Hot Summer Day PWYC
Actually, it's not that hot here outside today - high to be mid-eighties with storms later, perhaps. What's hot is that we're without A/C so will find some out of the house things for today I hope.
And Nancy's mention of 104 temps is enough to make me sweat; I know LadyM is well-adapted to their heat.

Re: Hot Summer Day PWYC
Thank you for opening the village today Twins' Mom!
It's not too hot here yet, but we are expecting a hot day, and a hot week.
I have already cleaned both cat litter boxes and took the garbage out from the bathroom. I also spot mopped the bedroom and the living room in front of the bedroom door.
We have no plans today.
Dh wants spaghetti and meat sauce for supper. I will be adding some plum tomatoes to the sauce.

Re: Hot Summer Day PWYC
It was maybe 6 pm yesterday when I discovered the a/c wasn't working. I had been upstairs and realized it when I came down, but it took several more hours before dh believed me. Before you feel too sorry for me, the temp in the house is 78 right now. I know a lot of people have their thermostat there but I'm more like 72. This isn't unbearable but feel warm and stuffy. I slept terribly and I feel like I'm getting a terrible start to the day/week with dh nagging me about going somewhere, anywhere.
I slept very badly, even with ceiling fan going above us.
Anyway, I'm getting into the shower now.

I do not want to go anywhere outside air quality is unhealthy again.

This effects mental health.
I am better today however slept okay.

containerize ice cream and take half to basement freezer x
Meal plans made.
Feel better than yesterday so that is a good thing.
Had bfast.
Short walk around the block ddoggo is happy I can walk again more later if the winds change and clear things out smoke wise.
Watered some.
Had lunch frozen pizza I made up ahead.
Looking for masks I know I kept...

Morning girls
Twins… sorry your a/c is not working. My thermostat is set at 77 during the day and 74 at night. Can’t sleep with a ceiling fan cause Sweetie hates it so I sleep with a floor fan blowing on me.
Got my morning routines done and made my brunch. Am watching Nadal play in the Olympics. This may be the last time he plays professionally because there are rumors saying he will retire after this
Nadal has been my favorite for many years so I am enjoying my time watching him.
Will do a quick grocery run after this as I forgot to list a few things I needed when I went yesterday. It’s hot here as well with a high around 94. Don’t know what the humidity is but I can promise you it’s high… no thunderstorms yesterday, but it looks like some are heading our way at the moment.
Einstein did great yesterday! I will need to vacuum my master bathroom as our shower in there has openings on each side of the glass wall. Once he gets in there he can’t get out so it will take less that 5 minutes for me to do it with my stick vacuum.
Hugs to all in need… BBL

Re: Hot Summer Day PWYC
It's not, thank goodness, going to be very hot here today - low 80s or so, with a possible thunderstorm this afternoon. It is, however, going to be fairly busy - there's things to do, and dMum to visit. I've got about three and a half hours before I have to leave to go see her, and there are - as always - many things to get done. I'd like to try to work in a couple of outside things just for a break from the housework.
Our air quality is - surprisingly - in the low risk category today, probably because of all the rain we had last week. This means that, as long as it's not actively raining, I might be able to get dMum to go outside for a few minutes.
- feed ddoggos
- morning dailies
- putt away clean dishes
- toss a load of laundry in the washer
- clean out veggie drawers in the fridge

Re: Hot Summer Day PWYC
Hmmmm.... looks like everyone is either at church or eating fruit salad down by the river
Isn't it amazing how little time things actually take when you actually get up and do them? Something that smacks me upside the head so often, and yet never seems to stick. I've got the list ready of things to take to dMum this afternoon. For once it's a short list! Just cookies, salt watter taffy, and watermelon Of course, the cookies will need to be baked yet...
I make a batch of three dozen, pack them in bags of 6, put them in the freezer, and take in one bag a week, along with fruit, cheese R*tz crackers, blue cheese, and whatever other assorted things she might need (body wash, shampoo, plastic knives - long story there, and any other number of a long list of things.
I guess I'd better get myself moving now that I've been distracted for half an hour!
- mix up cookie dough
- vacuum back entry
- flip laundry
- sew 3 kitty cat pads closed

Re: Hot Summer Day PWYC
BSweet, you activity is inspiring today!
Dh texted our usual a/c and heat guy and he suggested a couple of things - dh drained the condensation pan and A/C works now! We went on out to brunch and picked up scrips at CVS and it's cool again! We keep thermostat between 72 and 74 usually, but the humidity was higher, making 78 feel stuffy.
I'm going to read a bit.

And another one's done, and another one's done... another one bites the dust!
So glad your AC was so easily fixable, b]Twins[/b]Our temp is creeping up towards 80F, but only 38% humidity, so it's still bearable.
I'm just going to take a quick break, then do a last round before I head out:
- bake cookies
- sew three kittty cat pads while each batch is in the oven
- have a quick shower and get everything ready to head out the door

Re: Hot Summer Day PWYC
I just made a zucchini/banana/applesauce loaf. We didn't have an egg, and a cup of banana is a good substitute. I've never tried this before, so I don't know how it will turn out.
I'm waiting for the meat to finish defrosting so I can make the meat sauce. I had 3 plum tomatoes to toss into the pot, and they have been chopped and they are ready to go.
So happy you got the a/c fixed Twins' Mom!!
