Have slept ok but snuffly and sneezy, lip is okay looks like a cold sore now but does not hurt as
much as the last cold sore.

Good Morning!

My day is off to a great start. 8 hours of great sleep. Everyone is healthy and there is no drama.
I missed getting one of my hourly steps goals already because I didn't pay attention. #SmallFrustration

Breakfast was leftovers = a BBQ Chicken wrap with cucumber

We went to small groups study at church this morning and then came home. DH is still not mentally ready to be ON for more than an hour. It gave him a headache, so we excused ourselves and came home. We can watch the worship service online.

We are out of big dog food. DH is the one who feeds them and didn't put it on the Buy This list when our supply became low. Typically, we keep one full bag of dog food on hand. When we open our last bag then we purchase another bag to have ready when the other bag is empty. ANYWAY, we are in emergency type status with no big dog food on hand. This is just one of the many ways that DH isn't thinking like he used to. He is doing okay mentally but just not the same as he was before the memory loss episode happened 2 weeks ago. We will make a trip to the city this afternoon to purchase a couple 50lb bags to get that item restocked. But first we need to wait a couple hours to let the main part of the thunderstorm pass over us.

Normally my sleep tracker shows me getting light sleep when I really listening to a podcast. Last night, it said I was up for 20 minutes in the night. I'm pretty sure I wasn't. If that shows up again, I'll set a 'sleep walking' trap but I think I was either listening to a podcast or fitfully sleeping at that time. Anyway, I got just under 7 hours according to the tracker and I woke on my own at 5:50.

With the days so bright now, it wasn't hard to get off by 6:45 (in the winter it is really hard!) and I had a good time at the airfield with ds and dgs. We didn't go on a ride, I didn't realize the slots fill up quickly and by the time we finished breakfast, we'd have a 2 hour wait and I knew dgs wouldn't last that long. As it was, we left after 2 hours and he was pretty whiny because we took him away from the the 4x4 he'd been playing in.

I had a video visit with my nephew and his wife in Cyprus (that's who dh is visiting right now.) It was good to see them both looking so well.

Next up, I'm going to install the last sections of contact paper in the kitchen. I have the stove pulled out, have cleaned the walls, removed the electrical outlet cover, and measured. Two kinds are going up, the metallic to cover the wood from the counter to the floor beside the stove, and the backsplash under the cupboards.

Back from church the market & an estate sale got yarn mostly.

We picked up DD13 best friend and took her with us. The girls sat in Sam's cafe area talking and eating while DH and I shopped. We dropped the friend back at her home on our way back.

We received over 2" of rain in about an hour. The skies continue to be dark & cloudy. I am missing the sunshine. It makes a HUGE difference in my energy level.

Hi!

I spent my morning clearing all the cat litter boxes and sweeping/mopping floors, emptying garbage cans and the compost bin, etc. Dd showed up with her car on a flat bed tow truck. I thought she had been in an accident. She had said she would be here around 11. She just had a very flat tire. That's why she texted yesterday and asked to bring her car for her tire change over today. We sure weren't expecting the tow truck! Dd has CAA and it covers getting towed within a certain number of kilometers. Turns out we are 99 KM away from her condo in High Park so well within range. Dd and dh discussed her needing new winters for this fall.

While dh was working on her car, we had a long talk. To be honest, it was mostly me talking. I think I complained about dh for close to an hour. I can pour my heart out to her, and I did. When dh was finished, we went outside and sat at the patio table with him for a while and then dd invited us to join her for lunch at a local diner. Dh didn't want to go. I spent most of our time there complaining even more. I even talked about the future and what I see happening. She must have been so happy to get into her car and drive away. I just was not good company today I don't think.


Came home and made a meat sauce and dh choose what kind of pasta he wanted. I want to try to eat less pasta over the next month to see if I can get by with making it less and wait to see if he notices.

It rained on and off here all day. I did NOT have a nap today because it messes with my sleep at night.

Better now. Dgs came back home with me after supper.
Got all my Sunday stuff done, quick trip to grocery store.

Weather is HUGE for us right now, Nancy, because of the outdoor wedding. Staring at the long-range forecasts with an eye toward Saturday afternoon. Right now, it appears that Saturday will not only be clear, but the 2 days before and the 2 days afterward are also forecasted to be clear. That is good news for the hopes and dreams around here. I figure that even if the forecast is off, it won't be THAT off. Somehow, the wedding is bound to fit into the clear time.

And also, Saturday will have the coolest night of the week right before, on Friday night, then have the lowest temp of the week through the day. Yes, that temp will be 81 ( ) , but maybe, since 2 days before that the high will have been 88 , the day will not be considered notably hot. Now humidity ... .. um, possibly not great news, but you can't have everything.

Right now, as I type, a big downpour has been happening. And rain's coming again, on Wednesday. So, likely humid, yes.

lucylee, I was weepy at church for years after my late husband's death. Still was after marrying HRH. Something about church, the music.

Cathy, I know it worried you to see that flatbed! Thank goodness there was a logical explanation.

I fear that I did not wish LadyM's dd a happy birthday - I remember meaning to, but don't seem to have gotten that posted!

Sleep tracker chat - I very often argue with mine. Sometimes I figure out why we are disagreeing, but sometimes I just know I'm right.

Today I have made the quilt sleeve and just barely have gotten started attaching it. I can't figure out how to turn to get light on the subject. Maybe it will come to me if I sleep on it.

Good evening! Good to see that bittersweet has been here!

(((lucylee))) I can’t imagine how hard it must be when ordinary days aren’t ordinary any more.

I don’t think I’ve posted since we got back from Toronto. It was a good trip. We missed most of the rain on the way up, although we hit a downpour on the way back home. DH’s aunt is quite frail, but she has good caregivers, and DH’s cousin and her husband are saints! It was a lovely dinner, and then we went to church with her the next morning.

Spent Memorial Day playing games with friends. The rest of the week was nothing much. I’ve got a bunch of work, but my personal stuff has all been falling by the wayside. I’d write more, but it’s getting late. Sweet dreams, all!

P.S. Harriet reminds me that while I’ve been peeking in, I don’t think I posted a Happy Birthday to LadyM’s brand-new teenager!
