Re: Health and Fitness July, 2024
Y’all know I have a difficult time getting all my water in. I read a tip to drink 15 swallows of water when you first get up and then set a timer for an hour to do it again. I leave my water on the kitchen counter so it’s very easy to see. I also have a reminder on my watch that tells me to move if I’ve been sitting too long
I have discovered that taking just 15 sips of water when I pass my bottle or feel my alarm is really doable for me so for the last few days I’ve been able … even with my headaches… to get my water in

I am learning to focus on ME ME ME while also balancing taking care of others. It is a process.
Yesterday was a success keeping focused on my health care. I like the feeling I get when I take care of myself. I feel better physically and mentally.

LadyM…
Glad to share what I am learning. Using the 15 sip method, I had already reached my 80oz goal for today and it’s only mid-afternoon. At this rate I might be able to get another 20 ozs before the day is over.

Yesterday was a success with my water! Tried on some clothes that haven fit in a while… some fix, some are close, all are encouraging. The scale is still my friend…I’m getting close to my first big goal and that is both exciting and encouraging
:
LadyM… I’m so happy to see your journey for taking care of yourself. Sometimes putting yourself first is a really difficult thing to do.

I find the daily check in here to be motivating and encouraging.
I need accountability!
Yesterday was a success in that I made the best decision I could for my health in the circumstances that I was in.
Mentally I know....I KNOW....the scales go up and the scales go down. It is never a straight downward drop.
However, it was an emotional kick in the pants this morning to see a 1.6 lb gain. No way. NO WAY. I ate 1368 calories yesterday and that could not have caused a weight gain. Ohs well. I expect the scales to drop back down tomorrow or the next day.
Sleep - Too little. I was wired from drinking tea too late in the day and was still awake at midnight. I need to take a nap today.
Morning Mile - check
Morning papers - check
Cronometer - check
Hydration - check
Golden Hour - check

Re: Health and Fitness July, 2024
Twins… I use my watch. Sort of an apple type but way cheaper. Tells the time, my heart rate and BP… though that’s not very accurate. It tracks my sleep and tells me when I’ve been sitting too long. It also lets me know when someone is calling and shows me my text messages though it’s very small in its typing so I have a hard time reading it. When it does that I just look at my phone.
I only paid $35 for it and I’ve had it for over 1.5 years for it. I got it on AmaOn and will check to see what brand it is. I bought different colored bands for it… but I just wear the one it came with.
