Re: Wednesday Anti-Procrastination PWYC
Made it to my class this morning, but really didn’t want to go. Knew my 91 yr old friend would be there so
She a great motivator.
Went to coffee after that with the girls and then headed to the grocery store. Came home, put everything a way, ate lunch and still need to go to the dollar store. My friends birthday is Friday and a bunch of us are taking her out to lunch. I need to buy a gift bag and a card.
I’m still not feeling 100% but can’t seem to figure out why I am feeling so off. Nothing particular, just not myself. However my floors are vacuumed and mopped and my kitchen is clean as well as the rest of my home.
Tomorrow is laundry… how can that be???

DS16 is now a fully legal licensed driver!
Finally!
***** Big Sigh of Relief****
On the way home DS16 asked me "Do you want me to drive DD13 to school tomorrow?"
YES!!!
I am going to take a break and then get started on the rest of my day.

Re: Wednesday Anti-Procrastination PWYC
I'm withdrawing my recommendation of my roomba. It's been running for well over an hour and has emptied its bin numerous times, when I know it can't be that full. (Dcleaning was here last Friday and vacuumed.) "Product health" indicates that I have minimum of twenty hours use before maintenance is due. If I were less busy I'd turn it off and see what I could figure out but I'm just letting it go. I've had other times it just got stuck or forgot where it was or otherwise didn't perform well. With all these trips to empty the bin, it will need recharging, and it's only done our MBR/closet and hall so far.
I paid a very small medical bill. I may have already paid it but it's not worth wading through the paperwork, both here and online. Our insurance co seems to have "audited" every bill this year and they keep changing us from deductible pd in full to needing a little more to satisfy it and I'm sick of that. Both of us have spent time on the phone on the issue.
-------------------
Ugh, didn't get posted before I worked out.
OK, the roomba finished the house while I was away so whatever was going on with it going to base to empty must have been ok.
Instacart seems to believe that when I select a 3-5 time slot, I want it delivered before three. Order was dropped off 59 minutes ago, which, according to my phone was before three. Despite having groceries on the front porch, I did go to post office, dropped off mail and sent package, and through bank drive in, both on my way home. So I got groceries in as quickly as possible and put away perishables quickly.

Re: Wednesday Anti-Procrastination PWYC
I have definitely taken today as my day of rest.
I got up, ate breakfast, did my stretches, did Bible reading…
And went back to bed.
Remember, I’ve had a grandchild five nights in a row. Today, nobody needed me and I took advantage of it.
My purpose here today is to serve as a bad example.
Ds and DDIL just called and talked me into going to the church swimming party tonight. I won’t swim, but I guess I will get my lazy self up and s2s. It will be good for me to be around people and also to see dgrands before school starts back tomorrow.

Congrats on having another driver in the house LadyM!!
We are having penne and meatballs, but the pasta isn't quite cooked yet, so I popped in here to catch up.

Re: Wednesday Anti-Procrastination PWYC
My workout is always good but today I just didn't have the energy. I know the article work has left me tired and I haven't been eating well either.
The hospital called and my arrival time was moved to 8:45 instead of 5 a.m. I'll shower in the morning before I go then. It would have been nice to get it over early but I appreciate the later wake up.
Dh got home early so I have been super distracted at getting anything done since. I asked him to walk the dog for me since she was impatient, he was watching Olympics, and I was online trying to do the state annual report for the HOA (due on 8/1, although no penalty at this point.) I also emailed prior treasurer about post office box renewal. I don't have login/password info for P. O. box. so I'm pretty sure it's still her credit card on it.
I've been finishing up watering flowers and doing a few other things. I need to get some dinner started - I have chicken but will probably grill inside. Temp is 94 feels like 103. I don't know how LadyM does it. I can't seem to get used to it.
Dtrainer suggested that I can come in next week or early the next week before doc takes off cast. It's a gym so I can show up and workout during their open hours, and use the treadmills, recumbent bikes, leg machines if I want. Doc said for other surgeries not to workout for two weeks, but wondering?
I'm feeling almost like I've felt when on prednisone. I'm trying to things squared away before tomorrow the same way I do before a trip.

We each need our purpose. Excellent job fulfilling yours LL!My purpose here today is to serve as a bad example.
I am trying to keep the house calm and quiet as possible. DH has a headache.
DS16 is going shoe shopping with his girlfriend.
I need to encourage DD13 to prepare her clothes, backpack and supplies for the first day of school tomorrow morning.
I went through her stack of papers and signed each of the 7 class notes from teachers. Most of the teachers said they are giving a 100 test score if the student returns that paper signed.

