Super Silly Sunday
In honour of it being National Avocado Day, I thought it might be fun to have a let's be silly kind of day. Sometimes, it's all too easy to take life too seriously. Today is my day to go visit Mum, so I've got a fair bit on my plate to get accomplished before and after.
I think I'm going to work in fives... or TOTH.. whichever comes around first.
- change all the Scentsy warmers
- clean off the small desk
- transplant the sweet peas (didn't get done yesterday)
- flip laundry
- bring in boxes from the car
Off I go! *Grabbing a blueberry muffin and a dish of watermelon to snack on*

Re: Super Silly Sunday
I'm just so glad to be here! .. .. our area's internet was out for half a day. 12 full hours - GASP, lol. Dd44 and dstepson came over to see if we were okay, not because they hadn't talked to us by cell, but because they figured we'd be so unhappy.
And I must admit, I do not like being without internet. HRH hates, hates being without it, especially through the evening when he regularly catches up with friends.
We were surprised that, even though we often do find regular tv to watch, for instance, there was just nothing we wanted to see yesterday. Each potential offering was met with lemon-faces by one or the other of us. So, it was fun to have visitors and sit and talk and laugh. We did have SILLY "Svengoolie" on when they came, for instance, and they were amused to remember so many of those, but it wasn't even a funny one, so we just enjoyed our visit.
During the time, I partially cleaned the refrigerator. Not on my current chore radar, but it was a wise call. I had one bin draining after a thorough cleaning, so that was good. Dstepdil sent me tomatoes.
I had JUST posted in Arts, Crafts and Needlework here about my takeaways, or maybe philosophy, on doing a large, long-term project through to finish, rather than small or UFO ones. Glad I got those thoughts "down" and posted before the technical difficulties. It was good for me to think it through. Some humbling thoughts are beneficial, for one thing!
Watering is going on now. I'll also need to carry some back-and-forth watering can assists. brunch is next up.
LadyM, thinking of you two!
Avocados are ever so cool.

Re: Super Silly Sunday
Well, that lot got done in less time than I expected! There are two errands I need to run before visiting dMum later this afternoon, but I'll do those when both stores are open.
In the meantime, I'll get a few more things done around here.. there's almost two hours before the stores I need to go to are both open
Next up:
- clean off the small table in the back yard
- vacuum living room
- get recycling out of the back seat of the car
- install fence for peas to grow up
- deadhead the lupins in the front yard
Let round two begin!

Re: Super Silly Sunday
Morning y’all…
Yesterday I finally got my guest room put together with Sweeties help. I ordered a new rug that did not stink. First I vacuumed the rug pad, the rug itself and the guest room floor. I also mopped the floor, but first I had to disassemble the bed by removing the box springs and mattress. I needed Sweeties help for that. Once the floor was dry we had to lift the metal bed frame to slide both the pad and then next the rug.
After everything was in places I had to put the room back together again. That includes moving furniture back into the room. I’m really happy with the results.
This morning I stripped our bed and they are already in the washer. Next up is to vacuum my house and mop the floors. I dusted on Friday so that’s done
We had a big thunder and lightning storm late yesterday afternoon and then later in the evening. This pattern of weather is expected again today. It’s very overcast at the moment and I can see the rain clouds in the distance
Off to start my day…waving to y’all. See ya later

Re: Super Silly Sunday
Again with the finishing well before TOTH. This time, I took a bit of a break, had a bit of breakfast, took meds, and fed ddoggos. Now I need to figure out what to do for the next round. I'm trying to come up with a mix of inside and outside jobs. After this next round, the stores will be open, and I can get my errands out of the way.
- deadhead peonies
- vacuum kitchen
- clean out foot spa for donation
- straighten out couch blankets
- cut up strawberries for dMum
It's really time I got off my butt and got moving here

Re: Super Silly Sunday
WTG, bsweet in getting your tasks done! I need to emulate you!
I walked ddog, the "feels like" is already near degrees. Hoping we'll have some T-storms to cool things down. I haven't figured out anything for our supper, probably will thaw chicken and grill to keep kitchen cool? A salad with grilled chicken sure would be good but I'm not sure I have enough salad greens.
I'm trying to figure out what I can reasonably get done this week with a holiday and then long weekend. Was not a productive week last week except for taking the course. I'm working out on Monday and Tuesday and have appointment with OT on Wednesday.
And this has been sitting here all morning gathering thoughts...

YES!fun to have a let's be silly kind of day. Sometimes, it's all too easy to take life too seriously.
Bittersweet - Thank you for this reminder.
My day started well and has continued mostly smoothly. Busy but with no drama.
DH and I stayed home from church but DS15 took himself. He drove the 2 blocks while I held my breath that he wouldn't get caught. He was driving a pickup with a farm tag so can legally drive it at 14 years old. But still. He is 36 days away from being a legal 16 year old driver and I don't want anything to happen to influence that.
Yesterday i had plans to go shopping to restock the pantry, refrigerator and freezer. We are running low on several vital items. However, that plan was OBE when DH memory loss happened. So I went to plan B and placed a curbside order that I can pick up at noon today. I will take DH and DD13 with me for the 50 mile trip to pick the order up.
This evening, I will attend a parent meeting for DS15 to attend a week long camp in July. This will be a completely different group, church and town than we are used to. The only person I will know is DS15 girlfriend. Everyone here knows our story but with a new town/group I expect to get some questions. I expect to be the oldest person there and might need to provide proof that I am DS15 legal parent. I will grab the documents to take with us to this meeting - his birth certificate, adoption papers, insurance papers....what else?
DS15 has been gifted an amazing queen size bed from an elderly couple that he has helped for several years. They bought the bed but didn't like it so it has almost no usage. They bought a different bed and offered this one to DS15. The kicker is they need it out of their bedroom today. It is a heavy-duty bed with electronic controls that adjust each side separately. I told DS15 that I didn't have the bandwidth to deal with moving furniture today. He can gather a few friends including a legal driver and they can get the bed frame, mattress, etc out of their house and put it in our garage. We will deal with it another day.
Stay curious. Challenge assumptions. Success loves persistence.

Re: Super Silly Sunday
Hi!
As soon as I woke up, dh said he wanted to go out for breakfast. I haven't gotten dressed that quickly in a long time.
Then we went and picked up 2 dozen free range eggs from a farmer friend.
As soon as we got home I started in on laundry. Bedsheets first. While they were being done I swept and mopped the back hall.
Dh is having a shower, so when he is done, I will grab all the towels and facecloths and do that load. All clean laundry is put away already.
All inside plants have been watered.
It's very windy and cool here today.

Re: Super Silly Sunday
The last round is done, and the errands are out of the way! One thing I was looking for seemed to be unavailable everywhere. We love watermelon, but don't want some enormous 10 or 12lb melon! The smaller one are quite sufficient for us to eat in a few days. I cut it all up, remove the rind, and put the chunks in a container in the fridge. There just isn't enough room for a big one, and not enough time to eat it before it starts to go soft and icky. I did get everything else on my list, so I'll count it as a success.
I'm debating whether to make a batch of oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. In order to do that, I'll need to do more cleaning in the kitchen.
In the meantime, I'll get some other things done:
- vacuum hall and bathroom
- gather towels etc to get them washed
- deadhead some of the roses
- clean off one of the kitchen shelves
- clean living room windows (lots of "nose art" courtesy of Super Storm the Wonder Dog)
