I hit an overwhelmed moment but need get myself simplified and figure out the panic I am feeling.

what am I looking at: a family room that is in chaos
a garden that needs bulbs planted
laundry laundry laundry
home blessing
mom is here - what will I do for her.
dinner I might make early.

((((Blessed)))) Use whatever method works for you. Being overwhelmed is a normal part of life (IMHO) and we need systems in place to use when those overwhelming moments happen.

DH doesn't wear a CGM. The doctor has ordered it twice, but it is turned down by Medicare and/or BCBS insurance. I have never investigated why it is not being approved because DH is not thrilled with the thought of using CGM. He is happy with doing finger pick testing. He just got recent blood work done and his A1C was 5.5 so his diabetes is good most of the time.

Today is clean the bathroom vanities day. I have cleaned mine & will soon do DH bathroom. I added kid cards for them to clean the vanity in each of their bathrooms. I put the cleaning supplies out that I want them to use. #LifeSkills

When I pick DD12 up from school this afternoon we will head to the city. We will eat out at her favorite place, do a little shopping (30 minutes or so) and then DD12 has appt with her counselor. They have been working to put names to emotions. It isn't as easy as it looks. If I remember right, they are examining 72 words that describe emotions and putting them into categories. Part of that process is discussing measured respond to the different emotions. I am enjoying watching DD12 come out of her shell but there are also challenges to the process. I recently told her "You have amazing language skills. I expect you to use those skills to find different words to use. I do not want to hear su*k and fu*k used in conversation again." #MyHomeMyRules

I have de-seeded the squash mixed up the meat loaf stuffed part of it that needed stuffed.
And it is in the oven. A separate pan of other meat loaf for other dishes is in the oven as well.
One more to do that will not fit.
That is for another day.
Washed up the dishes.
Walked the ddoggo around the block a short walk for her but it started to rain and I am not used to this cold weather we're having yet.
Got the squash ready to go in the freezer it is cooling now.
I did up my dishes and got them put away.

blessed, I am so happy for your dh and for your whole household. A wonderful health milestone.

Dd43 called and wants me to ride with her to library. I'll pick up prescription at pharmacy while we're out - this will be last time at this pharmacy, recommended by insurance guy as he looked at my one and only script and wanted to save me a few dollars. This pharmacy is simply awful on customer service and I just don't need the hassle. It's much more convenient to go where HRH goes.

I can't think of any books I particularly want to check out, but will look at the new release shelves.

LadyM, an ADULT child of ours used sh*t in a sentence the other day and HRH and I both said, from different sides of the room in unison, "Don't say those words!" Lol - can't say we aren't consistent, since we carry it forward decades. As you say, language skills are high. There's no reason to make room for low words.

d harriet - thank you! it is a big moment and I am just taking this moment to live in it. He still hasn't gotten the stents for his heart - I doubt he ever will unless there is an emergency. now the time to be grateful for the moment we are in.

d lady - I agree with you - it is normal - I am trying hard to pull the panic back.

I gave mom an art project that I was going to work with her on but she has taken it on. Her mind is busy as are her hands as she is figuring out the measurements for the nativity painting we will be putting on the front bay window this year for Chritmas- a stained glass type look. She used to paint fake stained glass on windows in the hall going up the stairs - stunning piece of art. She didn't have the cash for a real stained glass at the time and she loved stained glass look. She is an amazing artist.

I fed her lunch - she was so so about it but now she is happily working on the project.
dishes are rinsed, I have to make dinner bc I can't eat another dinner out.
next separate laundry and start.

I will say it's rare for swearing here too. I rarely rarely rarely say the s word (my mother would say it every so often), I will say it in French, if no one is around, but every so often I will say "Son of a beeswax" - literally -" son of a beeswax" not the bad one but dd's always say that "Mom, it doesn't look good on you!!!" .

hello d everyone. I had to help d mom with the measurements for the front window. She is doing an outline of the picture she is trying to draw.

okay time to bring food down to the freezer and then make dinner. I am tired.
I am behind on everything.

bw2, that is a milestone for your dh! Congrats all around.

Good workout. I kept saying that I was huffing and puffing today and I was, but dtrainer remarked that I used to huff and puff at easy things, now I huff and puff at hard things. So I do think I'm making progress.

Just got word that dh is heading here so I need to clean up....also walk the dog!

As usual, something wrong at pharmacy and my script wasn't ready. They communicate so poorly. Dd43 felt sorry for me.

They were having a book sale at the library (we didn't even know it). Dd bought a book for me for $5. It was the only one that had caught my eye - a 2019 nutrition hardcover that would have been a minimum of 20 otherwise, so a good choice. I was a little put off because some of the reviewers were celebrities, but there were also some who were scientists. We bought two others for her youngest for a dollar each and she got the ones she had on hold - that's it.

We picked up some takeout for the boys.

Back home, HRH had the potential storage building construction guy here. By the time we arrived, they had been sitting on the tailgate of our truck shooting the breeze for a while, and he certainly stayed at least another half-hour. His price is reasonable, and he makes a good impression. We'll see.

I've been brainstorming the sewing and it's a rough storm at the moment. At a point where, if I make cuts wrong now, it affects a lot. So slightly nerve wracking.

Folks were early-voting at the library. I need to remember that that might be helpful.

Harriet, I lost my early voting place. It used to be so easy for us to go to the library and vote. The hurricane took it away. Good luck with your quilt! Hey, your out building...how about a SHE SHED just for you!

Blessed, I'm so happy about your DH's medical progress. About the stent...I've been there with DH and it's a couple days of inconvenience and a quiet couple weeks of recovery. The alternative is having to get it done in the middle of a crisis which is very painful and stressful and can leave lasting damage. I know, you can tell him this, but it's up to him to accept it. And your DMom painting like that is really amazing. Maybe that's the answer to your not having time for your own work...getting her busy with something herself. Remember, this phase where she is able to do things could be temporary. And you're not alone...I'm overwhelmed too.

I finished this week's study. Then a stop at the bank to get my last business mileage check. No more of that to do. Up to the dentist to get my teeth cleaned. Ok experience. I always get some nice tips from the hygienist who is super nice. She told me where to get the toothpaste she recommends. Those whitening ones are hard on our enamel. I had been using one which is super bad. She clued me in where to find the other one... it's all based on the acid quality of the toothpaste. I did find it at 2 stores today.

3 stops later and a load of groceries, including an easy fast dinner to make and I came home. Phew that was a lot to do. Nice to have that all done for the week.
