hello!
thank you so much for the start d harriet!!!

oh ta da's and to do's Love that!!!

yay on your ta da's and to do's to come!

hi d cathy - I bet your dh will look very spiffy when he comes back!
have a good day too

hi d twins - I am with you on the slow start! enjoy your walk

hi d lady I hope you get back on to your usual game. I wonder if you have have a bit of a virus! hope you feel better

hi d Nancy enjoy your day!

My d mom is home and dd is home!!!! it's wonderful to have my family together again.
d mom had a confusing moment yesterday - not know which home she was at. She realized the problem. So now we have worked out that if she does not see an ocean she is in Chicago. It has been great have her home. dd - I can not express how wonderful it is.

Yesterday I went into a restaurant for the first time since 2019 - crazy.

Something happened yesterday that really scared me. I worry about Alzheimers bc of my family history. Yesterday there was a man and his young 15 year old daughter arguing with each other. She said she wanted to have lunch with her parents too and the man said he wanted his son to be there. She had brought her dog. He was so angry and she was crying. I don't know what Happened but I said something - I never ever do that. he was very angry and they he decided to leave and say why did they ever to go lunch. I honestly don't know what happened to me. I was in shock that I said something angrily --oh my gosh I wish I could find him and apologize. It really scared me that I would even interact with a person like this- it hit me fast! I will tell the my gp this appointment bc this was so so unlike me. Gosh I hope that it's not Alzheimers sneaking it's way in. Terrifying this happened. So unlike me. I am usually pretty understanding and let it go! phew this one took my breath away. so I am saying my prayers and ask for a test for Alzheimers - I would rather know if I will start having issues.

okay I will pick up mom for lunch soon. it's a very hot day today. No thank you!. I have started very late.
dishes washing
coffee had
woke up at 9
empty boxes of things that came in.
mom is at home by herself as she is cleaning - oh my gosh it's amazing. She is so happy and she is also in shock that she will be here until the 27th. AS for me I will be eating it up.
it is always a joy to be here with you!

The situation must have been extremely loud or over-the-top with tension and you reacted. I'd say blessed continues to be the sweetest, calmest person ever, unchanged. Is it possible that you felt an interjection of ANY kind might save the 15-year-old girl more tears? Actually, if you and the restaurant surroundings became the bad guys in that moment, then that's possibly a good change, allowing the two family members to be back on the same "side".

LadyM, I'm sorry you haven't felt up to par in the last couple days and hope it's nothing. I'm amused because I thought you were totally on your game and have been reading with such interest your recent posts in H and F. Meaning to ask you about them - might follow you on a few ideas.

Big construction equipment is also present in our extended neighborhood.

BookSaver is missed - she would be so welcome if she could come and hang out with us with her new password?

Desk Day is accomplished - this time it was barely enough to call a chore.
Except for that DPC that just won't call back and is sorta causing me some trouble.

HRH had asked if anyone else has noticed that the perforations on paper towels seem to have become a stronger bond than the rest of the paper. No matter what angle he tugs, he seems to get diagonal tears instead, and he holds it up in the air and says, "See! I told you!". Maybe they are making them differently, or maybe he is finding a self-fulfilling towel prophesy.

Time to start the broccoli sprouts, then the sewing.

Went to Costco. There were numerous empty parking spots!!

Got out of there for less than $300. To be fair, half of that was Depends. Then there was a case of cat food with 48 cans in the case... Shhh... there was also a massive pumpkin pie for $7.99 I will be freezing 3/4 of it.

We decided on steak for supper.

Another symptom that DH and I are experiencing with this what-ever-it-is-virus is mental confusion. I noticed my brain fog yesterday & again this morning when I sat down to do my daily planning and didn't have the bandwidth to update my paper daily planner and running to-do lists. I immediately conceded that the virus wins today and I stopped trying.

Meanwhile DH decided today was a good day to take our bed frame apart and replace it. I asked if DH needed any help and he said that he had it. An hour later I walked into our bedroom to find that he had been working on it so much that his clothes were wet with sweat. DH couldn't figure out how to put the bedframe together. It is a super simple process and the fact that he was struggling so hard and long with it told me that DH isn't thinking clearly. ANYway we teamed up together and it was done in less than 5 minutes.

Hello everyone. It is a really nice day here also in Virginia. We've had a few mid 80*s days, so the temperature is slowly coming down closer to fall temps. My ddad used to call this time of the year Indian Summer.

