DH ordination went without a hitch.

I tested DD12 again tonight and she is still showing negative for covid. DS15 & DD12 have the same symptoms but only one of them is testing positive. DD12 has tested positive twice in the past couple of years but this is the first time DS15 has tested positive. It makes no sense to me. DD12 is more dramatic about her symptoms than DS15. He is fairly stoic and just wants it to be done so he can return to his normal doings.

Hi everyone. I have missed you. I realized I have not dropped in here for a while. My Sunday was seriously expensive! I arranged my Christmas travel. It was under budge, so it was ok. I put it off until I got my ID with my "new" (i.e. maiden) name. Other than that, I have been to the library, done LOLs but not put away. fed cats, workout, guitar practice, and arranged December pet sitting. I need a pet sitter for next weekend, but she is out of town. May be too late. I have a call out to a friend from church who does house cleaning. I think her kids have looked after DD's dog (who passed away last month).

My often unemployed friend called and was very down. She is substitute teaching through a temp agency. She got suspended a week for, in her words, she "tapped" a kid with a bookmark. Um, yeah, that would do it. Now she can't make December's rent. I reminded her that during this season retail jobs abound starting Black Friday. Probably not what she wanted to hear, but I know of no other solution. I have paid her to look after my cats before, maybe I should do that again. She will know I did not invite her camping with me, but the trip would not have worked with a teacher schedule.

Problem solved! DD called. Turns out she will be coming home the day I need her for pet sitting next weekend. College students always appreciate easy money and she could walk here from her dad's house. She probably won't because it's cold, but she may because the electrical system on her car requires long charging. It's 23, she is 21. She says her dad is planning to buy her a car when this one fails. I pay her the same rate I pay my normal pet sitter, it's only fair.

I need to get Halloween put away so I am not embarrassed.

Good evening!

Welcome back, Elizabeth!
Congratulations to LordM!

Today was something of a lazy Sunday, as we had gone to church last night to do the livestream (which was plagued with technical difficulties). DH was actually up and about earlier than usual, so I was, too, since I didn’t have to wait so long for the shower. I finished ordering groceries for pickup tomorrow, then went to visit my mom. Feeding her was a challenge today — she kept falling asleep. A friend asked how she was doing, and I said, “She breathes, and she takes nourishment.” That’s about it. :(

After the visit, I came home and watched the football game with DH. The weekly Zoom call typically hits around halftime, but no one was on this week. Our team pulled out a last-minute victory. The other team had the lead for over 59 minutes of game time. They scored about 40 seconds in, and they held the lead till our team scored with a handful of seconds to go.

Played a game with DH (he won) and fretted over not being able to reach DC. They spent the weekend with a friend and said they were going to come home for Sunday dinner, but as dinner time approached, we had still heard nothing. Ordered a little extra for them and finally heard from them when we were mostly done eating.

Was going to go to bed early, but DH turned on Jeopardy reruns, and I had to see who won the tournament. Tomorrow will be busy — nutritionist appointment in the morning, grocery pickup/put away in the afternoon, and book club in the evening. We’ve got a roast in the crockpot for shredded beef tomorrow.

I’m finally going to turn in. Good night, everybody!
