Re: Victoria Day Monday
Thank you for the wonderful start Harriet!
The only thing I really need to tend to today is dishes. (What else is new?)
I cut the grass last night, so we could just enjoy being outside if that's what we want to do.
I finished all of the books in the living room and 1 of the 2 bookshelves of non fiction in the library. The shelf that is left has all of my cross stitch magazines, all of my SHE books, and related ones, like 2 of Marla's books and CEO's book, and (I think) 2 of Marie Kondo's books and some that go with it. There is also a really good book that I refer to at least once a year, just because it sees things from a different perspective. "Clean like a man". The author tends to spray stuff on and walk away from it to let it do it's job and go and do something else while the toilet cleaner is doing it's thing, etc. Maybe it's time to read it again. It's probably going to take me a while to do that particular bookshelf.
Supper tonight will be BBQed chicken pieces. (Drums and thighs) Easy peasy! Plus and easy peasy day.
Fireworks have been going off the past 2 nights around us. I'm sure tonight will be longer and louder. The cats don't seem to mind.

Re: Victoria Day Monday
Morning girls…
Lucylee… all that you have mentioned is just part of the grieving process, but you’re doing a great job!!!
I spent yesterday redoing my guest bedroom with some help from Sweetie.
I purchased an area rug and pad to go beneath it. This room is really and odd one, even Sweetie agrees and although it’s larger than 8x10, the furniture only fits in that space. Had to take the mattress and box spring off, remove what I had stashed under the bed, take the frame off the headboard and the reattached it twice to get it right, ironed the bed skirt, rehung some picture and then put everything back together again.
Once it was done, Sweetie kept walking back into the room and saying… oh the room looks so much better now.
I have another rug coming on Wednesday for my master bedroom so we get to repeat the process. Should be a bit more difficult cause I’ll be dealing with a king size no spring and mattress and this girl ain’t as strong as she use to be.
There is a smell coming from the guest room and I believe it’s from either the pad or the rug. I have fans going on in there at the moment. I do have an 8x10’ pad that will go in the master bedroom so I’ve decided to open it up today and let it air out in the lanai. I’m also going to pull out what’s under the bed there.
Sweetie says he believes there may be some wild animals living under there

Good MON. Morning Ladies!
I was up at a pretty good time this morning 1/2 later than some days.
Got to some well most of my QT & journals.

Did rounds 1 & 2 this morning after I had my coffee.
I'm to bagging up the weeds I had in cans and have about half of them delt with others need to dry a bit more.
It is good to free up those to be able to use em again now for the rest of the seeds.
I put the empty ones where I want em staged in strategic locations for later.
After trash day I can be rid of even more yea!
House is tolerable.

Another round of bagging up weeds & putting away empty containers yea! 2/3rds done with that.
Boiled up eggs to peel when they cool for egg salad sans.

Mow front yard x
Walk x
ZZZ nap x
Do dishes & put em away. x
-------

Re: Victoria Day Monday
I had decided to turn off the alarm and sleep in when dh asked me to get up to sign a document for him. So I did. After being so tired last night I was surprised that I didn't sleep well, and dog was up also, wanting out, and worried about something out there. Although I was worn out after being outside all afternoon, dneighbors were out enjoying the evening and dh and I went out to catch up with them for awhile before dark last night.
I've been "busy" but don't feel I've accomplished much. A.m. routine done except for s2s - may wait until tomorrow a.m. when I'll be out of the house for two appointments. I have an outdoor meeting at the pool at six today. I did two HOA checks and talked with plumber at pool who expects a check today when done. I'm going to sit for awhile with ice on my arm and read.

Re: Victoria Day Monday
Taking a much needed break.
Already have 9k steps so that should tell how hard I am working.
Too many tasked to mention. I asked Sweetie if we have room in our attic for a couple of large tubs.. he said yes so I am taking everything I had under my beds… blankets, quilts and extra bedspreads … so I can store them up there. I have enough jumbo space savers I can put them in so they will fit in the tubs.
Course my ADD had me wanting to head to WM to buy them, but I talked myself out of it. I need to finish around my house first… it looks like a bomb went off… I have all sorts of things scattered everywhere.
Sweetie said we can put our coolers up in the attic as well. We only use them when traveling or going to the beach. Same with all my holiday wreaths. That will help to clean out my laundry room.
I’m not fond of my house. Love it here but there are things I don’t like…took care of some of it by buying the rugs. I want to change my kitchen backsplash which is gray and nothing in my house is. The granite is brown, tan and black. All the houses in this phase have it, and it’s really difficult to work with. Anyway I decided if I took care of what I don’t like and make it work so I do, I’m sure my attitude will change.
Back to work…

Re: Victoria Day Monday
12k steps and still going!
I have 6 jumbo bags filled with things to go in the attic.
No wild animals, dead or alive were found under the bed, but good Lord my desert camels would have a feast to chump on!
Sort of done for the day… still need to pick up loose foot prints and hang a picture or two. I like doing that.
I have a dead-eye which is a blessing and a curse. I can find the middle of a wall or anywhere for that matter and might be off by a 1/4 of an inch … however it also means if things are lined up perfectly …rugs, picture, furniture it drives me crazy
When our desert house was being built and framed the large wall were my three large windows with three triangular windows above them plus my back door they were not square. Called the builder over and he said… looks good to me.
To which I said… get your 25’ measuring tape out and let’s see who’s right. M
They were off and he said not by much and it wouldn’t bother him. I said… you don’t have to look at them every day and the wall needs to be rebuilt. Course I was right.
Then he offered me a job. I found other places that were off and he never argues with me about redoing it. And I have several places in this home where the door frames are not the same night as the closet doors and they sit right next to each other… plus when they put the electrical connector in my guest bedroom wall they missed the center by 10”.
These things probably don’t bother anyone else, but you have a dead-eye it can drive a person crazy!!!

Happy holiday to our Canadians!
I should do some prep for the meeting tonight. I'm foregoing my shower until tomorrow a.m. It's such a pain right now.
WTG on those steps, RR!

Re: Victoria Day Monday
I started going through the "organizing" books. I opened the Marie Kondo one and started to read it. Then I had to go grab a pair of fuzzy grey pyjamas that I never really liked and they went into a donate bag. Of course I had to try on everything in that drawer. Then I had room from where the grey jammies were... you know how that goes.
