When I look back at today I want to be able to feel I used my time wisely and had a good day. Perhaps a mix of play and work - not too much of either - and I accomplishing something off my to do lists. Doesn't have to be everything, but something.

What does managing your Monday look? How do you want to feel about the day tonight?

I was just a couple minutes behind Twins' this morning and also had "Manage" in a title!

Great minds think alike!

Twins', I got a good night's sleep, so with energy levels up, I'm hoping this evening will find me happy about a better managed household.

Normalcy is the Calgon of homemaking. I don't want to be taken away - I want to stay here and tidy, working a plan until I find my lovely home! Michaelangelo said there was a David statue if you just chip away everything that's not the statue.

I'll be going through the house today, chipping away!

My Monday includes going to 2 stitch/craft groups. Library one is from 10 until 12. Senior's center is from 1 until 3. To dh this equates with me being gone "all day". I also need to go to 2 different banks at some point today. That usually occurs in the afternoon.

Supper tonight will be leftover spaghetti and meatballs from Saturday.

There are no dirty dishes or laundry to be done. There are clean dishes in the dishwasher to be put away.

Dh is watching youtube videos on how to replace a window screen. There are little holes all over one screen in our living room. There was also one large hole that I did a very messy job of fixing yesterday. I think he's going to replace that screen at some point today.

Good morning!

I started my day with immediately upon waking to go outside to walk a mile. It is a habit that I used to do but dropped it somewhere along the way. I remembered how it used to be a great way to start my day and decided I wanted to implement it again. I must say that it feels like time well used. By the time the mile is done my mind is fully awake, my energy level is up, and I am ready to get started on my day.

I chatted with DS15 before he left for work. He is requesting that we take him to the city 30 minutes away to watch his girlfriend play volley ball this evening. Either DH or I will do that. Countdown.....56 days until DS15 can drive himself.

I will be leaving to take DS13 to her counselor appointment in about an hour. While in the city I will take this opportunity to do the normal triple tasks at Sam's.
1 - Fill up vehicle.
2 - Get prescriptions from pharmacy.
3 - Purchase items on the Buy This list to restock pantry/freezer.

I will bring home subway for the family, so I won't be cooking today.

I have been up a while got up on time after a good sleep & dreams.
Did regular qt & journaling.
Walked ddoggo has been accomplished.
Now on to the rest of my day.

I need normalcy too, Harriet. After traveling, then surgeries and recoveries thereof, and then a vacation, I need to figure out the new normal here. I only have this week - next week is a virtual genealogy institute so I'll be learning online and my routines disrupted, or let's say, adjusted.

The big thing I need to do today is to get ready for the HOA annual meeting tonight. I've unfortunately procrastinated, between the surgeries and then vacation. And as treasurer, there's been no board communication since we discussed the budget/possible HOA dues increase back in May. So I am emailing them all today, and going with my gut in presenting the budget for the year that began last 1 January.

I need to organize my brain because the day is slipping away. Not necessarily in this order:
-refill meds containers
-a.m. routine
-meeting prep (meeting at 6 p.m.)
----bring Quickbooks up to date?
----print budget recommendation worksheet
----organize my budget presentation and presentation on property taxes
-what else?

I just texted dh to remind him about meeting. I'm not cooking but we have two leftover lamp chops and 1/2 an ear of corn on the cob, and leftover grilled chicken. Before the meeting I'm going to make myself a salad with grilled chicken and a boiled egg. Dh can choose from the refrigerator. There's also just deli turkey, roast beef and cheese.

I woke with a migraine… nuff said.

We are expecting 13 inches of rain starting today over the next few days. Our monthly June average is 9”

Yesterday I discovered a little bunny has made his home under my bushes. You can see where he has pushed the mulch and dirt around to make himself a bed. I wonder where he plans to hide out …hope he finds a dry spot, otherwise he’s gonna be a soaking wet bunny for the nexts few days considering the heavy downpours they are talking about. All of Mother Nature’s critters are in for a very wet few days.

I've been pondering your little bunny, lol. The only thing I can think of is to cover top of bush above him with something plastic while he grows a little more - here I think I'd invert a plastic rectangular tub I have (12x18) that I think would "catch" in the bush branches enough to hold. But even if you kept some actual falling rain off him, the ground will still soak. I guess bunnies just know how to take care of themselves - he's probably lots more worried about completely different things.

Mostly in the kitchen and den so far, I've been on a determined return to normal around here. Chip, chip.

In the meantime, baked a lunch for HRH.

I have one science experiment that may require a walk outside to edge of trees. Otherwise, done and done.

Cathy, something from outside made a 1.5-inch sideways rip in the upper part of our screen door on the screened porch at back. It is significantly bent in toward the inside, as though it took a real blow from out there, so the opening is enough for large insects, large wasps, even tree frogs I'd guess, if they cared to come in. First time anything has happened in many years. (Last time, upholsterers ripped this same screen as they took a couch through the door, so it's been since pre-2010 when my dmother was having reupholstery done.) I was wondering, how are ya'll fixing your screens? Is there something you now wish you'd done differently about the larger place? Assuming I can bend it back together, does the stitching method work? Or is it just easier to replace and not worth hassle?

It turns out that when dh tried to remove the rubber that keeps the screen in place, it kept crumbling apart, so he took it to a local hardware store and they are removing the old screen and replacing it with a new screen and the rubber part that hold it in.

There wasn't anyone at the afternoon group, so I stayed for a while and then I went and did banking at both banks, including making a payment on a cc.

I got home less than 15 minutes earlier than usual, and dh said "You're home early!"

Pot of leftover spaghetti is slowly heating on the stove.

I think I have gotten through the number crunching that has to be done today. I have reconciled the bank through the end of May and checked off all the supporting documentation. For March and April I need to go backwards and be sure I have all the supporting documentation. I also sorted down a bunch of papers in my box and filed the "pd bills" group. I've made copies to distribute.

I've reconciled the cemetery account only through April. Not as much action as in the HOA, and today I just got the June bank statement. We do keep enough in the account, and the bills aren't much, so I don't need to track as closely. I also need to assemble the bills for March to end of May to file.

I have 7500 steps so far. I walked the ddog two laps this a.m. and another lap after I had some lunch. It's really nice out today - not too hot with a little breeze.

We saw the traveling company of the Broadway show "To Kill a Mockingbird" yesterday and it was wonderful. We had seen it on Broadway on November 2019 but I had forgotten how good it was, and we had very very good seats yesterday. I could see expressions and hear dialogue better than on Broadway. I came home and downloaded the Kindle book and reread it, finishing very late in the night.
