Aaauauuuggghhhh!!!
My roof is STILL leaking! Drip drip drip into the bucket.
OTOH—
My hair is colored.
The dishes are washed.
The laundry is started.
Plus, I filed several papers that had been stacked on kitchen counter.
AND — I received the proof for dh’s stone. Will let ds look at it before I send approval, but I think it’s fine.
Another step down this road…

Re: Thumbs up Thursday PWYC
Stayed up last night until I got a safe arrival text from dd - they are fine.
But about today... ..
Remember the "That's Good." "No, That's Bad." stories from comedian Archie Campbell? Well, this is how my day has gone.
Appts were generally good and dermatologist said I was cured, released
except that I now have scar tissue where one of the biopsies was done, which seems extremely unfair.
Sigh. Dermatologist showed me how she wanted me to "knead" the spot every day and believes it will be broken up and go away.
Got to surgeon's follow-up, though, and she was having none of it. Changed the "prescription" and now it's twice a day and with much more force - ouch.
Double sigh, at least. Happily, though, because she is having a baby soon
, she's just going to let me monitor it myself and not have to see her again for a year.
Then, to Show mar's (does everyone know that restaurant or it is regional?) for lunch for HRH's birthday.
Quite good. But what's bad is that he and I are now feeling awful. He's in the bathroom for the second time and my loud, rumbly tummy is telling me I won't be far behind.
No good deed goes unpunished? Something like that?
Well, if I go off the radar, don't anybody ever eat there... ..

Happy Birthday HRH
I focused more on deep cleaning today and less on the decluttering in 4-room switch project. I am looking forward to having our garage back after the bathtub project has happened tomorrow.
I used foot long hoagies bread to make pizza subs this afternoon. They are always well received and quickly disappear.
DD13 got her weekly treat when I picked her up from school this afternoon. It would be easy to take her great grades and good attitude for granted but I want to always acknowledge her effort.

Re: Thumbs up Thursday PWYC
I've got a sick dh here too.
"Here" is the cottage but I have no idea how long we'll be here for. It was supposed to be until next Wednesday but ds called tonight and we might be going back or I might be going back to get dgs (see J&C) and coming back up here. Regardless, the car is charging. We arrived with just enough to get to a supercharger in case of emergency and this might be one where we'll have to go back within the 48 hours it takes to charge here.
My thumbs up is for getting off, late, but still on the way leaving the apartment clean and ready for the dryer duct cleaning work tomorrow, plus I changed the sheets (and washed the dirty set) and towels (which are waiting for me to launder when I get back.) Along with the cleaning I did last night plus all the paperwork being scooped up to bring up here so I can work (wanna make God laugh? make plans), the apartment looks great. If we go back I have to take the food back with me because I emptied the fridge and a lot of the freezer and brought it up here with us.
Dh started to feel sick quite early in the drive but made it to the half way point. We had a snack and switched drivers and he dozed most of the whole rest of the trip.
Another thumbs up for getting to tour next year's cabin and making notes on location of power, what's included and what I'll have to bring up. So the lists for next year are started.
Dh managed to stay standing that long and then came back and went to bed. He didn't eat any dinner and since he was so so cold I took his temperature and discovered the fever. I would rather not sleep in with him tonight except he likely has a different version of what I had yesterday (I had a reverse fever, my temp was 95.6 when I took it.)
The third thumbs up is the weather is gorgeous here. The cottage is cool, though, the main area has warmed up to 70 but was 65 when we arrived. Outside was 75. It is clear tonight and there's a chance of the aurora borealis but we face south with a hill to the north so have less of a chance of seeing it even if I am awake when it might show up. This is the first time this year that we've had a chance of seeing it. There's a place between here and the highway where I can see north clearly and I could drive up but I'm tired and suspect sleep is more important.
Fourth thumbs up is for VOIP tech that allows us to forward the household phones to here at the cottage. Ds didn't know we were here (and I have no cell service here) but he called home instead of texting and so I answered right away instead of him having to leave a message.
I attended my meeting tonight online and have now cleaned up my dinner dishes (just soup and a sandwich) and set the mouse traps with fresh bait (we left them unset but there are no signs of mice around here, I guess that's another thumbs up!)

Re: Thumbs up Thursday PWYC
Dgrands are in bed; school in on 2-hr delay in the morning because of flood warning...
I can actually HEAR the water dripping into the bucket in the next room. Will anyone EVER be able to stop this leak??? Three people have tried and failed. DS said he would talk to carpenter tomorrow (the third person; he hasn't waved a white flag yet.)
I love the sound of the rain on the roof... but in the BUCKET??? Not so much.
Hope Ken feels better tomorrow, Kathryn. (((HUGS)))
A lot on my mind tonight. But it IS good sleeping weather.
