Dove, that's funny!

I am very motivated to look in my emails for our Agent's stuff and see if I can get the insurance change-over accomplished. I usually have to fill out applications for myself and DH and scan and send them back to him. Takes a little bit of time.

However, I got my study caught up this morning. When I don't do any of it over the weekend, I have 3 days to do on Monday. I got that done. I paid a bill online. But now for some reason I am very very sleepy. I stopped and had brunch, an egg and a piece of toast, so I don't know why I'm feeling like this, too tired to attempt that project right now. I'll set a timer and go lay down, then see if I can get it done. Time is running out, this needs to get done.

The brother celebrating his 50th was born 6 years after my mom died. My dad was left with 3 children under 15. My older brother died in 1968. My dad remarried in 1972 and younger brother was born in 1973. A very busy 6 years for my dad...

Just talked to dd. I was telling her that it is her uncle's 50th tomorrow, but he doesn't celebrate anymore, so no big party for him this year.

Dh and I are going out for burgers tonight.

Well, I should have just waited on your answer, Cathy! My figuring didn't allow for all the possibilities at all. Yes, what a number of sad events in such a short time for your family. I wonder if your dbrother realizes how VERY YOUNG fifty is. I noticed the names of your kitties, such good choices.

3 loads of laundry and all done through to folded or drip drying. Masks hung up on the back of the bathroom door where we have a metal 6-prong hanger - for some reason, they look so amusing to me. I wash these little things in a net lingerie bag so I don't lose them, and their loops don't catch on anything. When I hang them, I plump them out as though wrapped around a face - not flat. Maybe that's why I get sort of tickled with fussing over them.

Also amusing - Dove's dh's addition to the painting.

Healthy brunch was eaten.

blessed, I mentioned missing you yesterday - had completely forgotten that ya'll had a big event over the weekend.

Elizabeth pops to mind thinking of kitties, of costumes/party, and remembering the "something you don't know about me" thread Twins' posted. I remember the time that, with Elizabeth, the answer was, "I'm a belly dancer."

As if on cue, there is a cat placing a paw on my arm. Oh yes, he's right, it's that time.

The kitchen counter is cleared of cards. It has been a good day. The 3x5 cards reminding everyone are a success.

DS15 is learning firsthand how quickly things can happen. He is a passenger in a vehicle driven by his 17 year old DFriend. The boys went to the city to pick up a load of construction supplies from HD. A block after they left HD his DFriend took his eyes off the road while adjusting the radio and didn't respond quick enough for vehicle stopping for the light turning red. DFriend vehicle hit the vehicle in front of him. No one was hurt but the ambulance did come to the accident scene and checked all the people in both vehicles. The other vehicle had the back window knocked out. DS15 thinks his friend pickup is okay and drivable. The police & fire department on the scene of accident are keeping both boys inside their vehicle. DS15 is sending me pictures. DFriends parents are enroute to the city where the accident happened. I'm thankful this will be an unfortunate memory instead of a disaster. It could have been so much worse.

We spent 30 minutes on conference call with DSon and DDIL wishing her a happy birthday. They told of their weekend hosting their very first horse competition. They begged us to come visit them. DDIL said that is all she wanted for her birthday....for us to come visit them. I need to make that happen.

Harriet, I'm curious to know how your resident cat-boss likes his new bathroom?

LadyM, such a wonderful miracle that no one was hurt. Life lessons for sure.

I don't know why I was so tired earlier. I was also cold. Curled up under sheet and afghan and set the timer. Reset it 2 more times before I got up. I really slept hard. DH used to tell me doing any kind of figuring or paperwork would wipe out all his energy. I continued on with my insurance work. I had figured this out once, but was unsure of myself and looked into it again. I have pages and pages of notes and figures and I come to the same conclusion. So I went looking for emails from the agent to proceed. None to be found.

DH and I laugh at each time I begin a sentence with "Do you remember...." because we both know the answer is always nooo, and we're back at square 1 again. I looked in DH emails and found 2 that I'd printed out, and 2 I never got or had deleted by accident. They were the ones I needed. An extra step for each of us now that didn't exist before. I have a page of instructions and must make 2 phone calls tomorrow during business hours and get 2 confirmation numbers which I tell the agent. Then we can proceed with the applications. Sigh.... so tomorrow, I'm back at it again.

My rash got worse again.

