Friday starting early PWYC

Post by Twins' Mom »

Me? An early start? Nonetheless I need to today, and I need to keep at it. Join me, I know I'm no the only bleary-eyed one looking for focus and inspiration this morning.

I was up before seven - not that unusual but it's eight and ddog and I have already walked two laps too. Dcleaning lady will be here this morning and I have to be out of the house dressed for a luncheon at THE country club at 11:30. Getting ready at the same time that dcleaning lady is here is challenging for me, and I need to get the house ready first too. Adding to my anxiety, the program last night did not end until nearly 8:30 and by then you could have stuck a fork in me and called me DONE. It was overlong and repetative IMHO - a great cause and the program highlighted the great things happening - but I just need to be home earlier.

I s2s-ed after yesterday's workout and before we went last night, so I will only do a quick rinse in the shower this a.m.

I was planning to go to the library this afternoon, but I may talk myself out of it. We invited dfriends from river over for Shabbat dinner tonight. They have been out of town and dinner is brisket from the freezer and the house will be clean but I'm arguing with myself about whether I should make challah (dh says no, purchase) and what else I should do.

Anyway, I have our sheets already in washer and need to straighten up. Would be good to clean myself up before dcleaning lady gets here too.

Hi!

I had a hard time falling asleep last night. Dh fell asleep before me and woke up an hour after me.

We are going to the falls for groceries this morning, so I don't know what's for supper yet. Dh is in the shower and I'm sure he'll keep to his regular routine and we won't get to the store as early as we usually do.

Dryer is letting me know it's waiting for me to empty it. ~poof~

Good morning!

Starting late today, coming here for accountability. Still in my robe. Need to shower today.

But I'm on the right side of the grass, so that's something!

I was up until midnight and still didn't finish what I wanted to finish. Sigh... That needs to be sent before noon (which is fast approaching.)

Dh, on the other hand, was up early after going to bed early, biked to the hospital to get a non-healing incision looked at (from a tube, not the main one and it was a non-dissolving suture), to the pharmacy to get a Rx and got his flu shot (Covid not available until Monday) and then biked backed to the hospital to find his missing neck warmer (it was below 40 so he was bundled up.) He is back now and reports he won't do his regular exercise bike today! (And he asked and the pharmacist will give me the flu vaccine even though I'm not over 65, I'm a senior in her eyes!) Otherwise I'd have to wait until October 31st for both it and Covid. I wanted to get both prior to the wedding if possible. I'm back to masking all the time but haven't cut out one-on-one visiting yet. I will, starting next week, I think, but my cousin is dropping by tomorrow. Which is another reason I have to get all the residents stuff done today.

Off to the shower. I'm not productive in my dressing gown today (some days I am.)

I am up and have done some of my morning stuff.
Some Rx not time for the other yet. Done.
It is 7:00 here I've been up a while.
It felt good to log the stuff I got accomplished yesterday I did not have time to get it down.
It is my off week for cleaning.
I can move irises back next to the house this fall.
Colorful leaves are great this year.

hello good morning to you!

it's a new day and I am really grateful! Mom was mom yesterday. Feisty and direct! By evening it was a drain but I am sure a drain for her as well 8-)

In the morning there was stress - not drama but a stressful talk that dh needed to have - he has a good heart. I am sad that dd younger will never live near us. But I will just have to accept it and if she is happy I can be happy for her - not exactly what I planned and I know there will be some grief that I have to work through. ;) I always think God smiles at us when we make plans.

time to get going - I have a dear b-in-law coming over to bring me some apple butter he canned himself!

Good morning!

I’m a little sore today; I think from traipsing all through the hospital yesterday. But it was a good visit, and I did get the mask I wanted. The doctor was very nice. (I have seen a different person every time I’ve had the CPAP checkup, and everyone up till now has been a PA or NP; this time was not just a doctor, but the head of the department!) Parking was full, so I ended up having to have the car valet parked, which, thankfully, didn’t cost as much as I’d feared.

About the only other thing I got done yesterday was some laundry. The summit of Mt. Washmore is in sight: DC noticed that many of the clothes in the load came from the hampers the kids sent down. I’m almost through those; then, another load of DH’s shirts should have me caught up to the point where a daily load will be sufficient again.

DH brought home with him a DVD/VCR from school yesterday that they were getting rid of. Well, it may still be a functioning unit. He set it on a folding tray table that I have just managed to bump, sending the thing to the floor. It managed to put a dent in the fireplace screen as it fell, too.

So I should figure out something less destructive to do…. We haven’t worked on the kids’ rooms the last couple of days, so getting back on that horse is a priority. Likewise, further progress on Mt. Washmore. Some decluttering would be useful as well. And not everything fit in the dishwasher last night, so the rest of it should be taken care of. Sounds like a pretty full day! I hope all goes smoothly for you today!

Blessed…
It’s difficult when our children move away from us. I left home at 18 and my son moved to his dads at 15!

Until recently I have never lived close to my son. When he was 7 his Dad and I divorced and after that I spent many many Christmases and Thanksgiving with out him. Never easy for anyone, but you learn to adjust and learn how to celebrate without them. In this day and age many children grow up and move away from their parents due to job opportunity. My brother has 4 adult children and only one of his lives close by.

I slept ok, not as well as the night before, but better than when I was taking my meds at night. Hope that in the days to come it gets better. And to much to my surprise I am no longer having what I thought were sinus headaches. I was told long ago that these headaches were really migraines but I didn’t believe him because my nose was always stuffed up and these headaches were around my forehead not blinding and to one side of my face and eye. Think I am a believer now as I haven’t had one of my “sinus” headaches since starting these meds.

It’s a rainy stormy day here. Went to my coffee gatherings and am now home. Sweetie and I are going out tonight to celebrate our wedding anniversary and hoping it won’t be in the rain. I hate wet feet and there are large puddles every where. Too hot to wear long pants…otherwise I would wear boots!

Just as I got the second load out of the dryer and on to the bed, ready to be put away, dh called out that he'd be in the truck. In other words, he was ready to go get groceries. We went somewhere local and got a very small ham for tonight's supper which will be

... ham, asparagus and cabbage. Weird, but dh wants to use up the cabbage that has been on the counter for a week. I don't have a problem with that. He said he would make supper. I don't have a problem with that either.
