I finally decided to work on a genealogy line that I am somewhat enthusiastic about working on. That did the trick and I got absorbed and focused for awhile. That's the trick of having several craft or sewing projects going at once so one can jump around as needed on whatever day.

Our realtor think these people are having second thoughts about selling this condo. Anyway, if it goes on the market we'll see it eventually. We are not buying anyway, at the price they are talking.

I'm making the pizza stuffed peppers for our dinner tonight. Green peppers need to be used! I hadn't planned to cook since I thought we'd be out for awhile. We do have leftover brisket that needs to be used or go into the freezer, and leftover lasagne, and deli meats that could be used for a wrap. Also frozen burgers that could go onto the grill and dh's keto  buns.

This is something of another long weekend for us. Monday is Yom Kippur. We'll be at temple on Sunday evening, and again Monday a.m. I come home to make kugel for the break the fast, and dh stays the day. I try to get back by four, and the service is typically over by 5:45ish and there's the big break the fast.

Got a walk in and washed up the dishes after that.
Napped a bit.
Took another stool out to the shed making progress on getting the stuff put away for fall prep.
It is still raining cool and damp out.
Had my dinner.
I put diff. lltes on for tonight.

Dishwasher is going now. I also have a load coming out of the dryer shortly.

Plus I finished one scarf and started another one. I had a nap this afternoon.

I've got an interesting movie on beside me and I keep getting lost here watching it. Usually I can just listen a bit as I concentrate on the computer...but couldn't tonight. Ok...focus!!

I've noticed the increase $ for sure in the supermarket. Mystery, yes DH was happily surprised. We are just ok going day to day and anything set aside other than this will probably be eaten up by the medical problems here .. and inflation. So, someday we might need it all and we can't go around spending like crazy. It's called planning for the future. I keep trying to ease DH's mind about his not working, but probably in a few months we will have the same conversations again.

LadyM, you haven't figured out what your pain was from? You must be really proud of DD. She really sounds smart.

Went with DH to his lab draw this morning and it was insanely early and I hadn't had enough sleep. I went because he had acted like he wasn't sure where this place was last night. He drove and went right to it with no help. But I think he got the lab work messed up somehow. I had waited in the car which was a mistake. The one test that is covered once a year had been ordered by the dr. but they said it was too early to get it and wanted $163+ for it. My records said he hasn't had this done since August 2022. I don't understand. I went through all the records when we got home and everything I have says this same thing.
He immediately forgot what they told him there so couldn't explain it and because I wasn't inside with him he just said don't do the test. I think they're just trying to get paid upfront because insurance doesn't always cover it and then people don't pay them. sigh..... We'll get it in another 6 months, but may have to pay upfront and wait 6 months for reimbursements. It's really not fair. We have good insurance and don't have copays or deductibles.

One LOL done and hanging up. Didn't get it done early to be able to bring it in.

Anyway, I've been feeling like life's way too complicated, just something all the time coming up to take care of. And I'm tired.
I see the rest of you handling stuff like this all the time, why can't I? Something to think about.

Surprised to just have to take a few photos again because at this late point in the year, a few plants have rallied, and one area has a flush of blooming like crazy. A complete surprise. Other areas look their age, lol.

While in the yard, the distant school stadium must have had a game and weather conditions must have been just right. The Star-Spangled Banner came wafting across the way, as clear as could be. So, I sang, of course. Of course I did. HRH was calling to me from inside when it was finished asking what on earth was wrong. I suppose he was worried about mental health, but I was just being patriotic.

Today Follow Through has been about continuing to organize and declutter.
Like Twins', a little enthusiasm for a project has helped.

I lost a pair of walking/cross training shoes to an unknown something. A gash right through the leather of the front, nowhere near a seam. It looks as though it could have come from "weed eating" with too strong a machine, but I haven't done any. HRH says whatever it was, thank you to the shoes, which took a serious slash for me. I've ordered another pair. I've been a fan of Skech ers Energy in black for a couple decades now, a recommendation from Teresa Tapp because of their wide toe box to allow comfort while holding positions like lunges.

