What's Going On for Your Thursday?

Post by lucylee »

WOW -- I'm first???
Believe me, I wouldn't be, except dgd was here and she had to get up for a doctor's appt. (Rheumatologist check-up)
So... I've eaten my regular breakfast of pb crackers... (out of bananas)
And I called dbil to check on football ticket order -- how many he needs for big rivalry game...
paid the yard man, told him about the snake...
and that's all.

I need to visit my colorist today... call AT&T... and balance bank statement.
Also need to call my dmom. And vacuum. That's 5x7.
Tomorrow is another day.

Hi LucyLee! Thank you for opening the village today!

I woke up just before the alarm went off. I had to get the compost and recycling out to the road. I also loaded some books and clothes into my car. I had a back seat and a trunk full! It's all been dropped off at a thrift store. I've also done a couple of other errands. Checked the post office to see if there was anything there for us. I'm waiting for a new credit card as the other one is expiring soon.

Supper will be breaded pork cutlets and whatever else I can figure out to go with them.
Dishes never stop.
Laundry never stops.
Litter boxes never stop.
Paper never stops.

It is National Creativity Day !!!

Waving / Wanted mention I was up later on purpose to adjust my sleep time to not so early and was pleased that
I slept in today and hour later than my regular time. Yea for success.
Working out my daily plan.
I have folded clothes and put them away.
breakfasted.
Dishes are current.
Thinking on my dinner plans now.

44* 66* today's temp. range.
Waving to everyone.

Thinking about my June plans.

We had walked done before ten working on doing this earlier for my summer schedule.
Did some gardening vol sunflowers came up in the driveway. So I pulled them out,
I was going to transplant em, they are in some water but the designated area is too hard so
I've watered it and will do that again today a few times & try this evening with shaded area to help.
The petunia I put in earlier this week has perked up yea! I am glad I got the plants out of the drive way so I do not have to worry
about them getting ran over by the neighbors!

I've moved fabric I had on the deck for some ideas of things, to air dry one large piece a bit maybe 10' feet long. apx. 3.33 yards
according to seri. I am guessing at this as it is about as long as the deck. It's tropical in print and not wide enough for
the table cloth I was thinking of. Not quite sure what to do with it but options are fun to think on.

So I brought the fabric back inside there is a prescribed burn that may effect air here.

Hydrating.

I'm late but finally made it. :)

I had one of my highest scores ever for sleep last night so the 7 hrs 44 minutes was well used. I am thankful to be able to lay down and almost instantly fall asleep.

DS15 had some drama at his work place this morning. I dropped DS15 off and just arrived back home when he called asking to be picked up. One of the adult workers has been calling DS15 unkind names for a while but when he started the name calling this morning DS15 let him know that he isn't going to listen to it anymore. There were some physical interactions but no blows. The crew chief told DS15 to either take the name calling or leave. DS15 chose to leave. DS15 stopped by and talked to the boss telling him what happened. The boss said he would talk to them about it. We don't know if DS15 will work there anymore. He already has another job lined up for tomorrow with a different employer.
What this means for me.....I have more kids in the house during the daytime hours. DS15 and a 16 year old friend is here cleaning his bedroom because it is raining. Once it stops raining I assume they will head back outside. DD13 disappears in her bedroom with door closed when boys are in the house which I am perfectly fine with.

I have an appointment for shaggy hair DS15 to get his hair cut, perm and styled this afternoon. The last time he agreed to getting his hair cut was in December. Pick your battles....This wasn't one that I picked I agreed to ignore his long wild hair as long as he kept it clean. I am happy to not have to ignore what I refer to as his homeless hair style.

I am uneasy about DH memory recovery process. This morning DH didn't remember where the butter was kept. It is the same place it has been since we moved here many years ago. He doesn't know where his clean clothes are hanging in the laundry area. I will show him later today and see if he can retain that memory. Yesterday DH was going on his first trip without me since the memory loss happened. He was going to the next town with DS15 which resulted in drama & DS15 being left on the side of a country road. DH returning home alone. DS15 called me when it happened so I went and picked DS15 up from the side of the road and brought him home.

I am craving some drama free days.

(((LadyM))): you deserve a drama-free week (asking for a month is unrealistic!)

I went to bed too late. Woke up too early because I was cold (and the blinds were rattling) and then dozed for 90 minutes. So not a really good night's sleep.

And I've been useless all day.

I put in the maintenance report forth the kitchen cupboards and counters sagging last night before bed.

I clean a little more of the kitchen this morning (just regular weekly stuff.)

I have started the laundry (washing the table cloths from yesterday) and have emptied out the wagon and put the rest of the things away.

I've ordered a different backsplash paper to work with the existing counter since the counter can't be covered. That's due tomorrow. I like the 'stainless' contact paper to cover the wood below my sink and am now testing the strips on both sides of the stove to see if I like those too (each time I walked into the kitchen and saw the tacked in place contact paper under the sink I was struck by how I liked it.)

I repaired a pewter desk clock from one of my favourite pewter companies that I had picked up in the stuff exchange. It was missing both a battery cover and a backing ring so I jury rigged that. I'll give it another hour or two to see if it is still keeping time or if the makeshift battery cover is getting looser with time and thus stopping the clock. I had moved it off dh's desk while I was dusting in there and this repair moved it off the kitchen counter!

I've texted with dd, confirming I'll be eating dinner at their place tomorrow. So tonight will be grilled cheese and soup, tomorrow dinner with dd's family (and then over to the fun fair), Saturday night is the BBQ here (I should buy a skewer of something to eat along with a salad and maybe french bread), and Sunday night I'll have pizza from the freezer.

Looking around the living room I see I need to pull apart and reassemble the entertainment system, it stopped working after I dusted. It puts an error message on the screen and won't work until I plug in the audio but everything seems to be plugged in so I'm doing the classic "turn it off, and turn it on after reseating all the cable" fix. Dh usually just sticks his arm back there and does something unseen that fixes it. I had to pull out the receiver to see what the TV screen is illustrating and I still can't see the correct bit. On the other hand, I just googled the produce and found a picture of the back, clearly showing what's what (something the manual was missing for some reason.)

That might end up being my big accomplishment of the day, assuming of course, I actually get it working!

But first I shall go get dressed. It is almost 2 p.m. so obviously past time!

Coming up on 4:30 and I'm dressed, had breakfast, put away the clothes from the drying rack and tidied my bedroom. Also pulled out my summer t-shirts and put away some winter long-sleeve shirts.

In the living room, I figured out what was wrong with entertainment system. It was a loose cable at the speaker end, not the receiver end. Luckily, I figured that out before pulling everything apart. The internet can be great, and it allowed me to pull up the installation manual and I realized that Step One was likely where the problem was. Pure luck.

Now I can listen to music or watch TV again. Phew!

The table cloths are folded and put away now.

I think I'll do a run around the apartment and address a few more things out of place (I note the signs from last Thursday's Stuff Swap are still out, as an example, as well as my preaching Bible from Sunday.

Im sitting and waiting for DS15 to finish hair cut/perm/style.

We picked up DS15 girlfriend on our way here. She will come stay at our house for couple hours when we get done here.

On a whim i bought the Pioneer Women cookbook 50 dinners for DD13 to use. I decided menu planning, ingredient buying, and cooking is a life skill that DD13 will practice this summer. She is looking forward to doing this. DD13 selected a recipe and we went to store to buy ingredients. When we get home she will start cooking.

I already made meatballs and spaghetti for tonight's meal.

Once we got home no one was hungry so we decided DD13 would wait until tomorrow to cook. DD13 picked a PW recipe called "Garlic Butter Bath Biscuits" to make.
