Hi!

It's going to be another busier than usual day.

We will be going to the landfill with a load, plus we want to bring home 3 bags of compost. I already have 3 donations for the food bank to "pay" for the compost. We also have to go to the bank to drop off a deposit.

I've emptied the dishwasher and refilled it. It's doing it's job now. The dish rack also got emptied and the sink is full of utensils. Stove top is clear and clean.

Nothing in the dryer to put away. I did that yesterday. There is a small load of dirty clothes. Not enough to do yet.

No idea what is for supper yet.

I would love to go to the book store today as there are a couple of books coming out today that I want to buy. It all depends on how the rest of the day goes. I promised dh that concord grape jelly would be made today.

I am enjoying having a normal Tuesday. Having a busy peaceful household with no angst is something I do treasure.

TADA's -
** DD12 delivered to school. We chatted about her reluctance to wear the glasses the doctor and school say that she needs.
** Personal AM cards done
** Kitchen opened, and AM cards done.
** 1st hourly step goal met.

PODA -
** DD12 to/from school
** DS15 homeschool assignments monitored and checked
** 9:30 Gym with DH and DS15
** 4pm Go out to eat with DD12
** 4:30pm Meet DD46 to shop for DD12 some clothes. DD12's focus is on finding some skirts.
** 6:30pm DD12 appt with counselor. I made some notes of items I would like to have counselor feedback-
***** DD12 is requesting to be tested for autism. How do we proceed to have that done?
***** DD12 is remembering some abusive situations that happened when she was young (under 6 years old) and living with her mother.
***** DD12 is making comments about having a poor memory. She is struggling to remember everything that she needs to do. We started using a monthly formatted paper calendar to track her daily exercise, appointment, and school project due dates. She is reluctant to use any planner or paper calendar and struggles to put things on the correct day block. Recommendation on how to proceed to develop organizational habits that will benefit DD12.
***** Visual depiction. DD12 doesn’t see things in her mind. Example - thinking about an apple tree doesn't result in her having a picture of an apple tree in her head. Also, she struggles to process the numbers written on the board in Math class.

Deep cleaning/Decluttering/organizing -
** Kitchen - Empty the four drawers next to the stove. Go through items with fresh eyes and only keep the items used. Deep clean drawers and organize items being kept.
** SUV - Deep clean between 2nd and 3rd row of seats.
** Garden - Remove a plant that is at the end of its season.

Cathy S. that will be a great aroma grape jelly cooking yum!
LM would color coding help with dd12?

I got up at 4:00 with purpose that was good.
Forgot to put what was meaningful yesterday gardening and the outside work I did.
While others were mowing I ignored that chore and moved plants around so they could be where I wanted when God watered.
Woke up to rain. I have some seeds from sunnies but actually I think they are some wild type daisies. They make me smile.

Got qt & journaling
I am still off track a bit with my bujo as I shift things & focus a bit but it's a work in progress.
Glad for the inside stuff I got done yesterday.
Still need to mop did the dining and some of the kitchen, take the trash to the curb done.
Feeling better sinuses are good today yea!

BS was in ack land however.
Yesterday in the mail I got cc from old acct. cut them up promptly one had my name one had lh & I both on em.
Nope not doing those as the bank no longer deals with that co. the other co. is more secure.
Also glad that did not trigger a grief response yea!

Usually on Mondays I feel pretty unproductive because I've been busy. Right now, even more so on the Tuesday after Monday Yom Kippur.

There's a Berenstein Bear book that is "Too much Birthday" when Sister Bear gets overstimulated and overwhelmed at a birthday party and throws a fit. Years ago I found a meme that is a photoshop of that with "Too much Yuntif," Yuntiff or Yontiff meaning holidays or festivals. There's Selichot before, then Rosh Hashana then Yom Kippur, and later this Saturday Sukkot and then a week later Simchat Torah/Shemimi Atzeret. Thank goodness I don't feel a call to be at every service/observance because I am tired.

Just talked to dd for 30 minutes. She will be here tomorrow afternoon for a wedding "renewal of vows" this Saturday. Talking to her I got weepy, I'm just feeling so tired and listless.

Some ta das. I need to celebrate what I am doing
-long talk with dd
-walked ddog three laps, I think
-emptied dishwasher while talking to dd
-fed the dog
-straightened great room
-got garbage can out early with dog poop added to it
-refilled meds for the week

d Lucy - I agree you are doing good! I love God-winks.

hello hello d twins!
I like the idea of adding up some ta da's

hi d cathy hope you busy day is a great day!
I hope you get a chance to go to the book store!

hi d lady-
yay on your morning!
cheering you through your PODA!!!