DH pulled out the loquat tree that toppled over during the hurricane. He dug the hole and propped it back up in there but we were unable to get those roots very far down into the ground. For a tree this size, it didn't have many big roots to begin with. This tree sprouted tiny sprouts, small twiggy branches all up and down the trunk which was sizable in diameter. But nothing substantial to support it in the ground. I had been looking at it last week thinking that our next storm would knock it down for sure. He came to that conclusion (it took a year for that) that the tree wasn't safe any more. So it is cut up now for county to pick up and I have a bare spot in the front yard with a nice roundel of concrete edging around it. I think he would like it if I put another flower garden in there and I agree that would be pretty, but so much more work! I'm thinking maybe flowering bushes of a small size but not all the little flowers that make so much work.

DH also trimmed the oak tree that is on the property line between us and the empty lot next door. A big limb had grown up and over toward our house, also not safe.

Now, we just need to have a plan for the 3 palm trees that have grown too tall, 1 leaning toward the house and 1 straight. Right in the middle of our front yard, very pretty and southern looking. I will miss them. 1 we could keep possibly but the other 2 need something done to them. I had no idea they'd grow like this so quickly.

Ok, I hope I can relax tonight. It's been a trying day.

I started out typing this around 3:00 pm -- multiple interruptions -- BUT --

I actually have been motivated today! I know; y'all are shocked!
The day started with getting dgrands dressed and out the door to take them to school. This was fairly simply, except dgd, when I tried to help her with her psoriasis scalp oil and ointment, made a big deal about being able to do it herself. Then, on the second ear, another round of fussing about why did I make her do EVERYTHING. :? I don't know what on earth brought all that about.

After I dropped them off, I drove to the transmission place, because they were not answering their phone. They didn't have their entrance gate opened, either. I then treated myself to an Egg McMuffin, which I have been craving for a while, and came home. Started a load of laundry. Went back to bed.
Transmission man called, which surprised me, because I had not left a message (he had no voice mail set up), but he would be happy to take care of us and would get the SUV back by middle of next week.
That didn't really suit dh, because he is still hoping to go to College Town this weekend. Told the man we needed it sooner, but we might be calling him back.
Tried my cousin, aunt, and a dfriend who's brother runs a shop with a good reputation in nearby community (friend to my cousins). Finally got his number, but then decided to just take it to the first man.
Took it -- home -- back to bed.
Cousin called -- talked to him awhile -- back to bed   (I know, ANY sane person would have given up by now...)
DS called. GOT UP.

HOUR ONE -- with apologies to LadyM :D -- on phone w/ds, ate second breakfast
HOUR TWO -- self-care -- shower, wash hair, shaved, did facial mask
HOUR THREE -- began to lose track of time, but at this point...
laundry, stripped bed, sheets in washer, (now in dryer), cleaned bathrooms, dusted bedroom,
Called dmom
Dmom asked if she could call me "right back"
Started to post here
DS called, coming over to get dgrands' phones, etc
He arrived
Dmom called back, said for me to call her when they left
Called dmom
HOUR SOMETHING -- talked to dmom...
During this call, dbil called
Called him back, left message
Dbil called back
Discussed condo, insurance, Servpro situation, ballgame tickets. Dbil asked me to call insurance company tomorrow for clarification
Returned text to pest control lady who is coming tomorrow
Went to eat supper
Dmom called again -- could I possibly come out tomorrow and help her get her fall decorations out on her porch?
-- of course -- but it will have to be after the bug lady leaves and I talk to the insurance people
Started 2nd load of laundry
Dusted dgrands' bedroom (30 minute job, and of course there are stones left unturned)
DH said I had email from church member requesting change of address (thought I had already done this)
Decided to finish the one document that I needed to email to council members
Typed that, emailed, typed my own roster for coming year...
and here I sit.
WHEW.

MUST get sheets back on bed, and I really hope to vacuum master bed/bath, so tomorrow I can do the public areas of the house and maybe dgrands room before bug lady arrives.

So glad no one was injured, LadyM! (((HUGS))) I hated getting those calls that start, "We're okay, BUT..."

(((Harmony))) I am so sorry about your rash. And ugh, you are right about psoriasis... dgd's scalp looks awful! Fortunately it is all ON her scalp and her hair covers it up. I sure do hope she outgrows this. I have heard of children outgrowing juvenile arthritis, and if she could get off the meds she takes for that, I think this would probably clear up. She just has no immune system at all.

Yes, LOL at Dove's shark! Vacuuming in small doses is something I have to do now, too.

That IS a LOT, Cathy. Something most of us don't know about others is all the hard times they have experienced. (((HUGS)))

So glad the wedding was so nice, blessed!

Can't cuop all the way through -- just know I m thinking of you ALL!!!
Tomorrow is another day.