Happy Birthday, Cathy!

I was awake in the middle of the night for a while. This happens to me when I fall asleep too early. Anyway I looked in here on my phone for a few minutes, but it is not easy to post from my phone. I want to say Thank You to everyone for the birthday wishes. Ddil-A and dson-T always ask the birthday person what they would like for dinner and what kind of dessert they would like and fix that. I told them chicken, baked potato and a veggie, yellow cake with chocolate icing -- nothing fancy. I also asked them if we could wait until dgrson-C and dgrd-H could be here to get around their work schedule so we could all be together. They all like to have a family night every so often which usually is dinner and a card or board game.

Our a/c is still broken, but with the weather cooler now - not in the high 90*s - it's more pleasant. Ddil is waiting for her ddad to come after he retires from his work sometime this month to help dson put in a new unit. In the meantime they had to replace their clothes dryer and they bought a new sofa and rocking chair set for the den. The chair is a recliner and the sofa has two recliner seats.

Dgrd-H's due date is getting ever closer. She is a month away now and just had a scan this morning. Baby is on track at 30%. Ddil is going to host a baby shower for her this Saturday at a shelter in a nearby park.

My routines are a lot fewer than when I had my own house, so I am able to keep up with everything I want to do. I have been working on a couple of sewing projects; one I just finished yesterday is for dgrd for her baby shower this weekend. Our 2023/2024 bible study has started, so that is some time each day.

(((Blessed)))!

(((Lady M)))

It is nice to be here with you all. I'm going to get busy again!

Hello Sunny! What did you make for the baby shower?

LadyM, I sure hope you guys don't have Covid again. I have never recovered 100% from the brain fog I got when I was sick. It can be quite bad at times. Ordinary words just evade my understanding. I search the hard drive in my brain and finally it comes up with the word. Can be frustrating.

Blessed, I'm thinking your impulsive remark was because you were feeling very triggered by how upset the man was making the young girl upset. Shows your compassion... which we see here a lot in your postings. I would be more afraid of a bad problem if your symptom was a memory thing instead.

Very boring afternoon here. I've been glued to this chair as I researched the new drug programs for 2024. I have to do that for my meds and for DH's. I had to look stuff up with using our coupon for 2 Rx's and for using just the drug program. Took a long while but I got faster at it. Appears as if our costs will be less this year. One drug plan has a $0 premium, and when I use the coupon for 1 of mine and 1 of DH's, I can't find another group that is as good. We'll have to change pharmacies, but I've used this one and they are easy to deal with. And it is also a good place to go to use those coupons. So, now all I have to do is wait till our agent emails, then I will tell him what we want. He will look this stuff up if I want him to, but he won't fuss with the coupon to see if that's still good to use. So I do it myself. I have 5 pages of notes and figures.

Dh had a steak, a yam and some asparagus for supper. I shared part of his steak and I had 2 baked potatoes.

I also cut the grass after I unloaded the car after Costco.

It was a record breaking day here for temperatures.

Sunny, best wishes to your dgdH! Agreeing with Harmony that we're interested in your sewing. Let us know in A, C and N thread all that goes on, especially the enjoyment of giving your creativity at the baby shower!

All the chores done. Still no return call. Sigh.

It was a good sewing day and a good eating day.

Tomorrow morning, I pick dd25 up at the dealership and we go back to my house, where she'll borrow my car while hers is briefly in the shop. The goal is to get her back on the road again quickly enough to make it to work on time. Not a lot of "give" in the time frame.

Also, tomorrow at 2 a friend of HRH's comes by. So, with these changes, I hope I will still have a chance at another good eating day.

Just ci here -- and it's already past 1:00 a.m. for those in EST so -- probably should start a new thread.
I think the virus/allergy is winning here too. I have napped ALL day long.

TA-DA -- took dgrands to school...
back to bed...
went to post office, paid radio station man, phone call with dmom...
back to bed...
phone calls with ds, ddil, ds stopped by to get dgrands' phones and medicines from yesterday...
back to bed...
got up to go to Red Lobster... turned down dh's half-hearted suggestion for movie...
back to bed...
-- y'all are seeing a pattern here, aren't you? Finally it came to me -- even God rested on the Sabbath day, and since rest is NOT happening around here on Sundays, maybe today was my day of rest. MAYBE tomorrow I can get some weekly tasks checked off.

Blessed -- I think that was just your compassion showing through, concern for the teenage girl. (((HUGS)))
Tomorrow is another day.
