15 October: Tuesday PWYC
I can't believe it's already halfway through October, the tenth month of the year. We're closing in on November, the end of daylight savings time, and the "other" holidays, i.e. not Jewish holidays, lol.

Re: 15 October: Tuesday PWYC
Good morning, Twins'! Thanks for opening the village on this still dark Tuesday morning. The weather is definitely cooling off in my corner of the world... the weather forecast says there's a chance of gasp flurries
I am SO not ready for that!!
Today's plans include cleaning out much of the garden with DSon's help, doing some weeding, getting the green bin out for pickup in the morning, and - of course -the inevitable housework. At the moment, though, I'm listening to an audiobook and drinking my coffee.

Re: 15 October: Tuesday PWYC
So glad to see bsweet checking in today, and have fun in the garden. Is it still fun at this point? bw2 is still getting tomatoes and I still have a few zinnias blooming - I like to leave the seed heads for the birds until closer to spring, although it looks terrible right now.
I only have my workout today, and dh is bowling tonight. I have new stamping toys coming today too, so I suspect I'll get in stamping time later.

My coffee is finished. My audiobook has hours to go
I need to get off my behinder and get a move on here, or it will be lunch time with not much at all accomplished. Let's see..... what to do first? Decisions, decisions.....
- morning dailies
- put away clean dishes
- wash another load of dishes
- feed ddoggos
- fill in work time sheet for vacation time
Gardening is still fun, Twins'. What's really amazing is that we've made it to mid-October without a frost! Since we can have snow by now that stays until spring, this is quite unusual. We have a few peppers, and lots of tomatoes to take off the plants.

Garden - "is it still fun at this point?" asked Twins'.
For me, my fun left is mostly the shade flowers - impatiens doing best. It's not that they were shaded by anything, but that they had something to protect from Helene's winds. Lantana is okay, but, sigh, Harmony told me I needed to stake those (smile). Some are drooping and sadly they are drooped over others that lost their chance to keep poking their heads out as prettily as they did before.
Today has been productive with more energy. I've
Exercised
spiffed kitchen
texted with grocery shopper several times
put all groceries away
taken care of under-the-weather HRH
He's up now and having chicken soup.
Last evening, dd44 dropped by after taking DangerBoy back to Univ.
and dd26 texted to say she'd call on her way home today.

Good morning to Twins, Bittersweet, Nancy, Harriet , & all who follow.
Back from a Sam's run. Put everything away, then started a load of laundry. Have both sheets & a mountain of clothes to wash. Dh was using an oil based primer paint right near the dryer vent outside last time I washed clothes that smelled very chemical-y (he had the outside walkout doors open while he worked). I put clean clothes away & next time I reached for a shirt to wear it smelled like that chemical. Phew. So did the next shirt on the pile & the next. I ended up putting five or so shirts back into the hamper to wash.
Harriet, I remember the T uesday M orning stores you mentioned a while back. We had one in next town for a while but it closed several years ago. I once bought three pairs of D earfoam slippers there because they were only $7.00 & my favorite kind.
Had breakfast with a dfriend yesterday & we talked until lunchtime
. So good to see her & catch up. On the way home I stopped at a M ichael's store & there was a small sign outside that said they now had fabric! I went looking for it as there was no signage in the store & found it along a back wall. Another sign there said to take the fabric you wanted to the framing department & they would cut it. Nice that they had bolts instead of pre-cut pieces. I saw one design I liked (I'm a sucker for Fall & Christmas prints
) but reminded myself I had lots of fabric still waiting to be used & hurried out of the aisle without it. Hope they continue to stock fabric -- it's the only thing they've been missing in otherwise well stocked stores. I never would have known it was there if I had missed seeing the small sign outside.
Flipped the laundry & cut up some chicken into small pieces to make chicken salad for lunch. Washed those dishes & my hot cocoa misc. Have some emails to deal with before lunch & have plans to sit and plan after lunch. I should write an On/Off My Mind list before planning. Have to start thinking about a C hristmas wish list & nudge dh to do the same so things that need to be ordered can be ordered soon.
~~~Waving to everyone! Hope you have a wonderful day.
Re: 15 October: Tuesday PWYC
Good Morning!
I only have a few more hours of my 100-hour surgery recovery left to do. I am looking forward to returning to my normal life.
Our temps have dropped from the 90's into the 80's. The next 4 days will be in the 70's before returning to the high 80's. These cooler temps have me reaching for long sleeve hoodies to slip on when i go outside.
I spent time in the garden this morning because it brings me joy. I harvested a half dozen large sweet potatoes and some okra. There are dozens of tomatoes and peppers ready to be harvested but I have more than I need so they will become compost. Multiple types of greens are available and ready to be harvested. I plan to do that later today. Also on my want-to-do is transplanting the last pot of strawberry starts.
The strawberry starts that I transplanted a week ago are thriving and doing well. This was an experiment that I tried several ways and learned what works best for multiplying strawberry plants. The zinnas still have 100+ blooms but below the beautiful flowers the stalks and leaves are becoming ugly. I have started the process of removing those plants. I put the flowers with seeds into the compost and then burn the rest of the plant in the firepit. The ashes are used in the garden.
I have set a small goal for decluttering today. The dining room table in the fun room has become a magnet for collecting random things. We rarely use this table so it is easy to ignore the STUFF. Today is the day that I stop and make decisions on what to do with all that STUFF. The decision is the hard part for me. Once I know what to do with the STUFF then it seems easy to implement the decision.
Re: 15 October: Tuesday PWYC
I've never had to heat with wood before. I'm excused from the cutting and stacking of it but even the carrying of enough wood for the 16 hours I'll have the fire on is enough to completely change my reading of many books set in the times when wood was the main source of heat and cooking.
It is almost noon and I'm dressed, have a cheery fire burning and warming, brought in 4 armloads of wood to keep it so, been for a 5 minute walk to the road and back, put another small load of items no longer needed into the car, and disconnected from the dock and brought up and put away the fenders from the dock to stop damage to dh's kayak when he was coming alongside. My landlady won't give me any instructions on work I should be doing, despite me asking, so I'm just working on undoing anything I did in the first place. The only thing she asked was that I do my best to keep up with the mice since I mind that chore less than she does!
I also listened to the end of my audio book while working on setting up my bullet journal for the year (I was adding some tabs so I can find each month easily. I then downloaded 3 more audio books to last me into November.
I've made up a list of things to accomplish today, including prep for my meeting tonight.
Re: 15 October: Tuesday PWYC
Well, that round didn't take very long! I have some decluttering to get at today, too, LadyM, and I so often find myself with the same predicament
I'd best get moving here before I find my butt glued to the chair
Next up:
- swish n swipe bathroom
- find the little shelf support doohickeys I bought on the weekend to put the bookshelves downstairs together (I think they might still be in DH's car)
- go through one downstairs tote
- put away folded laundry from yesterday
- change Scentsy
I've started (just barely) starting to go through a stack of small totes in the basement bedroom with stuff from dMum's place. I have to work hard at deciding, but everything has to be dealt with before I move on to the next tote. It's not easy, but I'm making some progress.make decisions on what to do with all that STUFF. The decision is the hard part for me.
