Well, I’m back at the pool with dgrands. I guess my “goal” is to take them at least once a week.
I woke up with some stomach distress so I have only eaten a banana and about half a Diet Coke. Had Imodium and peppermint oil capsules— supposedly good for digestive health.
Before I got the kids, I accomplished a few to-dos:
— ordered dmom shoes and socks from Am*zon
— checked tickets on seat geek — all Atlanta stuff is sold. I’m only getting about half the cost back, compared to what dh bought all these tickets for, but since that money was gone a couple months before dh passed, this is kinda a bonus.
— bought car/truck tags
— went to post office, mailed another thank you note, bought some more stamps

Memories… I’ve been with y’all 23 years now! Y’all have seen me through ds’ high school graduation, college, several girlfriends and finally marriage… two grandchildren, the loss of dh’s parents and my ddad, retirement from teaching, and finally… dh’s death.
So many of our SHEs that I think of often and miss so much…
And now I’m so concerned about BLESSED and HARMONY.
I sure am thankful that you ladies are here.

I remember blessed posted about a master gardening class that could be pretty time consuming I would think.
I have gotten my steps in yea!
Did cook up some lunch for me.
rested a bit after my walk.
Got some info. in my two note books today.
Processed the mail.
After lunch dishes are done.
I look on the forums and found 2008 was my earliest date on here.
I remember the red dress boards.

I have been outside and weeded around the fire pit needed some time out in nature to reflect.

I stayed out almost 40 minutes! Not all of that was walking, in fact probably just 25 minutes or so of movement. I walked up the hill a little which was really hard work without my poles, then back to the back driveway, stopped to photograph some scat, then found the bugs too bad so cut back up to the main driveway, walked past my cottage to the point, came across a small flock of Canada Geese, came back and was going to walk to the road one more time but my neighbour arrived back so we chatted for a bit and I got their email address.

Then I moved my car to parking lot, turns out my immediate neighbour is here, they are just so quiet I didn't realize and they keep their car in the parking lot. She is upset she has to look at cars parked on either side of her cottage (hers on one side, mine on the other) and our landlord let us know if we could park the car out her view, she'd be happier. I can, but that means it is right under a tree, which isn't great when it rains since the boughs rest on my glass roof. Plus the whole danger of a branch falling on it in a storm. So keeping my car in the treeless parking lot when it doesn't need charging isn't a big deal, it will only lose 1% per day charge and I'll move it back the night before I'm leaving in order to fully charge as well as load the car.

Now, what will I do next? Data entry? Email handling? Snacking?

Edited to add: my neighbours confirmed what I thought when I took the photo of the scat. We have a bear on the property. It was around the area, in the 3 miles of bush that separates us from the highway, being spotted only occasionally on the cottage road last year as a cub with its mom. Now it is on its own but skittish around humans which is just the way I like it!

Some of the same here, Lucylee. Dkids HS and college graduation, first jobs, dd moving away and now they'll be 32 next month. Daddy died in 1999, not sure if I was here then, but since then there's been my dsis, dbro and dmom.

I've whittled my inbox down to 50 items from nearly 80. I try to stay under 50 but use it as a memory jog for things to do. I have tried to file the HOA state annual report online but keep getting an error message. Tried it on my phone too and got same. It's not due until 1 August but I'm trying to get it off my plate. I also managed to download an app to use for genealogical ebooks. I bought the book before we went away in April and I've just now circled back there, had an email from the owner of the company to be sure I was able to download.

Dh is home.

I have over 6K steps for today. I looked at my Fitbit "dashboard" today and have steps recorded for days I didn't wear the Fitbit. Turns out that the iphone will record the steps if the Fitbit app is open.

This has been a good, quiet day. The house looks good and I've stayed pretty active.

home from trip to get DS15 from work. That was trip #4 for him today. He is now requesting a legal driver to be his ride-along-person so he can load up a riding mower with bagger on a trailer and deliver it to his girlfriend 15 year old brother. Of course, the lawn mower delivery would also include spending hours with his girlfriend. Which translates into trip #5 and #6 of taking/retrieving DS15 from one place or another today. Note to self .....59 days until DS15 can drive himself.

