Thank you for starting us off today LadyM!
I overslept, but that's okay. Knitting doesn't start until 10:30.
No idea what's for supper tonight, but dh is heading to the grocery store for fruit. I've asked him to check to see what he might find for supper.

Re: Follow through Thursday
Yesterday my day took an unexpected turn. While driving to the city I experienced a sharp unrelenting pain in my right ribcage area. It came out of nowhere with no warning. I was driving 75mph at the time it started, so I was limited in how to respond to the excruciating pain. I quickly learned if I positioned myself in a certain way then pain became dull. If I moved slightly from that position the excruciating pain returned. That gave me confidence that it was a muscle cramp and not life threatening.
While driving we were talking on the vehicle speaker with the buyer and agreeing to still meet at our appt to finalize them buying the land even though we didn't know if the title company would have electricity. Upon arrival we found the office closed. We had a small hope that someone would be there for our appointment even though they had no phones or power. Ohs well.
I had a list of several stops to make while in the city but all of them lost their priority because of the pain I was experiencing. We found a gas station with electricity (generator?) and was able to fill up with gas so we could get back home.
I spent the rest of the day being best friends with heating pad and OTC pain meds. I found the greatest relief by laying in the bright hot sunshine. It was like having a full body heating pad. By the time I went to bed 90% of the pain was gone. I am being gentle with my body movement today and expect a full recovery.
On a slightly frustrating but easily resolved matter. My FB sense device suddenly decided to quit working this morning. Thankfully I had purchased another FB device when I saw a good sale, so I had one to immediately put into service. I got it set up and working while I was getting DD12 ready for school. Once back home the FB versa device was ready to be used.
PODA -
** sign papers to sell land. We are waiting for the title company to get electricity so we can make another appt. Hopefully, that will happen today. The new owner has already handed us a certified check for the purchase price. DH and I decided to not cash the check until we signed papers.
** DD12 to/from school
** Homeschool with DS15
** IEP meeting for DD12 speech @1pm
** Parent/teacher meeting with DD12 Math teacher @4pm
Going to the gym is being ignored for now. I want to give my body time to recover from yesterday and there is also very little time available for it even if I wanted to go.

Re: Follow through Thursday
Hope you feel better, LadyM.
Problem with morning walks - as dawn comes later and later by the clock, more and more encounters happen. Today ds knew I was in the yard and chatted there before work. Then still on my own driveway saw d-truck-farming-cousin coming out of dd's driveway in his golf cart. He saw me and came into mine to talk. He'd been rounding up cows ever since dd called him a half-hour earlier when she saw one looking in her window. We talked a long time because 1) he's in favor of an effort to have our road designated a certain kind of corridor, and 2) his dmother wants to come visit me and 3) didn't HRH want him to come take a look at our house insulation, and 4) another cousin is going to have a skunk for a pet but don't worry, it's de-scented. And before we finished talking, dstepson was driving in from his all-night work and saw me on my driveway talking to a man and of course couldn't let that lie, so drove in to make sure all was good and ended up talking a long time with us both about cars and work and so much, and as each of them was eventually (and I mean eventually) getting themselves turned around to drive away, neighbor lady is walking along road with her dog on leash. As the golf cart stops to look both ways and say "hello", the dog, who figures he'll go see his friends who are dcousin's dogs, jumps into the golf cart waiting to be carried along, stalling all forward motion as we all try to convince the stubborn dog to back out of the cart rather than entwine leash, and walk instead.
Sigh.
I just picked up a flyer from the mailbox and went home.
I can't go before dawn - I can't see well enough. I can't wear a disguise; I'll get too much attention.

Re: Follow through Thursday
Good morning! I am still moving slowly, though not as slowly as the last several days. The only thing that I expect to take me out of the house is driving DD to work; my car is fixed, and her ankle is hurting. The good news on the car is that it was just an oxygen sensor; the bad news is that that particular sensor failing is often a sign that the catalytic converter is on its last legs. So, the mechanic says, keep your fingers crossed!
I hope you are feeling better soon, LadyM, and your title office gets power.
Harmony, I hope your DH is pleasantly surprised by your financial situation.
Oh, Harriet! I read your morning’s (mis)adventures to my DD. That was really something! I hope Twins’ morning walk is much less eventful — on the other hand, it could make more entertaining reading!
Cathy, I’m sure your dinner will be tasty, whatever it is. You and LadyM describe the tastiest meals.
I am going to head down to base camp on Mt. Washmore. I am falling behind again, and I still haven’t caught up with the backlog.

