The closet that has to be emptied each time is a bedroom closet, so to take things to another room means going through bedroom and halls to do that. I thought of the LR, where couches could accept clothing, etc., but the LR is the main place they'll be working at light switches, etc. The decision to put attic access in a bedroom closet was possibly the worst decision the architect made back in '58. With plaster walls, changing that now is a big headache.