I have been posting on SHE forum, email group or FB groups since Dec 1997. Time flies....

Having years of journal entries at my fingertips can be a blessing and also a bit confusing when I don't remember the rest of the story. For example my journal shows on June 7, 2013 I posted

I made a couple recipes from PW recipe book. I made the pizza dough and then made pizza using her recipe. It was a success.

His Kid was the one with the exploding watermelon. She lived in Orange County at the time and left the watermelon on the counter. She posts on the ShesOrganized FBook page if I recall correctly.

Lots of women have come on gone from these pages over the years.

Twins: I don't think I have any other address or contact info for BW2 except the email associated with her account here (you can find that by going to the member list and hovering over the 'email' button.) She hasn't posted since April 1.

My day is over and nothing was done this evening except a bit of furniture rearranging. I tried to get my computer to use the TV as a second monitor and play videos but the sound isn't going through the TV and my computer isn't even seeing it as an option. I have no idea why but then I dragged the second monitor (which is also a TV) from the office and had the same result so the problem is at my computer's side, not the TV settings. I watched a couple of late night monologues and then an episode of Dick Van Dyke.

I did, at least, wash up the dishes and I also dusted the living room. It is getting chilly here (below 60 now) and so I'm enjoying a fire. And listening to Holst's The Planets. The landlord's music collection is very much to my taste, I keep finding CDs of things that I either own or have on my streaming playlists. So I'm working my way through her music collection. When I need to get moving, I put on the soundtrack from Mama Mia!

I see it is bedtime so when the CD is over, I'll start off. The fireplace is a heater one, so I can shut off the air intake and it is possible when I open it in the morning, I'll be able to start a new fire from the embers of this one. Overnight, the furnace is set to 60 so I won't freeze in my bed.

I have sent her a couple PMs but it must not be giving her alerts on a working email.

Dgd is here, and we’re having a good night, but y’all, it seems like every Friday night, I feel nauseous.
I’m sure it’s just a subconscious nervous reaction, or something. 8 weeks tonight.

I can’t wait to hear all about the wedding tomorrow!

Cathy, do you remember any more details about the exploding watermelon? Because I don’t. I wonder if it happened during one of my many absences.

I remember when the red-dress boards went away, I was in this house, so it can’t be more than 22 years. (I remember chatting with Zygorp on the chat board for a couple of hours past the time when the boards were supposed to be closed; I remember doing it when we had the computer on a table in the corner of the dining room, well before we each had our own laptop that could go anywhere (but still often end up in the dining room).)

And Kathryn shepherded us through an iteration or two before we ended up here.

And now LadyM’s kids are the youngest around, and they’re both teenagers now! If we want stories of little children, we have to look to the grands!

I hope Harriet’s family (and family-to-be) having a lovely rehearsal dinner, and everything goes smoothly tomorrow! A couple of pieces of “wisdom” for the bride: 1) they say “happy the bride the sun shines on” and “if it rains on your wedding day, you’ll never cry another tear,” so you should be happy either way, and 2) no matter what may go wrong, if, at the end of the day, the bride and groom are married to one another, it was a success — and the rest is story fodder!

I've just gotten up for a while, after lying down since before 9 because I felt sick. On the lawn of the Air B and B where we were exchanging cars after rehearsal, waiting on folks taking bathroom breaks, etc., I was bitten/stung 3 times by something called an Assassin Bug. Do any of you have a clue? I got a good look at it as dd took a photo, and I've never seen or heard of one in my life. Looks like a miniature red and black scorpion. None of the wedding party had, either, including HRH or the parents of the groom. This was on a shoulder blade on my back - it was inside my collar/clothes, so could have come from the outdoor wedding venue, which is sobering. After Google determined that the pain was just "like a hornet" (yes) at first, but then would go away, and after I was proven not to be going into hives or anything, I went on to the rehearsal dinner at restaurant. My meal was poorly prepared and didn't do much to make me feel better, but it was food. I seem to be over all ill effects now.

So, this is what's happening here in the middle of the night, lol. Getting sleepy again, so nite-nite.
