Yesterday I had a headache and slept deep for most of the day. I was forced to acknowledge it instead of being depressed by not getting thing done. I think it was a good way of looking at it bc it helped me to be positive today.

today I have to drive dd younger to the airport for her mini vacation visiting a dear friend in North Carolina. First vacation in 4 years.

oh mom was cranky yesterday!!! Mostly her ire was towards dd younger bc she is going to North Carolina to visit a dear friend. mom to everyone "she doesn't need a vacation - She has Florida - she is just not grateful"- not realizing that mom's needs are met by dd younger in Florida. Mom always gets this way when her feeling of security is at question "for her". She was cranky for 2 days with me. DD older said she sees this every time mom feels insecure that she won't have anyone "in her mind" to take care of her.
Oh my what an adventure it has been the last couple days. ;) For someone that can be so cute she can be so feisty!

I "need" to stay home and work after I take dd younger to the airport- dd younger had mom all afternoon and evening yesterday and dd older and dd younger took her for dinner.
Today will be a --- "surprise" day of work. I am a little worried about caring for dd Youngers malinois - High high high energy that needs direction everyday.
If you could say a prayer that he stays chill.

(((Blessed))) Hope you feel better today. You have a lot going on in your life. Arent the Malinois dog breed what the Navy Seals use because of their quick learning, high energy and desire to work? Maybe I'm confusing it with a different dog breed.

I put a forced smile on my face and went to the gym. I DID NOT WANT TO do it but afterwards I experienced the happiness and feeling of accomplishment that will stay with me the rest of the day.

Harmony remains in my thoughts and prayers several times a day. I think of her battling through rehab to recover. Norma too!

The weekly bathroom cleaning cards for DD12 were a struggle for her last week. This week I only had to answer and show DD12 a couple things she wasn't sure of. I expect next week she will be able to do it well without any help from me. #BuildingLifeSkills

Lunch was chicken salads sandwiches, chips and banana bread. All the food was made by a local business.

We have a couple birthday parties to attend in the city later today. I'm not thrilled about going to these parties but will attend to prevent hurt feelings.

CI~ 39* F and frosty out this morning. I slept in till nearly seven. BS was ack / omg! Fight a bug having stress etc.
I have done some journals most morning writing done. I have the tea kettle on. (_)P

Darks are in the dryer I saved that for today to help with the no heat situation could without heat till Mon.
When dryer is done I will bake more bread in bundt pan to freeze up, oven will help heat upstairs.

Running one portable heater at a time in what ever area or room I am in.
Except the basement did not need it.
I did some writing in the basement for a while and watched one of my qt searmons.

High school coach next door for the next small town over is playing state championship, moving the game b/c of the heat natural gas situation I suspect.

Some good news ...
Yesterday One new heating co. gave out heaters to folks and they are loaners.
Relighting happening in the town some family members are in.

Crews are working 24-7 to get it back up and going praying for them excellent entry for my prayer pages.
Have on a pretty teal blue hoodie & purple sweats today not the royal blue one.
Mail came late last night.

Put on thermals today more good news I did not freeze to death overnight! LOL!
My meal plan next up.

I finally finished my Monday chore of tidying and dusting. Phew!

I'm dressed and ate breakfast.

I've also done a load of laundry.

But mostly, I tidied and finished the dusting.

Tidying has the ability to take me far off task. For instance, when putting away the duster and buckets (they were out and filled with water because of not having water yesterday which, it turned out, we never lost because the city never showed up to turn off the complex's water and do some repair) I thought of a way to rearrange the broom closet to reduce the chance of things falling over and hitting me when I open the door or put away the vacuum. So I went on a tangent of getting that done and by coincidence, tidying up the floor dusting pad (it sits on a Swiffer but was in the load of laundry I did) I decided I had to redesign that as well so that it will fit firmly (the pad isn't designed to work with a Swiffer.) So those were two tangents in one cupboard!

Now I'm exhausted and debating picking a 15 minute task and then taking a nap.

Nancy: your stress from lack of heat will be adding to your blood sugar issues. I'm glad you are coming up with lots of 'heating' chores. Putting on a pot of water or better yet, soup, to simmer on the stove will also help keep that room warm.

Hmmm — Kathryn — what is the difference between a Chromebook and a laptop computer?
I need to access the Internet
AND I want to do word files I can print and transfer back and forth to desktop computer.
Considering a refurbished HP Chromebook… but also considering just continuing on as I am. I probably don’t need an excuse to spend more time on the computer/phone/etc.
Tomorrow is another day.

DD12 virtual school assigned for today is memorizing 13 elements of the Periodic Table. She has said them to me twice and is confident she has them memorized.

I am staying up with my hourly step goal today. I have successfully completed the first 5 of 14.

I installed twitter app on DH phone for him. He typically gets his news from mainstream TV cable news channels. I mentioned something that happened in the world, and DH didn't know anything about it. It can be a challenge to learn the truth of what is happening when information is blocked and/or reframed by people/organizations.

Lenovo laptops are my preference also. Lenovo laptops remind me of the old Timex ad - They take a licking and keep on ticking.

Our public school uses chrome books. All their work and documents are done online. I think of chrome books like using a big android phone. It works very well if it fits your needs.

I've had a productive afternoon. I have finished (for better or worse?) the revisions for the Q and they got emailed off (also for better or worse, right or wrong). Then I worked for a little while on a proof argument - something I really wanted to work on. So that's positive. Hopefully, being at a stopping place with the Q - for awhile at least - will allow me to feel more productive.

I am heading downstairs. Need to s2s and get ready for company around 6 for dinner. Dh is grilling, I'm roasting brussel sprouts, and she's bringing squash casserole and challah.

I'm enjoying a slow and steady pace of alternating between being productive and taking some time to play.

Each hour I choose 3 cards as my primary focus and then once they are completed, I use the rest of the hour to play. This hour my 3 cards are -
** Plan history lessons for next week. Put the daily history assignments on DS15 calendar.
** Make deviled eggs. I use the double stack egg cooker so I can hard boil 14 eggs at a time. Having deviled eggs in the refrigerator makes a quick snack. They usually only last a couple days.
** Dust living room.

DH and I discussed again the dynamics of the birthday parties. Using a pro/con list the con side is overwhelming winner. The parties are being held at night in a high crime part of the city. We made the joint decision to not take the kids to that location at night. We called and sang happy birthday on their answering machine and then texted to let them know we won't be attending. Both of the kids are happy about our decision.

LucyL. I have a crome-book have done the start over thing with it.
They are only good for about 5 years from what I understand.
I have access to internet on mine and use google chrome and google for files and to my mail.
i am sure you could talk with teacher friends if you need help.
I strongly encourage you to get one and do not continue as you do fighting over a pc with your hubby is not okay when
you have letters for church or what ever to type up.

-----
Checking in Mon. / Tues. is the time frame for getting my heat back on. Kinda sad but not surprised they put up the plan for their schedule.
I have rolls in the oven rising in the oven to turn on to bake in a bit.

Laundry is folded and some is put away.
I have clean sox again.
Talked with dd a long time this afternoon.
I have picked up various rooms here the house looks okay.
