Write it Wednesday PWYC

Post by Twins' Mom »

Write it down! Whether it's a grocery list, some OMM stuff, or a little figuring on the back of an envelope, write it down! And journals too!

Yes to capturing and documenting many details! I had this discussion with DD12 yesterday. She can't remember all the things she need to do (school assignments, etc) and is frustrated that she is losing her memory.

RR - thinking of you this morning as you travel.

Kathryn - Where are you?

We missed the main part of the storm last night. No damage here. I don't know if the storm caused it, but the widespread electricity grid is down. Many areas involving multiple electrical providers in our state have no power. Schools have been cancelled.

It is a tradeoff. Would you rather have a NOISY generator running continually or have no electricity? The generator enabled me to have coffee so I'm dealing with the NOISE.

Hi!

I spent most of yesterday reading. I started a paperback in the morning and finally finished it around 1 in the morning. Has anyone here read any books by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child?

Dh has requested a "sheet pan" meal. Not sure if he wants turkey or chicken.

I have a bunch of places to go today. Dh keeps asking me when I want to leave to go to Costco. I have no desire to leave until after the school buses have done their thing. Dh just wants to get going. I would actually prefer to go and do these things alone without him, but he wants to help.

I haven't. Do you recommend it? Is so, what do you like about it?

The second tray of vegetables are roasting. I don't know how long I will continue to roast vegetables every day. You would think we would get tired of them but so far, they have quickly disappeared. Any way to get the family to eat real food is a win in my books. Last night we ordered fast food and picked it up. They had burgers, fries and shakes. I opted out of fast food because past experiences of feeling yucky after eating it.

We have 30 minutes before leaving for appt in the city. We have several stops to make while there. The unknown factor is whether electricity will be restored by the time we get there and if businesses will be open. I have less than 1/4 tank of gas so need to find a gas station that is running on a generator

Good morning! I was actually up early this morning, so I could drop my car off at the shop and have DH run me back home before heading to work, but I got sucked into reading the internet after breakfast, so here I am with nothing accomplished yet. I am still trying to get back on the horse, and I don’t know how I fell off!

At any rate, I need to head back upstairs and make my bed and clean my CPAP, which I didn’t do before rushing off to the mechanic. I can wake DC while I’m up there (and maybe DD, who is usually up well before now but may just have not come downstairs yet). Then, maybe, I will make some tea; I’m just so bleary.

I’m glad you did not get the hail, LadyM, and I would definitely put up with the compressor noise for the sake of the power, if only for the fridge and freezer. Good luck finding a gas station!

I would agree with waiting for the school buses to be done, Cathy!

DD is, indeed, up, so off I go to harass DC! Have a good one!

I am not ready for it but the first Christmas gift has come in to put in my closet - It stresses me out that I have to start thinking about that.

It's 11:30 a.m. of another day and I can't get moving. I need to go to grocery store today and have already ordered deli meat/cheese to pick up. I'm still sleeping poorly because my hip aches, and I don't have my next body work scheduled until next week. And I'm just slow - recovering from activity of last week.

I did walk four laps with the dog this a.m. because I ran into dfriend M walking as I was finishing my anticipated two laps, so we walked two more.

Heading to store right now. I hear dh coming in for his lunch at home.

Speaking of holidays & gifting digging in my gift stash I brought up a basket with items in it for gifts to use later.
Note cards in it, gift bags I'd seamed up, reading glasses, and... I have a tote with scarves and a poncho not sure what else is in it.
I counted dish cloths I've made including the last one underway I have 14 of them.
I have cups collected some for gifts others cmas themes might be for decor undecided.
Had to replace a few last year.

Dd is doing baby showers she has friends with teens that are getting baby showers so some items
could go in for gifts baskets or prized for games.

A bit of the sniffles has changed up my plans for today a bit.
Got the rocks drying I put a bit more pinpoint paints on eyes have pupils now.
Journaling and writing is under way luv this theme.

Hi there! :)

Home from monthly chiro appointment. Stopped to get car inspected at a DMV near there on the way home. Glad to have passed, & even more glad that I remembered that inspection was due. Without a reminder card I wouldn't have. Years ago I put a manila envelope behind the kitchen calendar to put notes, reminders & appointments for the next year(s). The "Get car inspected" note was attached to this month when I set up the 2023 calendar.

I received the best email ever -- I've been excused from upcoming jury duty :D . Didn't even ask to be excused (& won't ask why :P ). Everything is done online now since my last time serving years ago. Whatever the reason was, I won't be called on again for three years. So happy! I'm printing out the email to put behind the calendar just in case they contact me to serve before three years is up.

The Write it Wednesday topic is so appropriate for me today & also this entire month, it seems. My To Do list keeps growing every day to the point that I have been feeling very overwhelmed. Hoping I can get caught up soon & things slow down some so I can stop putting out fires & also spend more time here. I'm eager to decorate the house for Fall but need to dust & vacuum first. Hurt my back a little recently so will ask dh if he will vacuum. Chiro told me once that vacuuming & snow shoveling are top activities that can cause back problems.

Recently saw the same D isney vacation commercial a few times that has a smiling N emo fish in it. Said "Hi Dee!" out loud each time :) . I like having reminders like that of her, & only cried a little the first time I saw it. Glad her avatar was something so familiar. It's like a little hello from heaven whenever I see anything with N emo in it.

I have a meeting tonight so dh is on his own for dinner. I thawed some chicken yesterday to make chicken salad for lunch today. We have lots of romaine lettuce & the last of the farm stand tomatoes. It's always a bummer when the stand closes for the season. Tomatoes were extra delicious this year.

~~~ Waving to everyone -- hope you all have a wonderful day! :)