Thinking of your sweet daughter 12. I know we went through that with dd younger re: memory and how her brain processed information.

The memory can also be affected by puberty, hormones and stress reaction. I would look up peer reviewed articles on memory in the female adolescent brain, memory and stress hormones in the female adolescent brain. There are a lot of peer reviewed (check dates) that should pop up. I no longer have an account with ERIC but you should be able to find something. You can ask the school, her psychologist for recommendations.

My ADHD really showed up after puberty.

Dd had to color code too d Nancy especially after not being able to read. letters just fell off the page if the pages were white.

RE: Not seeing images: A small % of people have aphantasia - they do not see the images that many of us see - not a bad thing but it is what it is - a lot of times the people who have aphantasia do not know that they see things differently than others. the descriptions are just facts - no visual in their brain. It is also on a scale.

Our youngest daughter had testing through a specialized child psychiatric and psychologist team from the hospital ( her neurologist recommended) who tested dd(she had 5 concussions in her life and she lost her ability to see words on paper etc after her last severe concussion). They were a big help! The neurologist team really helped dd to know what her brain was okay and how to reteach herself when things go off track.

d twins
I remember the Bernstein bear book! Of course you are tired! you have been a very very busy woman! You need this week to help your body and brain off the busy weekend etc. that adrenaline kept you going through the busy but the quick crash is hard on the body/brain. Be kind to yourself!

hi d Nancy I love the smell of grape jelly -
I learn so much from you - your journalling and what you work on during your day. lots of inspiration.

I wish you all a good day!
it is always a joy to be here with you!

Good morning! This will be short; I am at the dentist’s office getting numb before a crown. After this, I’ll need to run DC to the college and DD to work before a psychiatrist appointment (med check).

LadyM, you mentioned that your DD prefers online organization tools. Would you mind sharing what she’s been using? DC needs something and does not do well with a paper planner. She doesn’t like any of the apps I use (Alarmed for alarms, Habitica for a task list/motivation, and Trello for my cards, if anyone is curious). There is a name for not being able to visualize things, but I can’t remember it.

I think completing my appointments and running around would be a sufficient ta-da, but I must get at least one load of laundry done today as well.

Blessed - THANK YOU for sharing that valuable information. I took notes from the things you shared.

Home from gym. We missed several days of going to gym and we can tell! DH and I were both surprised by the difference missing a few days made in our physical abilities. We couldn't return to the speed & incline that we had built up to doing. We had to drop back to a slower speed and will rebuild from there. When I am exercising, I keep an eye on my heart rate and push my speed and incline according to what the heart rate is doing.

SUV has been cleaned out between 2nd and 3rd row of seats. All I can say is .... What a bunch of pack rats we are! I took the folding chairs out and put them where they belong. Removed the 5 walking poles and put them away. Organized the multiple bluetooth headphones that connect to the vehicle entertainment screens so they are all together in a single storage bag. The vehicle entertainment screens/headphones used to get lots of usage but now the kids rarely use them. They prefer to use their phones now. Found a pair of wireless headphone buds that DS15 has been searching for several weeks. Then there was the trash that innocently (!!!!) gets shoved under the seats. Everything is cleared out and hopefully we will be less of pack rats in the future.
DD prefers online organization tools.
DD12 says she prefers online to paper but she doesn't want to use either one. I keep all the family activities on google calendar that are color coded to the person. DD12 has it on her phone but does she use it? Nope.

If you can't tell.....I'm being a bit pushy with DD12 learning to use a planner/calendar. I am trying to be gentle about it but there is that line that I have drawn that she will use it. We are going to involve her counselor in this effort. I don't want using a calendar/planner to become a conflict between DD12 and me. The counselor is usually in DD12 corner on most everything, so we will see how this goes.

-sorted and started laundry
-breakfast/brunch and meds/vitamins
-folded laundry on kitchen table and put away, cleared kitchen table
-made the bed
-brushed teeth, washed face and lotioned
-hung up laundry to dry and started another load
-this concluded a.m. routine - I'll do balance exercises when I work out
-picked zinnias for breakfast room table - they are still blooming their hearts out

I have a workout at 2 and later body work at 4:30. My right hip is still hurting along with the right hip flexor. I never realized how hard and uncomfortable our temple pews are. Maybe it's just the body aches kicking in.

I'll need to eat a snack in the next hour or so before workout.
