Good morning, village! Today is National Blueberry Popsicle Day. https://www.daysoftheyear.com/days/blue ... sicle-day/Considering the weather we're expecting here today, a blueberry popsicle or two would go down well! Environment Canada says it will be 31C (87.8F)!! Thank goodness we have air conditioning!!

Since I've spent a fair bit of time working on the house this weekend, I'm going to spend some time in the garden. There are weeds aplenty, and many flowers that need to be removed.

I need to get a few little things done around here first:

- morning dailies
- dishes
- refill meds

Funniest story from work? Oh I could tell many! Some of the reasons people come up with for not being able to pay the release fees for their pet are incredibly creative!! There was one guy who said he had no money (fees were less than $100, including a licence). However, he also said that he needed his dog back because he had the dog's baby tooth, and had paid $50,000 to have the dog cloned, and she would be needed to care for the puppies! Yes, I'm serious.... that phone call actually happened to my co-worker!

Happy birthday, Nancy!! My mum used to raise sheep, and she washed, carded, and spun her own wool.

At sunrise the temps were in the 70's when I did norming mile. My thoughts went to putting on a long sleeve hoodie. It will be 90F later today, but the feel of the air has changed from HOT to nice. I love fall weather!

Funniest work story......so many....how to choose? The potato gun antics would be in my top 10 fun times. It is one of those stories that don't make sense if you aren't there. Location was an artillery base that has some of the biggest and most powerful guns in the world. A couple of my coworkers used a homemade PVC gun to shoot marshmallows from a balcony into our compound. Everyone involved was having a good time. It was a tiny bit tense when our boss 3 levels up walked out on the balcony, but he smiled and joined in on the silliness.

My sis called to wish me a happy bday! Thanks for the wishes on here as well.
I put my new sheets on the bed I saved em for today!
I'm still working on my a.m. journaling stuff.
I have food upstairs from the basement freezer now for the day.
I found a table cloth I forgot about and put it on the deck yea!
I still need to change the one on the dining table I did get the one out that I want to use.

Still have wool to card after blending and spin up not a lot but it's so good
to see the progress and know that it's less to do yea for that!

90* is our hi. temp today so it is good to have something inside to do in the afternoon.
My meal plan today easy & simple.
Waiting on my coupon for my fav. taco stand and I"ll do a meal out later in the week and JoAnn's.

I have walked today and we got a bit of rain it was nice and cool stopped.

Funny work story? I always have students with various first languages in my ESL classrooms. It was with a lower level class, and I had given them a vocabulary quiz. An older Arabic woman was sitting next to a Spanish-speaking woman from S. America. The Spanish speaking woman finished first, turned in her quiz, and then got out some material, ostensibly to check her answers. When, the Arabic woman turned in her quiz, she had answered all the questions not in English - but in Spanish. I asked her about it, and she seemed very surprised. How could that be? She said it was English (it was not) and that she didn't even know Spanish. Then, she offered to take the quiz again. When I told the other teachers about the quiz, they completely cracked up. She was one of those students whom all the teachers love because she was so kind and generous and personable - but also because she had a big quirky personality. We all knew she didn't know Spanish!

Had my coffee, finished some laundry and then my bestie who lives far away called to talk.

Once when I was teaching I asked my class to tell me what they like about my class. This is what one of my students wrote…. I love you as a teacher cause you teach me how to “rite!”

That lot is all finished, plus I fed the ddoggos, did a short workout, and started on cleaning the patio table. It's soooooo nice out there right now! It's only about 18C (65ishF) - remember I live in a city where we BBQ in December in parkas and snow boots The sun is warm, though, and it feels lovely! I know it's probably heavy sweater and jacket weather for some of you. For us, later this afternoon, it will be blueberry popsicle day!

I've realized I'm going to have to fit in a few indoor tasks, since I'm not yet done dParkerbarkerdummybuttdog's haircutt. We've made a lot of progress, and mainly it's getting his ears and tail combed out and trimmed. I also need to vacuum up some hair that got missed yesterday, and all the new lot from dSuperStormthteWonderDog. I don't get it.. she's a short haired dog - half Doberman - HOW does she manage to shed so much without going bald?

Anyways.. on to the next round:

- vacuum living room, hall, dining room, and kitchen
- work on ddummybutt's haircut
- weed/deadhead the small round bed in the front yard

It was a "cold" night here and only 17C when we got up this morning. Next March I will be in shorts and a T shirt when it gets to the HIGH of 17C and it will feel SO HOT! Now I want to put on a sweater and long pants and cozy slippers.

I decided I needed to deep clean the hallway and the bedroom. Hallway is done. Floor was vacuumed and then washed numerous times. I moved all the shoes and told dh at least one pair had to go. He has 5 pairs of identical white running shoes, all in various shades of dirty with only one pair even remotely white. Plus a pair of black running shoes, which haven't been worn for a long time and a pair of crocs. The black running shoes are going into the hall closet and the crocs will be beside 4 pairs of "white" running shoes. I am also washing all of his coats, jackets, hoodies and a vest that he wears all winter long. He has 5 hooks, there is a hook for reusable shopping bags and the last 3 are my hooks. When the entire hall was empty it looked very wide. Now the shoes are all back and my coats are all back. Winter boots have been added now as well.

I vacuumed under and around the bed. Now it's back in place and I found my winter slippers. (Ugg moccasins in periwinkle blue)

IF I have any energy this afternoon, I'm going to clear out the closet in the back hall. There are more coats, jackets and hoodies in there along with numerous scarves. I have 3 partial cans of paint to go in there and 1 pair of shoes. I don't think there are any shoes in there. The only pair of boots we have are now in the line up. I don't think I've ever needed boots because dh is so good at clearing the snow away before I go out anywhere.

Washer is finished the first load, time to go flip the wet stuff and reload the washer.

I'm back from a jog and having some lunch. I jogged the big hill (0.55 miles up) in the arb, a 2.5 mile jog altogether. Not long but a little extra work.

This afternoon, I'll make a quick trip to WF to pick up some stuff to grill tonight. The girls + M will join us, perhaps friend A as well. I don't think the Cs will join us. I'd also like to do a little payroll prep and perhaps some decluttering progress - clothes. I have way too many. I'll make the veggie kabobs for tonight; dh will just grill chicken sausages -- easy and certified GF for dd28 (celiac disease) and dd26 (prefers to be GF).

After a weekly morning get together with 3 friends, tomorrow will be back to payroll - PD meetings in the afternoon + 1 class late in the afternoon. That class is a zoom class since the students are in Utah; they are employees of W company. The company's plant in Mexico burned down a couple years ago, so they brought those employees to the plants in the US, in MI (not this city) and Utah. We have been hired to teach them English; my little group is advanced, very smart and very hardworking.
