I hope she is ready to be home alone again.

I think dcousins will stay at dbil’s tonight. I certainly hope so. They were both at our house when I left.
Dh is very upset bc he had me call the doctor and ask for oral steroids, and the nurse sounded like that would be fine. Then they called in the same gout med that dh has been taking. !!!!-;)@“(:-!!!
And of course they are closed now.

I’m sorry I’ve been so self-centered lately.
Twins, I LOVE that quote.
Editing chapters, leaving some behind… y’all will be happy to know I finally am feeling like I’m able to edit some. Not to forget completely, but I have prayed to be able to put memories in their proper place… and I * think * I am finally beginning to do that.
Tomorrow is another day.