My sleeping has been better, possibly helped by changing the timing of the new pill to breakfast. I've gotten up to a 7-day average of 6 hrs 45 mins. The past 2 nights I've hit 7 hours, although there is tossing.

Harmony, you see one handling a category of things well one day, another handling something else well another. Don't assume there's a blanket competency for everybody but you, okay? You could call the dr's office and tell them that there seemed to be some mix-up and had they understood that... .. did they know the reason.

Hi all!

LadyM asked where I was yesterday. Overwhelmed and staying offline to limit that feeling. I have no self control and spend too much time mindlessly surfing while online.

I'm up at Hay Lake now.

Getting off was very stressful. Dh had put off pulling my hard drive from the broken computer and I needed the data for this trip as part of my getting the new computer mostly fully up and running. When he finally went to do the task on Monday (after I melted down in frustration since he had offered to do it repeatedly but never did when I asked him to), he couldn't find the cable he needed so ordered a new one from Amazon (rather than go buy one from a store because that would require him not doing his exercise bike in order to get it before I had the car to go out with a friend.) Then he opened my broken laptop and discovered my drive was an SSD one so had to order an enclosure for an SSD drive which arrived after dinner on Tuesday and didn't work.

So I had another bad sleep on Tuesday night because I would be leaving without my files. We had a diner breakfast with ds and dgs2 and he, being a computer tech, brought tools and confirmed that the drive was good, the enclosure dh ordered was bad, found one in stock and sent dh to get it, installed the drive into it and confirmed I can now see the files from my old computer.

While all this was happening, the service guy called Wednesday morning to ask if my motherboard had arrived for the broken computer. Turns out it is being shipped to me, not him. Which is bad news since no-one is home now. Sigh... We've booked a tentative appointment for next Friday. It occurs to me he'll have to put the drive back in my computer when he replaces the motherboard since dh isn't around to do it.

Sadly, all that runaround cost me 3 hours on Wednesday. I got off on time to arrive at Hay Lake for 4:30 (the official arrival time) but had got an email that morning saying I could come up early since the cabin was ready for me. So I missed that opportunity.

I'm still decompressing. I completed one cut and tape task (literally, not on the computer). I've gone for walks. I've sipped tea on the porch. And I finally got turned on my computer tonight. It works but I've spent over an hour just surfing, not working. It is past bedtime now.

I slept poorly last night because my mind wouldn't stop racing. I would sleep but kept waking up feeling like I'd been in a long conversation over something. The night dragged.

The weather is gorgeous so that's a bonus. It was 32F when I got up and sat outside with my tea this morning and I watched through the mist as a kayaker went by with a tuque and mittens. I baked bran muffins to heat up the cabin a bit. By 10 it was sunny and almost 60. I took off my old nail polish, my shower, repainted my finger nails and then went for a walk.

After my brunch (leftovers from yesterday's diner breakfast) it warmed up to the high of 70. I sat in the sun on the porch with my cut and tape project, then had an early dinner and watched some downloaded TV. I was back out on the porch tonight when it was 60, sipping my tea and listening to the insects and birds in the dark, the only light being the moon on the water.

Hi everyone! Tomorrow my car will spend part of the day at the spa getting a power transfer unit, which is covered by the regular warranty. I did not get an extended warranty. It is also my day off on the 9/80 schedule and I plan on spending the day on Halloween party prep: invitations, cleanup, and inventory of what I have.

Time to finish up the daily chores.

LadyMaverick: Right sided pain under the lower ribcage is a classic gall bladder symptom. It can come on suddenly. Position changes, particularly stretching it out by leaning left are known to make it feel better. I hope that NONE of this applies to you!

No one sees me accomplishing much of anything, Harmony.
Dmom is fine, cousins have returned to their homes, but I am doing nothing!

This has been my week:
At DH’s insistence, we did the towel laundry last night and today.
We went to daunts’ bday party tonight.
We ate supper with the cousins M-W and they also came to our house for lunch Wednesday.
I went to my teacher group meeting Tuesday.
Otherwise, nothing. Weekly/Daily/Anything else? Nope.

Hope your pain stays away, LadyM!
Tomorrow is another day.
