Re: It's October! PWYC
And the day for Happy Birthday wishes for President Jimmy Carter, turning 100 years old today.
Today begins the final quarter of the year for oddities around the house. Changing a sponge that I use to clean the sink surface, changing toothbrush head, etc.
So many things converge for our household today, since it is both trash and recycling pickup at Oh-Dark Thirty tomorrow, requiring that that is handled today. The car's oil change light has popped on, startling HRH into the belief that we are under siege until that is handled. I didn't do as well last night, getting much less sleep. Sigh. Have a "stitch" at my side.
Friend Steve and his wife, after postponements for the third week in a row, believe they can visit us on Thursday. He and HRH talked this morning. I'm concerned about this even though I know it gives Steve a chance to have an outing that makes sense. He just seems very weak on the phone to me.
I want to vacuum, but shouldn't do it myself. I think I'll go to walk or something and ask HRH to do it.

Re: It's October! PWYC
Morning girls…
I spent a much needed and glorious day at the beach yesterday with friends! Have plans to go again tomorrow.
Today is another day in the dentist chair and I hope to discuss what needs to be done in the future. There has been talk about removing needed tooth or two, but do t know when that will happen.
Sweetie is about to finish installing our fans. Once that’s done then I can finish my work in the lania.
Other than that my home is in great condition as I am keeping up on my routines. Einstein is a game changer for me. I run it a couple of times a week so that leaves me to stay on top of my bathrooms and kitchen. I swish my toilets almost daily and wipe off the bathroom counters and sinks after I use them.I don’t have a specific day that I do them.. just see it, do it.
I do need to mop my floors. Been doing a lot of spot mopping as Sweetie as been in and out of the garage
And throughout the house to the lanai as well as in and out of the house. Once he’s finished with the outside I’ll do a full mopping of the floors, but for now I just mop when an area needs it.
Because of this change to see it do it I no long rely on a day of house blessings. Most do my house chores are broken up into small pieces that I don’t need to do this any more. Plus I am retired which means no kids to worry about plus I have plenty of time to do what is needed. Theo only thing I really schedule is my laundry day, but that includes just four loads of laundry… whites, colors, towels and sheets.
Enjoy your day… I’ll see y’all later

Re: It's October! PWYC
RR, I saw your beach pic on Facebook! Nice!
Things are moving along here. I had a revelation last night that I did too much yesterday. Foot was sore again, but not as bad as it had been. Over 10K steps and I was pretty achy last night, which led to me turning off the alarm at 7 a.m. Dh came in from workout and woke me up. But....I don't have to do everything that is OMM list. I can pick and choose and decide not to do one or more. My house does not have to be perfect. I do not have to be perfect.
Today
-easy workout at two
-take fish out of freezer, thaw in refrigerator
-Warm honey jar in warm water to see if crystals disappear - need to buy more if still crystalized
-go by bakery - this afternoon after workout - for something for RH reception at temple
-grocery store? or tomorrow a.m.?
-Clean the last chair on the front porch
-guest bedroom and bath spiffing
So far for tomorrow:
-bake two loaves of challah
-prepare and bake gelfilte fish loaf for appetizer
-run Roomba
Harriet, I had the garbage out last night, it's almost full this time and I may add more stuff if they don't get here until afternoon! I used to always look around in the garage before I took it out to see if there was forgotten stuff that could just go...
Yes, happy birthday to Jimmy Carter, 100 years old!

Re: It's October! PWYC
well hello!!!! Happy October 1, 2024
d twins thank your for welcoming in October and all of us! I am glad you mentioned the holidays - it's a good reminder!
happy birthday to president Carter! It's amazing the changes that have happened since he was born - some things stay the same - good and bad; some things change- all I could think of is all the people he has touched. what an adventure in life this man has had - the history he has lived - the help he has given. Happy 100th.
d harriet. - I love when these little jobs of refreshing what we use. We also have to change toothbrushes, sponges, etc. We also have to change out from Summer to Fall to Winter.
I pray that stitch is not a problem tonight and that you get beautiful rest when bedtime comes to you.
praying for Steve.
Hope you have a gentle lovely walk
hello d rose
good morning
I am so happy you had a wonderful time at the beach with your dear friends.
good luck at dentist.
I hope you have a great day!
hello again d twins!
oh I am so sorry your foot is sore again. Have you had an x-ray? or a cat scan?
have a wonderful pick and choose day - and not a Do everything day!
hello d Nancy!
waving to you as well.
have a wonderful day on the home front!

Re: It's October! PWYC
spoke to family yesterday about the devastation around her area - she is okay, her sons back yard and garage were flooded by 2 ft but the house is high enough to not have flooding - her neighbors are not as lucky. Everyone doesn't have power including the water system - so no water.
I am glad mom came home - dd younger insisted and boy am I glad she did.
I am beginning to feel like I am getting closer to a routine with d mom. At first it was hard bc once I leave the house then I tend to let my day get out of routines. I am beginning to have mom in my routine without getting sidetracked. It's taken me awhile to accept my current role. I figure dd younger did it all the time but I will say it has taken time for me to adjust again.
I am still trying to get mom on a medicine schedule. I want get her on a 9 am and 9 pm routine. Right now mom is sleeping in bc she is up at night watching tv. Today she had nightmares that people were in her room - I called and she thought it was real at first. When I fed her breakfast we talked about her nightmare and she said that I saw them bc I was there. I told her that must have been some dream. She realized that it was a nightmare. Thank goodness she smiled and said "that was interesting"
She didn't get meds until 11 am.
oh well working her back to where we were yesterday.
priority goals:
I need to adapt to my card file again. I always veer off of it in summer.

OCTOBER'S THE MONTH
WHEN THE SMALLEST BREEZE
GIVES US A SHOWER
OF AUTUMN LEAVES
BONFIRES AND PUMPKINS
LEAVES SAILING DOWN
OCTOBER IS RED

dd is picking up d mom so that mom gets her apartment cleaned. Mom always closes the door on the cleaning angels and we have decided not to tell her. Her house is spotless anyway - it just needs vacuuming and floor washing.
