Did a bit more on the counters and did up the dishes.
Time to close up the windows maybe the drapes too.

Sewing CI
I mitered four corners on the project bag, had to redo the closing seam.
Cut the next one and presses it a bit thinking if I remember how to put in a zipper LOL!

Ordered my legacy writing project books from Amz..
Learned where the music is on the new tv still figuring out all the features!
Old tv box is working again now they probably had to reset it and short handed bc of the 4th.
Good bc I would not have spent time learning the features on the new one.

Put the branches in the can and washed out the wagon while it was still cool outside.
I have done an afternoon walk around the yard and took the ddoggo out.

Got my steps in today.
Did some hip stretching glut exercises.

Counters look way better not perfect but having dishes put away is a bonus also.

Dd called and we caught up and had a good visit.

dMum called this morning to let me know we have to wear masks when we visit this afternoon. Apparently there's some sort of outbreak on her side of the building. Have I ever mentioned that I hate wearing masks? Someone will be stopping by - hopefully in the next couple of hours - to pick up the non-working lawnmower. I'm sure it's quite fixable, or at least good for parts. I just haven't a clue how to fix it, and I need to be decluttering stuff!

Next up:

- refill meds
- sew a couple more cat pads
- deadhead peonies under the living room window (got missed yesterday)
- pack bag with non-perishables for dMum
- pick the few ripe strawberries before the dratted mice get them

WTG on getting the lawn mower out of the way, Bsweet! I just got dh to bring a dorm sized refrigerator down - I am going to try to sell it on Facebook Market. He's been resistant to moving it but when you want something gone, you want it GONE!

I've been working hard. I wanted to do repotting but can't figure out how to do without making a mess that will have to be cleaned back up. I got dh to put potting soil in my bin on the screened porch (and put away what's sitting by the front porch) and I'll try to do repotting at the "potting bench" more of a server there.

I have a.m. routine done except for showering, right now I need to do the hot tasks - watering outside plants, and then I'll break and s2s. The DR is set up with tablecloth and flowers. I wish dh would "allow" placemats but he things the tabletop will get marred. I think this group would be okay.

Anyway, on with my work. I also need to make the dip thing but I can do later, and it doesn't take long.

Prayer meeting last evening was lovely, though overlong. I enjoyed it quite a bit.

I had visited my colorist right before.

Dd25 came and took me to lunch today and we talked and talked and talked - good for us both. We brought some home to her Dad. Back here, she trimmed my hair (SO convenient - glad I don't have to give this particular stylist up, lol! )

She packed the 3 boxes I had made up for her, the additional boxes she had already made for herself, etc., into her car to take back with her. Our truck was already back from its trip there.

Ds called and talked to us in advance of our getting a call from our NEW lawn guy, our green-eyed boy12. We have been instructed to pay him ten dollars and no more than ten every time he mows, and not argue with his Daddy (smile). This is learn-the-value-of-a-dollar time. They are both here now, with ds teaching the pitfalls of our particular yard. Ds is going along behind, weed-eating today. I have exactly ten dollars in my pocket. HRH will have a hard time with this pay plan, lol.

So glad you have a a reliable yard guy Harriet, good price too!

I think all is in readiness or close enough. I still need to put together the lettuce tomato pickles for burgers, and dump the salad into a bowl and add the package of feta. I'll add a little extra. Used most of what we had in the Mediterranean dip, which has layered hummus, tomatoes, diced cuke, kalamata olives, feta and cilantro. Didn't have pine nuts to add so not true 7 layers.

Twins', yes, we did get a good contract, didn't we? I think HRH is about to burst with Grandpa-disappointment in how little gets to go into a pocket, lol. Ds stayed longer to put in a tricky lightbulb. Actually, it made them later leaving than they planned and they got caught in a rain, but not too bad.

That sounds delicious, by the way!

Dstepson brought yet more veggies from dstepdil. She is so thoughtful in bagging them up for us. Roma tomatoes look extra good. She also sent yellow, orange, even a purpley-black tomato. We will be having Italian supper soon, I'm sure. They grow in such a small space - everything is vertical in an enclosed fenced garden that can't be more than about 12 x 12. Dstepson has to get on a ladder because across the top of their enclosure, cucumber and squash surprise them. Our green-eyed boy mentioned going by there today - I but he has his eyes on his favorite "sweet 100" tiny tomatoes.

bittersweet, I didn't realize you were sewing cat pads. Is this for shelter/medical or your own? I need to tell about my bitsy projects in Arts, Crafts and Needlework. Mine right now aren't as large as a cat pad - I'm on a break from large things.

Dd says there IS a photo of my quilt among the photographer's photos of the wedding. I'm hopeful. She says she's just been so overwhelmed she hasn't even been able to enjoy her own wedding photos and can't remember if it looked better than my own photo or not.

Dh has had such a good season (so far) with his veggies. Our veggie crisper is full of cucumbers and zucchinis right now. I looked for a proper recipe for sliced cucumbers in vinegar. My goodness, they were so good with our supper tonight. I would have called it the most perfect supper for summer. Steak, BBQed zucchini for dh, foil wrapped yam for dh and a foil wrapped potato for me. No dessert. We rarely have dessert.

I emptied and refilled the dishwasher and the laundry is finally in the dryer.

It was a gorgeous day here today. I've spent a good part of it reading.
