Managing Monday PWYC
Manage the day, don't let it manage you!
You're the one in control, hold firm, plan, always with a backup or two, and execute! Be proactive in being managed, not buffeted by Monday!

Re: Managing Monday PWYC
Hi!
My Monday started much earlier than I wanted it to. I could not get back to sleep after I got up at 4:30ish...
I got absolutely every dirty thing washed and dried yesterday. Laundry and dishes. All I had left to do was 2 "hand wash only" things and I've done them this morning.
Supper will be pasta and meat sauce. The meat is already defrosting in the fridge.
All government offices and banks are closed today because Remembrance Day was on a Saturday this year. I hope the library and the Seniors center are both open so I can go to both craft groups today.

Dishes never stop.
Laundry never stops.
Litter boxes never stop.
Paper never stops.

Twins - Thank you for opening the village and sharing wise encouraging words.
Our home and activities continue to be eliminated, postponed and cancelled because of kids sickness. Before the kids got sick our calendar had these activities for today
** DD12 public school
** DS15 homeschool
** DS15 lesson at music studio
** DH, DS15 and myself gym
** DD12 appt with therapist
** DH and DS15 setting up table/chairs for Wednesday Thanksgiving community meal (expecting 300)
Instead today's calendar has NOTHING on it.
DH and I continue to feel fine with no symptoms. I am thankful.
Cards for next hour -
** Personal AM care (shower, hair, teeth, face, etc)
** exceed hourly step goal

LadyM, you mentioned dd's appt with therapist over the weekend. Could she still do it over Zoom? My therapist continued offering Zoom options after things had started back up. It's really convenient and easy.

Tea kettle is on.
I am okay in flannel night gown & pj bottoms took off my hoodie.
Qt journaling done.
Planning underway.
bfast in a bit.
1-2 more days with out heat / no school day as well bc of the gas line problem.
I slept well.
I have dumped my trash.

Twins - Thank you for that idea. I hadn't thought of that option. I have already rescheduled DD12 appt to next Tuesday. Thankfully DD12 is not in crisis mode with her therapist appts but is being proactive in learning how to identify emotions and responses. We refer to Jana (therapist) as DD12 safety net.
I have a pot of beef & vegetable soup simmering on the stove. It smells & tastes wonderful IMHO.
Cards for this hour -
** Sudoku daily game
** Check mailbox @road and process all mail to completion
** Process all email received in the past 24 hours to completion
** exceed hourly steps
** My backpack - remove everything from all compartments. Organize, declutter and return things to correct spot.

Re: Managing Monday PWYC
Just got off the phone with my friend. Her granddaughter 6.75 texted her last night, "Hi Gammy, mommy got hit by a puck and is with paramedics and I'm with security." Then no responses to my friend's worried texts, mom's bleeding was finally staunched and arrangements made and she call back. It was serious, but not to the degree that she had to leave her daughter with strangers. What my friend wanted to share with amusement was that every word was spelled correctly in the text.
(Full story: Mom and daughter were at an NHL game, mom was hit by a puck, ended up at the hospital and has a concussion but is waiting to see how much worse it might end up being. Both her ex and her current boyfriend came to the stadium and ex took the child, boyfriend followed mom to hospital and stayed with her. While the adults were coming, the hockey players' wives took the child away to the store, bought her all kinds of things and promised when she was ready she could come back for a ride on the Zamboni. The child asked, "Will there be pucks?" which made everyone laugh but she's been assured there won't be.)
The kid was traumatized by all the blood and thought her mommy was going to die. Thankfully some woman seated nearby managed to scoop her up and comfort her while there was so much confusion over the mother but kid doesn't trust her other grandmother and father when they say mommy will be fine.
It was a long call with my friend but I worked at tidying and quiet chores while I talked on the phone. So my day is off to a reasonable start.

it's wonderful that your dd sees her therapist as her safety net. All those skills identifying and talking about feelings is such a wonderful skill to learn. it really helps!
waving to all of you!
it's a new day! wonderful!
I have to drive dh to dealership, stop by dh's dr.
then drop him off,
stop by moms, Get mom lunch and check her meds,
I want to come back to the house and work on my own.
make dinner - pick up mom to feed her
pick up dd younger at the airport at 6:50
come back here

Re: Managing Monday PWYC
Kathryn - That is a scary situation! Thankfully, there were kind people who took care of the little girl and her Mom.
I started my day with 54 cards to do. Most of them have been completed by focusing on completing 3-5 cards each hour and then I do something I consider a reward. I am still astonished how well the card system is working for this phase of my life. I'm not allowing myself to add any new cards unless I finish all my cards. I know myself well enough that I can easily overwhelm myself with good intentions. I have LOTS of ideas/projects/things I would like to add to my cards system, but I am making myself exercise patience while I learn to handle the existing cards before I add more.
I have the fire pit loaded and burning. I filled it with some big logs so it will be burning all day/night. Hopefully tomorrow or the next day I can spread the wood ashes in my garden. And then start the process again.
Both of the kids are feeling better. #Thankful
