Ugh, I'm afraid I'm going to be outside today and I'm not looking forward to it! Going to the river, neighbor of dfriends there is having a big parking lot party on the hottest day of the year. I hope to be in the pool as much as possible to "be cool."

Before, I'm going to the wedding shower for dfirst cousin J's granddaughter. It sounds like a big shower, not a smaller family shower since it's held at the church and there was no RSVP indicated.

I must say I'm definitely not a geek when it comes to housework There is, however, a bunch of it that needs some attention over the weekend. The weather is supposed to be a bit more reasonable (for us), so I won't melt while working in the garden, nor will I need to turn on the AC.

The first thing on my agenda is to have another cup of coffee and wake up a few more brain cells

Enough brain cells are now awake to tell me that I'd rather be working in the garden than doing housework Unfortunately, responsibility dictates I get some of the housework done, too Believe it or not, I don't think I have any errands to run today, so I can stay home and concentrate on getting some things done around here. Not much of anything gets done during the week. I have great plans on the way home, but then I walk in the door, and all motivation runs and hides.

I was just about to hit submit, and I heard thunder outside. It's quite pretty - the clouds to the west are all dark and ominous, but there's sun coming over the roof from the east side of the house. I love the mix of sun and cloud when it looks like that. Hopefully the rain holds off until I can get a few things done outside.

Dog walked three laps and package wrapped. They will live in NY, I think in Dee's area, after marriage, so I hated to purchase a shower gift from their register and not send it to NY address. OTOH, I wanted her to have the unwrapping packages experience here. So gift is here, large, and wrapped, and I'll offer to ship it for them after the shower. Package looks okay - used a blue and white ticking strip (all purpose) wrap that I had, and white fluffy pom pom for bow. Found an appropriate card. (Why didn't I make a cute little "for you" card? Why didn't I have this wrapped already?

I need quick breakfast then on to s2s. I'm still sweating from walk.

Hi!

I need to water the outside flowers.

I also need to empty the dishwasher and the dryer.

I think we are going to a 50th birthday party. Dh says he's going, but sometimes he changes his mind later. Either way, I don't need to make supper as the party starts at 3. We are picking dh's bff up on the way. I won't know anyone there except dh and his bff. Birthday guy is a former customer of dh's and bff's when they worked together 10 years ago. Dh insists that this guy likes me and the (verbal) invitation was for both of us. ~sigh~

Later... dh has decided he doesn't want to go. The only thing for sure is that he wants zucchini for supper. I can heat a couple of chicken burgers to go with it.

Boiling eggs now ready to peel after they cooled off.

spray nozle on hose now
spotted mail carrier up the street I put a can of cold soda in my mail box for her
my journal will not be her till mid week.
Mixed up corn bread ddoggo thinks it a treat even uncooked win win for both of us with a cooler option today & she still gets a treat.

Have a great one. 66^/101* today's temp range to get in on the cool getting up early is a key.
Basement is cool as well.

The rain started again just as I finished deadheading the peony bush in the big patio bed. It didn't rain hard or long, but if it keeps doing this, it's definitely going to interfere with getting some work done outside. I already have a bad case of the donwannas about housework today! I think I'll do a couple of rounds mostly in the house while Mother Nature figures out what mood she's in.

- wash living room floor
- sew a couple of cat pads
- dust living room furniture
- deadhead peonies under the kitchen window (I did the patio ones instead last round), unless it's raining, in which case, I'll sew a couple more cat pads

We are home from a successful trip to the city. We met DGS27 for breakfast and enjoyed spending an hour chatting. Then DH and I went to buy a bathtub and walls.
It has taken us a few days to discuss and decide what we wanted to do in DH bathroom. We started with the decision whether to do a complete bathroom renovation or just the bathtub replacement. We decide everything besides the bathtub is in working order and not in bad shape, so we don't have the desire to gut and renovate. Then it was the decision of whether we wanted to have a walk in shower or the bath/shower combo. We chose the combo. Finally it was the decision on what shape of bathtub, height and various gadgets. Also what kind of walls? We made the final decisions yesterday and found what we wanted, but needed to measure again before we bought the items. Now we have bought the items, and they are sitting in our garage. So the next step will be talking with a couple of reliable & trustworthy contractors to get them installed.

DS15 and friend plus both of their girlfriends have an adventure planned for today. DS15 diesel pickup needs a new rear end. They found one on FB marketplace that is located about 2 hours away. The 4 of them are going to pile into DS15 nineteen year old pickup and go on a mini road trip to buy the used rear end from a total stranger. There are about a million things that could go wrong but they are full of anticipation of having a fun day together. I'm going to be doing a little extra praying today.

How close to the edge are the teens living? DS15 just told me he is going to borrow a tire from his old boss so he can have a spare in case one of the used tires he bought yesterday blows out on their trip. I was surprised that he doesn't already have a spare tire but that is a conversation for another day. DS15 said he will jack up old boss pickup and take the tire with them, then will put it back on his pickup when we get back home. Uhm....me thinking outloud....but then you will have a spare tire but you won't have a jack. DS15 responded we have extra jacks that I can take with us. I'm not sure I want to know the details of how many piece-it-together-and-make-it-work parts that this teen adventure includes.

Another round is done without the interference of Mother Nature. I completely understand the extra praying, LadyM!Teenagers seem to have this notion that they're invincible

I'm thinking I should really get over to the community garden this afternoon to do some weeding and watering. Although we've had a few sprinkles today, the heat of the past week has really been drying out the ground. There's quite a bit of stuff to get done around here, but only doing housework is going to push the donwannas into overdrive, and I'll end up getting pretty much nothing done.

- empty vacuum canister
- dig out some dandelions in the front beds
- take noon meds