Re: Follow through Thursday
Harriet I too have been wondering about my walking schedule and got way laid talking with a neighbor. I do have a flash light and reflective vest.
For pre dawn and post dusk and folks cannot tell who I am.
Today I slept in and did not get up till 6:30 it's been raining.
Did my qt.
Glad for the items I brought in to get em out of the rain now I need to put them else where.
I got the silk flowers washed for the living room glad that is done.
I dusted the china hutch and it has different items on it now gotta luv a fresh look.
I am glad I did some kit. counter spiffing after dark last night that helps.
I have been contemplating things I can do when it's lite out and inside things for the darker hours.
I have enjoyed a bit of cocoa in my coffee this morning. (_)p.
I do enjoy the deck with less stuff on it I will say.
I have made some follow through progress.
Some of the items I took off the deck to get out of the rain are now in the shed.
One other side table I put to use till I can get the tools out of here that dson wants.
I texted him and am waiting for a response.
Got more rain.
I have one more stool to move but for now it is in used with a plant on it till
I bring it inside bc of frost warnings could be a month before that happens looked it up mid. Oct.
So yes I was correct apx 3 wks to a mo.

Re: Follow through Thursday
I don't think anyone will be jumping up and down with excitement over our supper tonight.
Cheeseburger Macaroni Hamburger Helper.
Dh couldn't go to the grocery store that he wanted to as the highway was closed just before the exit he would need. He ended up going to another grocery store and didn't get any meat, other than a package of "imitation crab". That's what the packaging says. He will most likely have that for lunch tomorrow.

Cathy Im. crab is made with potato starch and was not good on my blood sugar.
I luv it but had to go for the real stuff for me.
That reminds me I need to prep. some boiled eggs for my dinner.
------
I luv the theme of this thread today!
Followed through dson let me know today was a good day for getting the tools.
So I loaded them up and we had a good talk when I took em over.
Then I came home and put the side table back in the basement next to my loom where it was.
Saw 4 deer on my way home young ones in a neighborhood.
Still a bit rainy out have not walked yet.

Re: Follow through Thursday
I am still feeling lethargic. I was up around eight, walked the dog only one lap, and have napped some more this morning. I have no motivation to do anything right now.
I'm not working out today - they texted yesterday that the head trainer has COVID and other two aren't feeling well. The facility is open today if I wanted to workout on my own (no thanks) but no personal training.
I'm upstairs at my desk but haven't actually looked at the revision work. I did spend awhile on it last night while dh had company but dh wanted me to sit down and eat dinner with them.
We're supposed to look at a condo on the river at 5:30. It's overpriced and in not great shape and dh wants to look at it. I'd love to own one there for weekends - being there is so relaxing - but feel like dh is going to play with our emotions and get us hooked into wanting it. I'd just as soon not look at it right now.
Edit: the condo hasn't been listed online yet, although dh was told it would be listed today. So our realtor can't set up an appointment until it's official. So dh is to let me know.

Re: Follow through Thursday
I am very thankful to be able to return to normal doings today. It is not a bit fun when the body suddenly stops allowing normal activities. It has given me a renewed appreciation of having painfree working body parts.
DH and I signed papers today and the land sale is finalized. It is no longer our responsibility. ***Big sigh of relief***
While in the city we also accomplished the things that had to be postponed yesterday.
** Return package dropped off at UPS
** Pantry restock at Sam's. We were shopping from a list so just the normal things we repetitively purchase. Both DH and I were surprised at the price increase. One cart of food was over $400. I have price matched most of these items with 3 other stores and am confident they are the best price. Thankfully we can afford the price increases, but it does make me more aware of the financial challenges some are dealing with to just buy essentials.
I met with 4 school staff for DD12 yearly IEP for speech. They all had kind words to say about DD12 attitude in school and her off the chart scoring in ELA. DD12 has A's in all classes but she is well known for her language skills. I am happy with the school learning environment that DD12 is in.
Next up -
** Meet with DD12 math teacher. DD12 says her teacher goes so fast explaining things that she doesn't have time to understand how to solve the new type of math problems. I countered that DD12 is making A's in Math so apparently, she does understand it. DD12 says she is just guessing and is clueless about how to actually do the problems. I want to get the math teacher side of this and hopefully help DD12 feel confident in doing Math. I have been told by those who know DD12 that she breezes through other subjects (science, history, ELA, etc) but Math is a subject that challenges her and doesn't come as easy.
