WE Get it Done: Wednesday PWYC

What is that you'll get done today? WE can make it happen, all of us pulling for each other and working together! Let's go, sweet little village!

I trimmed all the dead bits off of the inside plants. I also watered all of them, as some were quite dry.
I also loaded the back of the pick up truck with stuff for the landfill. Plus I moved one of the benches, which was almost too heavy for me, but I got it done. Plus I moved the middle sized glass table.

Dh is doing some weed whacking and leaf blowing. He said he's going to use the mower to mulch the leaves in the back yard. One of our maple trees decided to drop most of her leaves over the past 24 hours.

We are having steak for supper. Dh will have a yam.

hello everyone!!!

thank you d twins for a nice start! hello!
hello d cathy!

I ended up sick for the whole day - at first I could kick myself that I did not work outdoors on a beautiful day but I just couldn't do it! dd younger stopped over at mom's last night on her way home from visiting her cousin and her sweet daughter. She made sure d mom ate. Mom had a wonderful day just cleaning and decluttering her apartment - she is a minimal homemaker and I laugh that she has anything to toss.

I have to admit I will have to figure out something if she stays here permanently (they are talking next year). I need to find balance with my home. I haven't worked in the yard since October 1rst.

dh has an appointment, about an hour away, to hopefully get his feeding tube out. I am praying that he can have that done.

Twins - Thank you for the start today. I love being part of this village.

I continue with my focus for one hour at a time. I don't feel overwhelmed, stressed or behind when I am just thinking about what I want or need to do between now and the next TOTH.

I am continuing to use 3x5 cards laid out on the kitchen bar. I am purposely NOT creating a whole SHE card file with everything included because I can't handle that. What is working for me is each morning I lay out a row of 3x5 cards that are time dependent. The cards are laid out with the earliest event at the top of the row and moving on to the last event of the day. I have another row of cards that have OMM items with the highest priority on the top of the row of cards and the rest of the row of cards with lower priority are lower in line waiting their turn. Both of the kids have their own color of cards. I chose neon pink for DD12 and neon orange for DS15. There isn't any significance in the color other than what I had on hand. They are responding well to checking for their color of card and doing whatever the card says. They like knowing what they need to do and choosing to get it done so they can have the rest of the time to do what they want. I don't have a color card for DH or myself. I might do that in the future but for now everything is just on white 3x5 cards. I am trying to keep it as simple as possible. I do see DH at the kitchen bar reading the cards and he tells me when he has accomplished one of them. As things are accomplished I remove the card from the kitchen bar and put it in a different room.

We are out of the house 8 times today. 7:30, 8:45, 10:30, 12:45, 3:30, 4:45, 5:15, and 6:30 are times that have events taking us out of the house today, Having the cards let me come and go without losing track of where I am in my effort to get things done.

Morning…

Busy day here…did yard work while it was cool. Then Sweetie said he had called the junk men and they were on their way. Gathered stuff in the garage for them to take including pa ers and flooring plus some other things we needed to get rid of. The community is having a garage sale next week so now I have room to tag and get things ready to sell.

Taking a break with my protein shake and then will move on to my closet. I have a pile of clothes that need to be boxed and stored.

I quite taking my medicine that is suppose to help with migraines. I have been living with brain fog and total exhaustion for almost three weeks and I am done! Today is the first day I’ve felt even close to my normal self. Hopefully I will get my sleeping pattern back as well.

LadyM… a while back I had a fender bender. An elderly woman crossed four lanes of traffic and hit the front of my driver side. We were both going the same direction. I saw her coming at me but there was little I could do to get out of the way. It took a long time for me to get over it. While driving I would flinch if I saw a car coming at me from the left side of my car. Think it’s just a normal thing our brain does. My friends wife just had an accident where she was t-boned. She was hurt and had to have many stitches in her left arm. Happened mid-July and her husband has been driving her on her errands cause she’s afraid to drive. Told me she had a hair appointment today and she is planing to drive herself there for the first time since the accident

people keep a wreck on their minds much longer than they want to
So, he can consider himself normal.
It's hard to shake it off.
It took a long time for me to get over it.
it’s just a normal thing our brain does.
Thank you for sharing your experience and wisdom. It was very helpful.

I'm taking a break with my feet up while drinking a glass of tea.

hello again - time to pick up mom to bring here. She was stoic this am and said she could stay at her apartment all day again - it's not good for her loneliness and then her dementia. I wish I had a place he would stay here but she wouldn't like it.

dh did some dishes and put away.
I did some left to right straightening.

what I am looking at that I haven't had in a long long time: mount wash more. how did that happen so fast?!
time to s2s and pick up d mom.
it is always a joy to be here with you!

I jumped in and managed (finally) to do three checks for HOA association. There's the big one for the excavating and backfilling a few weeks back, but it hasn't made its way to me yet. Apparently, it was dropped off next door to the old treasurer. She's going to get it to me, but I'll let it go another week since I need to pay other bills. Outgoing bills, including one of mine, are in mailbox.

Dh took out the recycling last night but I took more out and filled the bin up to the top. Better to have it out of the house! Saved out a cardboard box for Goodwill stuff too. I've washed, dried, and put away a load of laundry, and our towels, which will be hung back up, are in the dryer. I should also strip the upstairs bed today and wash those sheets. The dcleaning lady may come tomorrow or Monday, not sure when yet, but she can make that bed back up for me.

We yet another social occasion tomorrow night. I think this will be the third time eating out in the last week. :?

I'm heading upstairs soon to work on the Q revisions. I'm within striking distance of finishing.

Went with HRH to have the car nearly detailed. Not detailed, no, but every possible thing Auto Bell carwash people will do, plus he gave the boys at the beginning of the interior-cleaning a ten-dollar bill before they started. In our house, that is some serious "detailing".

I was disappointed to find that they have changed policy and you MUST ride in the car through the carwash. I seldom use their services, but have always been impressed with the feeling of full service - getting to go sit down, or use the restroom, or buy a snack from vending while waiting. Now it's just a really long gas station wash to me, and seems a bit treacherous. HRH said he bet an exiting car had hit something or been hit by the car behind before an attendant could get there, and they couldn't afford the insurance anymore to leave cars driverless.

Then we decided to go grocery shopping "for a few things" before going home. We spend 160 dollars. :| This has to do with our decision-making more than high costs. It's so easy to turn a shopping trip into a big deal.

My own decision to have a "homemade" Trick or Treat spread this year is going to be a lot more expensive than just buying whatever the chocolate candy company puts in a bag.