Re: Wednesday Anti-Procrastination PWYC
I got the car cleaned out and I went for a walk and a swim. The latter physically did me in (not from exertion, more that it lowered my body temp too much and it took hours to recover.)
I'm really stiff and slow moving right now.
I did enjoy about an hour out on the deck by the water. Got my toenail polish off. Read a magazine. Enjoyed the view and sounds.
And I showered and washed my hair and trimmed my bangs after swimming so don't have to do that tomorrow.
Helped dh cook dinner, did the clean up myself.
Bought a 5 year, unlimited mileage, extended warranty for the car. That means the car will be covered for 9 years. The warranty takes effect when the car rolls out of the manufacturer's warranty with will be within a few weeks.
Emptied and reset the mouse traps. Only one mouse caught, in the fancy electronic trap beside the shelves where the s'more fixings had been pilfered. Trap 2 wasn't set properly (dh set it last night when he thought he heard a mouse behind the bed) and trap 3 wasn't triggered but the peanut butter was gone and there were droppings on the trap itself. That's a cheeky mouse. Dh tossed the dead mouse into the bush.
It is a clear night so I sat out on the dock star gazing and listening to the stillness for a while before coming back in to reset the mousetraps. The heat wave is over and it was quite cold this morning so the bugs were not bothersome today. It was lovely to be out without having to wear the bug clothing or bug spray. (On Monday it was horrendously bad but it was still hot then and had rained.)
In summary, although paperwork was untouched, I did have a productive day.
Unfortunately, dh just came through, mentioning it was late. It is! It is actually tomorrow now, much to my surprise, I thought it was just 11. No wonder I'm so tired.

Re: Wednesday Anti-Procrastination PWYC
Probably another late night post that might be skipped over, but I wanted to spend a little time with y'all.
BTW -- did any of you see my mu-mu story about dmil from last night's late night? LadyM's description of her long dress made me think of it. Your dress is MUCH prettier than my late dmil's wardrobe, LadyM.
I watched day 3 of the video series about transforming your life. I'd say a person who stayed in bed till 4:00 pm definitely needs a transformation. I'm glad I can be honest with y'all.
I don't "feel" especially depressed, but I guess in some ways I am. And keeping a 70" tv on all night is probably not conducive to truly restful sleep, I know. I just can't sleep with it off. Looking at my sleep score on my watch, the very best sleep I've had in a while was last Saturday afternoon when DGS was here, but he let me take a two hour nap. I was on the couch, but the den is pretty dark, and I guess having him in the house was a bit of security for me.
I took one of those quizzes that ranks how "balanced" your life is -- 45 questions, I think --
I got the following scores:
Family - 9
Spirituality - 7
Finances - 7
Home - 7
Mental - 5
Friends - 3
(I didn't consider my connections HERE, which I might should have, but I only thought about how often I see/connect with actual face-to-face friends)
Health - 2
Career & Learning - 1
(Since I have no career anymore, this is probably expected, but I think the "goal" is to always be learning something new.)
I did have a nice time with the church swimming party. It was actually just an end of the year thing for the children, and there were probably 7-8 kids there, and 8 adults. But the adults are some of my favorite adults in our church, and it was nice to get out of the house. (Probably 7 of the 8, including myself, will be leaving if our church is not allowed to disaffiliate.)
Tomorrow, I have to get out and get a haircut.
Kathryn, I think you had a really productive day! WTG!
I don't think I ever said CONGRATULATIONS to LadyM's ds16! I know he is thrilled! And you too!!! Especially when you are concerned about LordM, it will be so nice to be able to let ds run errands and take care of his own business. No more taxi service for you, LadyM! I hope LordM is feeling better by the time you read this.
Saying a prayer for you, Twins, and I'm sure you won't see this till it's all over with, but I am thinking of you and praying this is the LAST surgery for you and that you recover super fast!
Cathy, your supper sounds good. My dgd would love it! She loves ANYTHING with the word PASTA in it.
I think more journaling might be good for me, Nancy, but I am so paranoid about ds/ddil reading it after my death! I still have a box (size for men's pants/etc/gift box at Christmas) that is full of old journals... and I have some poetry from days past that might be embarrassing for them to read... but I can't seem to throw it out. I'm going to order some loose-leaf paper for my 5x8 notebook and try bullet journaling. Easier to throw out pages written in haste. I'm thinking it might be good for me to be able to look back... some day... and see that I am making progress, if I am.
Maybe I should do a section in MO just for me, like yours, because I do better writing my thoughts here actually, and y'all give me a lot of good insight.
One area of progress... or maybe just a sign that I am progressing, or just preoccupied...
The anniversary of Other Guy's death was Monday, and I didn't even think about it until I saw a Facebook post about another totally unrelated event. One of my cousins was killed a year after Other Guy, and I was trying to get my parents on the phone at the same time that I was on my way to see Other Guy's grave. My parents, dh, and ds were in College Town, getting ds moved in.
Rose, I am really thinking about trying to join a class at the gym -- one of my best friends goes to it, and quite a few ladies from my old church. They range in age from our age -- mid 60s -- to at least one lady who is in her 80s. I hate that they meet at 8:30 in the morning
but that might be good for me too. They work on balance and just basic movement, I think. After I get this jury duty business over, I may see if there is room for one more.
That would raise my life score in health and friendship, wouldn't it?
I'm kinda stuck right now, but I am at least thinking about how I need to improve my outlook and my daily routines.
